Issues for FSU Football WAY MORE Than Just QB | FSU Boston College Recap | Warchant TV #FSU

the kicker and the punter that's it if you were to ask me after two horrific games in this 2024 season who are the good players on the Florida State football team those would be my answer and maybe the Long Snapper too everybody else not so great some are better than others obviously and yes the quarterback play was downright horrific in Florida State's 2813 loss to the Eagles but after two games the most obvious issue with the Florida State football team is this there's nothing special out there anywhere we knew this wasn't going to be as good a team after losing the likes of verse and Travis and Coleman and Fisk but thought or maybe hoped that The Replacements would be good enough to at least challenge first a spot in Charlotte and a birth in the college football playoff instead after two games you're left to wonder rightly if this team can get to a bowl losing overseas to a decent Georgia Tech Team disappointing but forgivable losing at home in hideous fashion to Boston College not just disappointing and depressing but concerning to the point that you start questioning what in the world is going on with the program I like Mike norbel clearly he's a good coach and I'd like to remind everyone listening to this how relieved you when he decided to not take the Alabama Job eight months ago but Florida State's offensive minded head coach has a bad offense the coach that preaches response and physicality has a team that doesn't respond and has been absolutely manhandled two games in a row it's also a Florida State team that was penalized seven times on Monday including two false starts on a senior offensive lineman and a personal foul on a Touchback immediately after your only touchdown you also had 12 men on the field in a first and goal situation and still couldn't keep Boston College out of the end zone and let's not forget maybe the silliest decision of the entire Mike norell era on the first drive of the second half when he elected to go for it on Fourth and five from his own side of the field in a one-score game I would have thought that was a bad choice if Jordan Travis was still the quarterback and Jordan Travis if you haven't noticed is not still the quarterback the result was a game-changing interception it was a panicky move by a coach who needs to figure out how to move the ball and score points when number 13 isn't taking the snaps it'd be nice if this offense could establish any sort of running game but alas and that's maybe the most disappointing concerning part of this whole Florida State football program right now no physicality they don't own the line of scrimmage against anyone and why in the world would we think that's going to get any better as the season goes on because there are a whole lot better defenses out there than Georgia Tech and BC I can promise you that Boston College rushed for over 260 yards Florida state ran for 21 that's just pathetic and embarrassing this Florida State team is supposed to be big and bad and physical on both lines of scrimmage and the semal have essentially been punked two games in a row what in the world we can write and talk and video and complain about the quarterback all we want and trust me I know there's plenty of ammo on that front and that will absolutely be something to monitor during the bye because what we saw on Monday especially in the first half was as bismal as anything we've seen from an FSU quarterback in a good long while I absolutely think a QB change is at least on the table right now but let's not just throw all the blame at DJ Young's feet even though it would be fitting after some of those passes he threw on Monday night him all right he has absolutely no running game to speak of his senior tight end couldn't catch anything his offensive line more often than not was being abused by BC's defensive line and for stretches of Monday Night the Florida State Defense looked closer to the one we saw in 2021 than what we saw in 2023 it's year five nobody was expecting another undefeated season but we sure as hell weren't expecting to watch this team start stumbling backwards again so quickly maybe this thing will improve or maybe it goes off the rails completely I have no idea at this point I do know that so far through two games the post Jordan Travis era at Florida State looks eerily similar to the pre- Jordan Travis era and that's one of many reasons to be concerned for
