Paracanoe world title number 12 for Australia's Curtis McGrath

Curtis another world title congratulations World title number what do you reckon for your number 12 12 nice nice round number it is yeah yeah um no it's it's it's great to have that honor and you worked hard for it the competition out there was pretty tough today um you know gave me good little scare in the middle but um I knew my strength and that's at the end of my race I can't panic and I just had to keep to my keep to my guns and push on I think from the very first time we saw you uh on the world stage starting hasn't been your strong point you still haven't got it right what's going on um I think um in deburg I nailed everything um the conditions are right I was just bit more connected here I just slipped a bit and you know these things happen but um still got the result and but you know things to work on and things to look forward to as well what do you take out of an event like this it is a World Championships of course but I guess more importantly it's your first your final big hit out before Paris yeah I think it's it's good to like cement where our strategies are from our training blocks in now training sort of Cycles so focusing on you know getting being in the right phase at the right time um a lot of us have trained right into this event so um when we go to to Paris it all about tapering and and you know sharpening that Spear and making sure that we've costed all the teas and dotted the eyes so I'm really looking forward to that opportunity and seeing how fast we can go and hopefully the conditions of Paris are just like here and Curtis when we go back to when the sport made its debut it was very very different to what it is now there are so many more countries now the athletes getting faster uh it's a world of difference isn't there yeah everyone's coming up everyone's getting stronger it's um it's pretty amazing how fast each every new competition everyone's stepping up it's um it's pretty incredible what we're seeing and and the development of our Sports it's great to see how you feeling your head of the bar uh yeah it's it's that's getting harder and harder I mean I really had to work for it earlier today and um I enjoyed that race at the same time um it's going to be hard hard work tomorrow for the final all right good to see you back on the top of the podium World mate thank you
