officially kicked off Saturday with Florida State and Georgia Tech in Dublin right Dublin y yeah and Georgia Tech got the upset win I wasn't that surprised with the outcome me neither uh DJ I'd say dj5 but he's dj4 now he was the Clemson quarterback a couple of years ago offense was very uh just not good while he was there and that's kind of why he got really kind of pushed out of Clemson I mean I think he left on his own but it was the riding was on the wall he he was he he just it just wasn't good there at Clemson uh he went to Oregon State Oregon state was successful they were very successful last season so I guess that was his audition to get to Florida State and take over for Jordan Travis who went to the NFL and we saw a lot of the same stuff that we saw at Clemson with DJ you gun or however you say his name um did you like my spelling on the sheet yeah yeah my probably pretty close um I just I put in the U and then G and I and then I just hit a whatever was on the keyboard and I felt like that was pretty close or at least we knew that we Brad would know who I was talking about yeah but yeah Florida state did not look good uh Georgia Tech had a gamer as a quarterback somebody that would basically fit that offense a quarterback that's can run and not afraid to take hits what was that Kansas State quarterback wasn't his name Colin kleene several years ago when they were really good that sounds familiar I don't know if that's correct though I I think it is uh I think it's Klein I believe uh the American Pie actor the guy who who said suck me beautiful like in the beginning I I think that was like I think that's his name like in real life and I I kept thinking like oh is it like that guy and that's what made me think that's Chris kin ain't it yeah you could be right K Klein and see and maybe I'm just saying I think that's how I remembered his name as I just kind of but I'm not saying that this Georgia Tech quarterback is as good as him because he he was a really good college quarterback but he he was pretty good Saturday Georgia Tech is known you know for their uh you know run first offense and um Smashmouth style of football and the offensive line looked really good and they got it done in the end with the field goal I mean uh DJ ug gun delay I mean had a he had a good drive on that last drive and a lot of people are blaming him I mean yeah that he didn't look good from start to finish he had a good final drive but uh Florida State couldn't get Georgia Tech off the field at the end of the game and Georgia Tech you know ended up winning it so exciting start to the college football season I didn't watch any of the other games did you I watched a little bit of there's like a D2 game that was on right afterwards I watched a little bit of that uh I think that was about it I didn't stay up late enough to watch the Hawaii game I had to do yard work so I just I worked in the yard the rest of the day and showered and by the time I did that I I did something else I I was I was looking at streaming at that point but week one that was week zero week one officially kicks off Thursday and our Arkansas Razer backs are playing Thursday in lit rock at War Memorial Stadium they are playing host to uapb that's the University of Arkansas PM Bluff golden Lions who have one of the coolest logos you'll see in yeah all of sports if um anyone wants to check that out it's a they're the golden Lions it's a lion logo with uapb worked into the the main it's really well done uh uapb was really good in like when we were younger like the 90s era uh but maybe early 2000s too but they've fallen on hard times since then and it should be a it should be an easy win for Arkansas and I saw that they are I saw that tickets were going for like $15 for the game they started off at like 20 and I think they dropped down to 15 uh someone sent me a picture of it today like on the UAMS website or something uh basically saying hey $15 tickets or tickets have dropped to $15 so it's Pro it's probably not going to be a sellout to be a Thursday night game and it's uapb in lit Rock it's the only litter Rock game of the year me being yeah yeah me me being a central Arkansas guy I mean I having lived in fville for seven years but being from Central Arkansas and having lived here the last going on 13 13 years I believe yeah I'm a central Arkansas dude so and having grown up in the lit Rock area I you know I pull for I want to see fans show up for the lit rock games whatever's left because you know when we were younger it was two games a year and it was always it it was like a a like a non-con conference game that would be like someone of a uapb caliber when I was younger it was like SMU and then you'd get LSU at the end of the year so you you'd get two games in Little Rock a year and they were usually big games or at least fans would show up and yeah and when Jeff long and Brett belma took over things took a turn for the worst for L Rock and the the attitude shifted at the same time time Reynolds Razorback Stadium upgraded and upgraded and upgraded to the point it's a major F college football stadium now and to go from that to War Memorial Stadium which hasn't had the only thing they've upgraded is the Press Box in the last 20 years and turn made the field Turf it's it's not something that Lit Rock has put money into as they should and I'm I'm sure they want to but there's just no money to put into it I mean that you got to put it into other things it's our biggest city and so you can't just put enough aside to put into upgrades at War Memorial Stadium and it's unfortunate I mean Northwest Arkansas Reynolds rback stadium is going to they have a lot more funding uh than the city of of litter Rock does uh but W with it being it I I work 10 15 minutes 10 15 minutes depending on the traffic from War Memorial Stadium I have no desire to go to the game I I actually have I have an appointment like a doctor's appointment I have to see my dermatologist uh yeah Thursday afternoon like 1 like 1:45 and off University so I'm I'm essentially like pretty close to the stadium and I I just I don't I don't want I'd rather come home and watch it just because it's it's uapb and yeah I don't really have interest in the game and but that made me think before we we're going to get into season prediction for Arkansas that made me think what there well there's a question put out today by NWA JB I believe is his name um he he's at the question was after 2025 how often should the Razorbacks play in litter Rock and it was like every year uh every other year every five years never again that type of thing and the the most of the comments were and it was typical Northwest Arkansas attitude about it never again I I can actually I can actually understand both arguments because growing up in lit Rock when I was a kid the only time I could go to a Razorback game was when they played in lit Rock and the University of Arkansas is in the very northwest corner of the state and if it's the state school there's plenty other places around the state of Arkansas that aren't going to be able to make it to fville a lot a lot of those South South uh East West Arkansas you know towns the only time they could make it to a Razorback game was when they played in lito but when I was a kid Reynolds Razorback Stadium wasn't anything close to what it is now war memorial has not upgraded anything but a Press Box you want to keep you want to remain the state school which I think he always will be really no matter what yeah except in Jonesboro maybe but um the the only it's I've got all these thoughts just just spinning in my head out say what said out with it man well it's just that I wish that the you want them to be the state school but with all the upgrades that Reynolds Razorback stadium has made throughout the years it's like a professional Stadium now war memorial hasn't done anything except to upgrade the Press Box and it's it's hard to make an argument for Arkansas to keep playing games in lit room I get both arguments Yeah so basically what would be the best way okay what what would you say what would your choice be as far as how often the Razer back should play there uh I don't know I'd be down for every other year probably until they can make the facility quite a bit nicer it seems like every time we play uh at war memorial we always have some some injury or a group of injuries just from that field um I I don't know of course then again I mean even if we go down to playing once every other year what's going to be the guarantee that they actually upgrade more Memorial to to our liking it won't be to it to the liking of I guess the Razorback Foundation of board whoever's running things it'll never be that um just because the city of lit Rock's in charge of upgrad in that and they just don't have the funding to do it and it's it's not a priority I did say they they do have what just upgrading the field yeah or just make sure there's enough water which it looks like they've done that I see that they have a lot of water stations like and they they put out where they're going to be on Thursday that was a big deal last year yeah that was it was an Oreal I think the B situation was bad too um I mean it's an old stadium a lot of history there but it's an old stadium yeah but to to me the the way the only way to really make it because really I don't have an interest in going uh because the games aren't any good it's usually it's either a really early game on Saturday morning against a just a nonconference opponent that's like d23 whatever but it's uh like or it's a Thursday night game you know it's a Thursday night game against the uapb and honestly it's kind of it's become kind of in the last 15 20 years even it's kind of become just a just a mess like a chaotic mess amongst like tailgating and all that it's sloppy it's it's not a very good atmosphere like really for family outside of the stadium to to me it it's a it's it's gotten really trashy and I I used to enjoy going and tailgating at war memorial I don't anymore it's just too it's it's a drunk Fest it's uh there fights break out every year multiple fights amongst Razorback fans you know it's not even razor back fans in the other school it's just razor back fans um just any any that's had too much to drink mouth something off and you know hands get thrown and it's just it's just not I don't know it's not something I really want to be around um on an annual basis and it's I don't know I I get the argument for why you want to keep you want to keep all the games of fil but I did think of a way that it could mean something if you played there every year so I was a big proponent really forever of Arkansas has nothing to gain and every the and everything to lose by playing Arkansas state by giving in and playing Arkansas State Arkansas state has wanted to play them forever in football forever and at least it seems yeah but they are playing then what in at war memorial next year I believe so yeah it's actually happening okay so why not see how that goes make that an annual thing make it an annual Thing game one every season neutral site or Memorial stadium so you don't have to go there and they don't have like UA doesn't have to go to Jonesboro Arkansas State doesn't have to go to fville come down to come down to Central Arkansas throw down at war memorial first game of the season every year get David basil invol make it a trophy game I mean why not we we got trophies for every other thing why not get basil involved come up with a trophy for it and I mean make it a big thing I mean you you think fans wouldn't get excited about that I mean that that place would sell out every year beef up security you know definitely beef up security make it a 230 game if you have to uh because my friend mentioned make it a Prime Time game like yeah it' be good but people be really sloppy by them yeah well well with Prime Time game too I mean you got to think both teams are traveling what three hours two or three hours to get to L Rock by the time the game's over and they're loaded up and get back to their universities it's one two in the morning so it's not really ideal for the teams to do a Prime Time game in Little Rock yeah I I agree but I mean a 230 game or put push it to four I mean do what you got to do um but make make that make that an actual I I don't want to it's hard to say rivalry game but I mean call it a rivalry game if you want but put put that on the schedule Arkansas Arkansas State game one every year it'd be a non-conference game that fans around the state of either school or really anywhere would would care about like that's something like people would care about I don't care about Arkansas and uapb Arkansas should run them off the field Arkansas Arkansas State Arkansas will win most of them but they're not going to win every they're going to be years Arkansas State wins and gets to take potentially that trophy back to Jonesboro you think they're not going to rock that and take all kinds of pictures with that I mean it's uh and all talk all kinds of mess about that yeah that that would be a that could be fun that could be fun it could be a money maker uh I mean war memorial will sell out every year if that's the game if that's the game I mean that's something that fans will get excited about anything you care to add to that or what do you think of that in general I mean yeah that'd be a great idea I mean if they actually go for it I mean I can't honestly can't see U OFA playing Jonesboro every year but who knows why not like you said it's I mean it's they have everything to gain U OFA has everything to lose with that one so but what what does Arkansas State really gain like some bragging rights every other year every five years do you think do you think a recruit is ever going to pick Arkansas State over Arkansas if they have the choice now yeah I mean you you can play in the SEC or you can play in the I what are they in the Sun Belt still Arkansas State I believe they're still in the fund belt yeah so I mean it you're not really losing anything there might be that one recruit every so often that says no I want to go play at Arkansas State but then I I don't know I don't I don't know if that'll ever happen really if they have a choice and they're a highly ranked recruit no they're going to go the U OFA if if it's up to those two and they're going to pick one they're picking Arkansas 100 out of 100 times so what are they really losing if you re if you really think about like I get it like if Arkansas beats them they should have beat them Arkansas State beats Arkansas oh what are you doing you know you you uh you suck whatever um oh gonna be a terrible year okay I mean but would would we rather see them play Louisiana Monroe at War Memorial Stadium or Toledo no got yeah I'd say it's got to be either a major matchup or yeah something that actually means something which that would you know that'd be bragging rights for the state so that actually means something and here's the thing I'm not I'm you or would you rather play uh I don't know you're not going to get a BigTime school to come down there to play so and you don't have to you don't have to pay Arkansas State you don't have to pay Arkansas State 1.5 million to come to lito to play you Arkansas State's going to come play for free financially it only makes sense like if you're I mean LSU plays in state schools every year I mean Arkansas is I mean they are shifting to that I mean you're playing UAP now you're going to play Arkansas State next year why not show up show out next year and look at this and say we got something here or go ahead and already prepare for it but they're not going to do that but if next year if it goes well I don't see why you don't jump on that opportunity because if you're Arkansas it is a game that you're supposed to win to start the season and it's a game you're going to be like you want to be challenged like you want to be challenged Arkansas State's not going to be t as talented as you any year but they're going to play like it's the damn Super Bowl yeah and like that's what you want that's what you want from your opponent as a as a true test before you get into lead up to conference play I think it's only a good like the more I think about it the more I'm sold on it like it only makes sense not saying Arkansas is going to do it I don't think they will I'm just saying I think it would be a good idea because Arkansas isn't Alabama Arkansas is not LSU the football team I what what Prestige is there really to lose you know yeah I mean come on like like now if it actually happened if it actually did happen hypothetically I think it would be more like kind of how Lono and Carlile like our our hometown um the and the cross town it's not even a rivalry um it's a smaller town outside of our hometown Lan Oak who always wanted to play LAN Oak every year in football and they Lan Oak Didn't Do It For the Longest Time just because they were like no we're going to place bigger school school that's closer to our side Etc and Carlos say they're scared to lose all that type of stuff they finally end up playing made it a rivalry game made it a trophy game and Lono I think they played for seven eight years and Lano beat them all but one time and Lano stomped them most of the time in those games like it wasn't even close and basically it just it fizzled out from there um it really didn't make sense for either school at that point uh so it could be something like that if it actually happened but let's find out let's let's let's find out and see what happens it would be if anything it'd be fun to talk about for a while all right so uh anything to add to that Brad ways to improve it if it did happen I don't know about the first game of the season but I mean other than that I like it if that's the game and if if that's the only game at war memorial you're going to get like it doesn't have to be the first game of the season but if that's the one war memorial game any time of the year why not right then I think putting it at the first of the Season makes the most sense everybody's healthy uh I mean why not to me obviously upgrade the war memorial if you can field facilities Etc do what the I'd say do what the Washington commanders are doing with their Stadium but lit Rock doesn't have that kind of money Northwest aransa does but not the city of lit Rock okay um let's go ahead let's move on and do a season prediction for our Arkansas Razer packs right I have the schedule right here in front of me I don't know if that showed up I covered the camera but okay Thursday Arkansas pal left the golden line 6:30 p.m. and ESPNU another reason I'm going to stay at home and watch because I actually have that channel you and I both do yeah uh I got Arkansas on that what say you I would say the the Hogs get that one they have a 90 almost a 96% chance to win that game uh by the numbers I forgot what the spread was it's something ridiculous it's I think it's in the 50s or something like that I'm not touching that with a 10 foot pole but I think I would take the I would take the under on that I don't think that's going to be are we talking about the overall score no this is like the spread oh no I I would take the under on that I don't see that happening um but I mean Patrina is back running the offense so we'll see okay week two uh September 7th Saturday at Oklahoma State it's a morning game on ABC Oklahoma State 17th in the country Arkansas not ranked we expect both teams to be one and0 going into that one I would assume Oklahoma State's game one is but uhas gets Arkansas gets two extra days of prep for Oklahoma State um you really no I was gonna say it's not going to be enough especially you know with them being on the road at Oklahoma State I just not seeing them pulling it off uh this early in the season but I mean it is early in the season so who knows I'm still going to go with uh Cowboys I got Oklahoma State we're not doing scores or anything we're just we're just talking win loss we're doing a season just just what Arkansas's schedule is all right next week they got UAB it'll be the first game in fville at Reynolds Razorback Stadium that's a 3 it's an afternoon game on SEC network who you got in that I believe Trent diler is the coach of UAB isn't he I have no idea I believe so he's turn he's turned it around some but I'm gonna say Arkansas is going to get their second wi of the Season there yep I'll agree all right so two and one for Arkansas heading into week four at Auber uh you freeze year two I got Auburn in that yeah something crazy always happens at Auburn there's always something that goes down that cost the Hogs uh you know if it's not a blowout I'm gonna take Auburn yeah it was it wasn't even close last season it was only a blowout it was embarrassing I turned it off I believe in the second quarter second or third quarter it was it was as bad as I've ever seen Arkansas play Okay um Texas A&M at Cowboys Stadium September 28 um I'll be running the five the Great Pumpkin Run 5K in Lano that but as of now A&M 20th in the country they they're playing number seven Notre Dame to start the season uh on Saturday so I will probably watch that one um I got Texas A&M what about you oh yeah I'll have to go with Texas a& I mean I can't remember the last time Arkansas beat them they've been close a couple of times but remember the last time we I think when Patrina was the coach or did Arkansas beat them one year under belma I think they beat him one year under belma okay it'd be one year it wasn't more than that okay um yeah I think you're I think you're right what what about that year under Pitman when they went four got close we got close yeah we had the lead and I think they took it over at the end well I got Arkansas losing the next two against Tennessee and LSU both are home games but Tennessee got yeah I got them beaten Tennessee okay that'll be the day after my birthday October 5th so yeah I've just got two wins so far you got Arkansas three at Mississippi State I will get Arkansas a win there agree well was the score this past season three nothing Mississippi State it was just a dismal performance by both teams uh I'm gonna say Arkansas makes up for it this year that that was one that left a bad taste in pretty much everybody's mouth on that team so yeah I'll say that Arkansas gets Mississippi State I don't think that's gonna matter that same team that that's not the same team this year that's the thing about matter um I think it does it's not the same guy so it's not going to leave a sour taste in anyone's mouth um but coaching staff at Mississippi State still haven't found an offensive guy to replace Mike Leech Arkansas has Bobby patrino running things I've got Arkansas in that one uh the next game at old or excuse me home game versus Old Miss uh it's Old Miss and Texas number six Old Miss and on November 2nd and then they get a byee and then they get Texas at home after that um I don't see Arkansas winning either one of those I think the old Miss game could be closer than people think just because it always is but I still think all I still think Lane leaves with a W uh agree or disagree oh I agree I agree okay so losses to Old Miss and then Texas uh I've got Arkansas beating Louisiana Tech on November 23d uh I assume you'd agree with that y then at Missouri November 30th uh battle line rivalry game it's a series it's a series call rivalry it's it's a not hasn't been a rivalry it's been all Missouri yeah uh I don't know how many times Arkansas's had the trophy maybe twice maybe three times yeah uh I've got I got Missouri seems to be on the rise they got their quarterback back um Arkansas is just trying to climb out of the pits right now um I've got Missouri in that same all right so i' I've got four wins you've got five I've got five yeah so five and seven for Brad four and eight for me uh some some razor back we're going to win one we're not supposed to so why not Tennessee yeah but we could lose one we're not supposed to also so it would this this is true yeah I've got four wins either way okay so there you have it well and so having said all that will Sam P Pitman be the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks at the end of the season after the Missouri game okay just no no I think it's going to be unless he pulls somehow pull six six out of his hat no yeah I don't I don't see it happening um I think the I think the coup is already being set up I think it's going to be a a like a Democrat Party thing um where you predict you you know it's coming like it's not yeah it's not even subtle like everybody knows the fixes in but that that's what's GNA happen uh Biden all right let's kind of throw them to the wolves in this unnecessary early debate and see how it goes oh it went like we thought it would now we can OU him and then kind of change the narrative and push comml um I like this coup a little bit more um I think that yeah I think pitman's going to strug as we've seen Pitman has struggled in head coaching kind of decisions uh whether it be uh taking the foot off the pedal too early uh not going for it when he should uh not kicking a field goal when he should U burning timeouts for no reason burning timeouts for no reason it's stuff that we've seen ju just uh too much of in the last couple of seasons for sure uh he's a I think he's a good position coach and I think he's a good I thought he was a good recruiter up until last year when it was the most atrocious offensive line I've seen an offensive line coach put together um yeah I think when they're not holding they're jumping off sides so it was it was terrible I think the fix is already in I think Pitman will be pushed out at a certain point probably after I don't know that he makes it through six games I think we'll go I I think the opportunity will be losing four straight losing to Auburn so so go going two and one but then you lose four straight to Auburn A&M Tennessee and LSU and honestly it could happen after Texans too if you get embarrassed by what's supposed to be your Southwest Conference rival I think there's two opportunities LSU and Texas if you get blown out in either one of those I think people are GNA I think the people making the decisions are going to see the opportunity and all right here's our chance because the last thing you want him to do if that's what you're wanting is to see him win a game he's not supposed to and get gain a little bit of momentum it's like okay here's our chance time to go what what if uh by some miracle we lost those four straight by last minute field goals still four straight losses and they probably or no you would probably you'd say okay we we got another opportunity like like they're going to beat Mississippi State probably or maybe they don't and if you get blown out by Old Miss Andor Texas I mean it's a it's it's a good time to say all right let's make a change and Pitman out patrino will naturally get pushed ahead coach maybe the offense there's a spark and like okay this is gonna be our guy because we're hoping we can get what we got in what from 2007 2011 whatever it was you're hoping you can recreate some of that magic I think the I kind of think the I think the fix is already in I I think that's kind of what we're going to see at some point conspiracy but to me it's a little bit it's a little bit obvious something you can kind of see coming yeah I agree okay so both of us say no okay having said that you think he's gone well after what game do you think he's gone uh H man it could be Old Miss or probably Old Miss man I think I think I to Texas you think after Texas I think after Texas uh the record will be poor enough there I I think it'll be after Texas that's enough for part one guys I guess we're going to come back with part two because we got stuff still got stuff
