wearing my national colors makes me feel so important that I'm able to represent something bigger than myself and compete for something bigger than just me my goal in Paris is to win multiple gold medals in the 100 m Dash and the 200 M Dash I have never been kayaking before I am hoping that I stay in the kayak and I don't end up in the water I might flip your kayak we'll see you want to be in it with me oh no flipping no flipping now I can say I've done another water sport I'm Britney Mason you're watching days off presented by Jimmy Dean brand for me it is super important to take a day off just to allow your body and your mind to completely reset from the chaos so far this season has been going phenomenal I think that I am ahead of where I need to be currently right now so I'm just going to keep pushing and doing exactly what I need to do from an athlete standpoint and what my coach expects from me I actually just had a season best this past week which also has me placed as number one in the world so just wanted to keep my status and continue training throughout the rest of the season I'm good how you good good good good okay so I'm going to get some water first and then are you hungry yeah okay I got some fire breakfast training professionally having a full-time job and finding time to relax is pretty chaotic when I do have some down time I am an aesthetician so I do like to be in the beauty industry make other women feel very empowered and beautiful and then just having that downtime also with my partner is great because one he's able to travel with me to my meat so it's kind of knocking out two birds with one stone and then also just being able to see him and hang out after a long day of practice and work I give extraordinary performances on The Track by making sure I'm just really taking care of my body post practice whether it's massages getting treatment eating properly things like that lean meats vegetables and whole grains are super important to me because those are what helps fuel my body as an athlet let me try that's good good huh yeah I know my boyfriend and I have been actually wanting to do more outdoor adventurous things and explore the area that we now live in so we're going to be doing a little bit more of that during my off time what you got planned this afternoon it's a surprise eat your sandwich okay we're going kayaking at Rock Springs what mhm I have never been kayaking before I am hoping that I stay in the kayak and I don't end up in the water I might flip your kayak we'll see you want to be in it with me oh no flipping flipping well Kevin you've made a [Music] mess wearing my national colors makes me feel so important that I'm able to represent something bigger than myself and compete for something bigger than just me okay so I do have a question if you don't want to do any of the pwle work where's the best seat to sit front seat my dear we're going to put this man in the back being part of the PA Community has been a completely different shift from what I expected my life to be post colle I am now someone that other athletes can look up to and I have this platform to be able to use my voice in a positive way to help influence the world my goal in Paris is to win multiple gold medals and the 100 m Dash and the 200 M Dash I think me winning would help the per Community to bring more awareness to the sport hold on we about to hit this l no the olded me especially in college would probably not take as much time to recover and actually take care of my body I remember back in college I was running so much that I actually got injured which made me sit down for 3 weeks because I had no choice based off of this injury but as I've gotten older and that I'm now a professional athlete I have to do a lot more in terms of eating healthier recovering sleeping and all those things that are wrapped around being an overall professional athlete now I can say I've done another water sport rest and Recovery has helped me to just not only recharge my body but also recharge my mind so that I can be ready for the day for tomorrow and then the next days after my advice to younger athletes about taking a day off and Recovery is that you need to make sure that you're doing it not just for your body sake but for your mental sake as well thanks for watching today's episode of Days Off presented by Jimmy Dean brand
