practice one to where we are now good great strides um doing a great job of the details of our assignment uh young guys are more growing uh both are understanding the offense and their development skill-wise so and the veterans are getting better so I've been very pleased look like you got in the stadium and did maybe some scrimmaging on Saturday is any takeaways from that you can share yeah no it was good it was uh yeah we did a little bit of little bit of live action which was good and uh most of it was a regular practice but the guys did a great job it's great to get in the stadium get get used to it's always a great venue just general kind what what is kind of the benefit of of the stadium kind of practice is it just simply being in a different environment yeah getting getting comfortable being being out there especially for the young guys that's the first time they've ever practiced or you know played in it so um getting used to seeing it and kind of going through those and just just uh that's really it um and then for coaches kind of getting a feel for being on the sideline all that are there some particular position groups or players that you've especially noticed progress over the three yeah I mean the young running backs are doing a great job they're they're being uh you know pushed in terms of getting lots of reps and and and they have uh they've done a really good job just just as far as Klay Patterson's concerned what what kind of talk the growth that you've seen from him from beginning of Camp through now and been been huge I mean he's he's just such a big physical player brings a lot of maturity and physicality uh it's going to really help us out this year and he's a great fit in our team as well just an awesome kid great team player uh we feel very for forunate to have on their team I know a point of emphasis for the team this year defensively was getting more takeaways and it seems like in practice that's been the case how have you assessed how the defense has matched up against your offense yeah know they've done a great job they're uh you're right had a couple turn a few turnovers today which was great they work at it really hard and their drills um flying around to the ball emphasizing punching out getting hands on the ball on the defense line of course the DBS are always always looking to get picks but it's been uh definitely an improvement look like that first o line is Maybe shuffled a little bit more than anticipated what are you seeing from some of the different combinations well we're just trying to find the best combination so we you know we got some pieces that we like now we're just trying to to find what the the best mixture is you're going to have to have good flexibility uh to be able to move around position by position just because throughout a year you know people are going to get dinged up it's a physical physical game so uh some of it we we do just to get them work in case it has to happen and then while we're doing that we're just trying to see the what's the best combination for us as a team uh you played a few freshman last year it looks like you got a few on the second team right now how close are they potentially good yeah no they're going they're competing I mean there's the Freshman they come here to compete and and if they're the best players they will start doesn't matter that they're a freshman like I said uh we got guys that are that are freshman that are that are definitely competing for a job looks like elizer BR had a couple nice touchdown passes towards the end of practice there in the Red Zone just talk about continuing his progression yeah I mean he's Way Beyond his years you know he's he U was here in Spring football which helped but his demeanor is really good he's really accurate he's got incredible anticipation and it's just uh his demeanor is always the same he's just uh he's not a super high or low guy he has fun but uh he kind of stays kind of right in that area which is which is what you want for quarterback how do you kind of manage like like Playbook installation during this period cuz you got some some some true fres that were're here in the spring how do you kind of make sure those guys how you just got to manage play from Spring question I think at the the start when they first get here you bring them along slowly and now they're they got to keep up because we're getting to the point where we're going to play so they got to know the whole Playbook now they're going to make some mistakes and as a coach you just got to be tolerant that you know there's going to be a bust every once in a while just because they're saturated with how much you know in our case on the offense or on the defense it happens the same thing on defensively uh so you just got to be tolerant of making understand they're going to make mistakes but the only way to learn is to get in there is there a point during training camps where the coaches kind of go God I really wish we could start hitting guys with in different jerseys and other folks you reach that point now it was probably the day for the the players for sure um you know our guys are are feisty and they're tough and they're not backing down we love that uh but you know you you do get tired of going against the same guys they know the plays that we're running we know the defenses they're in and you're getting tired of blocking the same guy over and over again you get a little testy happens to every in every camp in in the country so uh but the real it is we got to be a great team that practices well together we're we got to be physical but we got to take care of each other and that's just the way it's going to have to be for another week in half Jackson Harris missed quite a bit of the spring what's he been able to do here in the he's had a great Camp he really has uh you know disappointed he wasn't able to do much really in the spring but um he's really come alive uh he plays the ball really well in the air um he's getting more familiar with the offense we're really excited about Jackson just uh one point I'm kind of curious to checking on is fiser Anderson just kind of what we seen from him and his kind of progression yeah fish has played a couple different positions for us you know guard and tackle and fish is one of the best team guys you're ever going to be around he's an unbelievable leader loves his teammates loves football and he gives us a lot of flexibility to be able to play guard and TCT just with M for talk about kind of his experience playing quarterback and how that maybe helps him as a running back and does he ever joke about switching positions with you guys yeah well I mean I was talking to him and he's and I'm like uh hey can you you can throw the ball a little bit he's like coach I I played quarterback in high school I'm like yeah Micah I recruited you in high school I've seen your highlight tape like 20 times anyway uh Micah has had an unbelievable Camp um he is it's tough for run young running backs to come in and they can always run the ball but the protections and the complexity of the scheme is always something that the young backs can struggle um he's learned it very well his physicality H protection how he catches the ball his ability obviously to run through tackles and he can throw the ball which is always an added benefit when you're coming up with trick plays we got time for one more just uh do you have one or no I was just going to ask about Jay Green at safety how's he kind of progressing acclimated to the defense really happy to to have Jay you know he um he's a big physical guy that can run came to us he was a corner at Washington um and we're playing him at safety and he's done a really nice job of adjusting he's physical like I said big and a hitter um he's going to he's going to really help us out all right thanks
