A GROUP CALLED SAC-12 WANTS SAC STATE TO JOIN THE PACK 12. >> THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY. IT IS IMPORTANT TO BENEFIT FROM COLLEGIATE TOURISM. >> SAC STATE WON SEVEN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS LAST YEAR AND WAS PUSHED TO JOIN THE PAC-12. THE PAC-12 CURRENTLY ONLY HAS TWO TEAMS. BUT THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR TWO MORE SCHOOLS AND SAC STATE COULD BE ONE OF THEM. >> THE ONLY PROBLEM I AM WORRIED ABOUT IS ARE WE GOING TO BE ABLE TO EVEN -- IF THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE COMING, WILL WE BE ABLE TO USE THE FACILITIES. >> Reporter: THERE ARE CHALLENGES TO THE UNIVERSITY FACILITIES TO COMPLY WITH CRITERIA TO BE A PAC-12 SCHOOL. >> JOINING SOMETHING LIKE THE PAC-12 OR ANY CONFERENCE HAS A FACILITIES CHALLENGE BUT WE HAVE A LOT OF PARTNERS HERE THAT COULD HELP IMPROVE THE FACILITIES. I THINK WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THE CITY IS EQUIPPED WITH HOTEL ROOMS FOR THAT LEVEL OF COMPETITION. >> WE BEAT SOME OF THE POWERHOUSES IN THE PAC-12 ALREADY SO HAVING THE DESIGNATION OF BEING A PAC-12 SCHOOL WILL ATTRACT STUDENTS THAT MAYBE DON'T WANT TO GO TO FRESNO STATE.
