"Soft-Swinging" Mormon TikTok Influencer Arrested After Shenanigans Go Too Far

A Mormon influencer on TikTok, in fact, it's known as Mom Talk, It's like a subcategory of TikTokers who share their experiences, mothering and being parents? Well, she got arrested for domestic violence, which is bad, and I'll tell you why in just a moment, but before I do, you might be wondering, why are we hearing about this woman? Well, she went viral fairly recently because as a Mormon in a marriage, she admitted that she and her husband would engage in soft swinging ,which means being intimate with other people within their friend group without the intercourse until she engaged in intercourse, and her husband didn't like that and then they ended up separating. >> Hold, let's get clarity on the definitions here. First of all, soft swinging, instantly hilarious. >> It really is. >> Apparently I don't engage in cuz I've never even heard of it until now, so I have to inquire. Is it soft because it's in a circle of friends, or is it soft because there's no intercourse? >> My understanding is soft swinging in terms of their definition of it, right? Is you could be heavy petting, can be kissing, I don't know if there's sodomy involved, right? But in terms of vaginal intercourse, that's a big no. That's where you cross the line up here. Let me just say, okay, look, different strokes for different folks, literally. Right? But that ain't for me. Okay? Soft swinging, hard swinging, any swinging, someone's gonna get cut, all right? >> Maybe that's why they call it soft because you can't do intercourse. So that's where you go soft. But, [LAUGH] I don't know. Look again, I swear, no shaming, it is what it is, and marriage is super hard. >> If you guys get into it, go for it. As long as there's an open line of communication, there's an agreement, you know what the boundaries are. The problem here is the influencer, her name is Taylor Frankie Paul, she crossed the boundary. >> But that's what I was going to get to. >> Yeah. >> So we'll get to her story one second, but guys, I've seen 1000 swinging stories, they all end the same. I was just playing with your wife's breast and making out and stuff, but then it turned out we had sex. Of course, of course you did. Say no soft swinging. So you can tell yourself pretty little lies. >> I don't get what the point of any of the other stuff is. Like the other stuff is supposed to prepare you for the finale, the grand finale, right? >> There's no finale. It's just like the movie Prometheus, what happened at the end? [LAUGH] >> Alright, so now the negative twist which I don't take any pleasure in sharing with you all. But unfortunately, police in Herriman, Utah, responded around 11 p.m on February 17th to a report of domestic violence at a home. Officers said they found probable cause to arrest Taylor Frankie Paul, who's 28 years old, on suspicion of misdemeanor assault, criminal mischief, and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child. After she was booked, police say that they found additional evidence and referred the case to the District Commissioner's office. The evidence also suggests that during the incident, Ms. Paul's minor child was injured by an action of Ms. Paul, police said. But they did not provide any further details. And to be quite honest with you, I don't want to get involved in knowing all of those details. Sounds pretty terrible. But she and her husband have separated as a result of that boundary being crossed. So they're co-parenting and now her TikTok influencing is kind of detailing that whole process, what it's like to co-parent and all that. Man, I gotta say, I don't know if her now ex husband, I guess, is okay with her sharing all those details about their relationship? >> Yeah, no, look, this whole, trying to get famous thing's a hell of a drug and everybody in America is doing it. Let's keep it real, right? And so you >> Not me. >> Okay, >> Not me, I shared stuff about my marriage on this show, but its not that important. >> It's benign. Yeah, it's very antidote. Let's put that up, okay. In this case though, they're sharing intimate details of their lives in a brutal kind of way. Right? So I don't follow all of her videos and I'm not saying it's brutalized and she's like, he's terrible, he's that. But you're sharing super intimate details. It's tough to be married to someone that's in that situation, but then you start to worry like, hey, anything I do, is she going to say it on air? Right? >> That's the point, yeah. >> And then when your kid grows up and they watch the videos, >> I didn't even think about that. >> Yeah, but you know what's gonna happen, she's gonna get more famous now, let's be honest. Okay? So she's gonna get bigger. >> Paul refers to herself as Mormon in her TikTok videos, saying in some that she struggles with monogamy, but is still a member. But hold on, is it not for the women? I know that, but for the men, is it monogamy, not even a thing in Mormon religion? >> So it's complicated. So back in the day, yes, men could have multiple wives, but then in order to join America, you had to agree to end polygamy. That's why a lot of Mormons fled to Mexico, including the Romney family. >> What? Yeah. In fact, when Mitt Romney's dad ran for president as a liberal Republican, George Romney had a problem because he was born in Mexico. Yeah. And so, >> wait, hold on. The Romneys went to Mexico to continue engaging in polig, what? >> Yeah. >> How did I not know that? >> I don't know. I don't know how you missed it, but yeah. But they eventually came back. Right? And that's why George and then George Romney became the governor of Michigan, and then you know about Mitt Romney. >> Hold on, wait, hold. Mitt Romney's dad was a polygamist? >> No, not necessarily. I don't know, I don't think so. It's certainly when he came back here. >> Why would he move to Mexico? >> No, his family moved to Mexico, and George Romney moved back to America and then became the governor of Michigan. >> So Romney's grandfather was a freak seven days seven days a week. >> Probably, very likely. >> Waoh. >> Okay. >> Wow. >> And, here's an interesting twist. That's why even though Utah is very conservative, they don't like Trump's anti immigrant talk. And that's why a ton of them voted for Evan McMullin in one of the presidential elections cuz they have a soft spot for immigrants. Cuz they were immigrants when they immigrated back from Mexico, and immigrated from the east coast to the west coast back as the country was forming out. Obviously as Americans. >> How many wives did Romney's grandfather have? >> I don't know. >> Why would you wanna have multiple wives, or multiple anything? Like, people are trouble, man. >> Well, I know why, [LAUGH] okay? But still it turns out it's not a great idea. That's a lot of trouble. >> So much work and so many feelings and emotions and needs and demands, and bills. >> So you know how I feel about religion. So this lady, she's, God bless her, she's very attractive. Right? So, she says, I can't contain myself in monogamy. Have at it Hoss, that's for you. That's for you to decide, and it is what it is. But look, if you're Mormon, you also can't drink coffee and beer, etc, life is too short guys, life is too short. >> My God. >> A lot of Mormons and Muslim beliefs are actually weirdly similar, but anyway, go on. >> Okay. Very cool, but no, I'm getting more information. >> We're getting more information guys. >> No, this is insane. >> Okay, what are they saying Ana? >> All right, our correspondent Kate has written in, >> Okay. Like Mitt, the Mexican Romneys are descendants of Miles Park Romney who came to the Chihuahua desert in 1885 seeking refuge from US anti polygamy laws. He had four wives and 30 Children, and on the Rocky banks of the Piedra Verdes river, he and his fellow Mormon pioneers carved out a prosperous settlement beyond the reach of US federal marshals. He was Mitt's great grandfather. >> Great grandfather. >> What energy? >> Yeah, rocky shores indeed. >> Holy moly, 30 kids? >> Hard at work. >> Four wives. >> Okay. That's some hard swinging there. But within the family, okay. It's all kosher according to their religion. And, by the way, for this particular mom talker, so in the old days, only the guys could have multiple husbands. Why not the women? >> No, we don't want that, please. >> Okay, [LAUGH] >> You guys live your weird, multi wife life. We're not interested in multi husbands. At least, I don't think so. I don't know ladies, let me know. You guys interested in multiple husbands? Multiple loads of laundry to wash every single day? You want that? You want that? Multiple meals to cook, multiple toilets to scrub? No, you keep your husbands. I've already got one. >> Okay. We leave the story on this important hashtag. Hashtag, keep your husbands. >> [LAUGH] And leave mine alone. Okay?
