60 Sec Book Rec -- "Demon Copperhead"

my name is Stephanie and this is my 60 SEC book [Music] wck this is demon Copperhead by Barbara King solver um it won the Pitzer prize U for a good reason this book is excellently written it's a modern it's a modern retelling of David Copperfield and if you know anything about Charles dickens's work you can extrapolate from that that this isn't exactly an uplifting story well it has a uplifting end but like a it's it's said in modern day Appalachia and it centers around a lot of the opioid epidemic that's happening in that area and the main character demon is really what his voice is so funny and upbeat and he's just a real Scrappy Great Character to follow and that's really what makes this uh part of what makes it such a great read even though a lot of like like so many terrible things happen to him so go in knowing that but his voice is so wonderful Barbara King solver is just really a master Storyteller and if you feel like you can handle some heavier stuff you should give this a try
