Investing in Our Schools: My Journey to County Commission

2012 there was an opportunity for the County Commission to enact a tax to rehab our schools and uh four years later the voters brought that to the community in the form of wc1 and we're about to invest a billion dollars in our schools in our community and in 2012 if you'll remember that was the depth of the recession when we had um the largest unemployment in the entire nation and just think what an influx of money could have done for construction workers and all the ancillary benefits in our community to invest in our students and that bothered me and that brought me back to being a kid feeling so helpless because I didn't have a sidewalk walking to school and I thought wait County Commissioners are humans I can run for County Commission and um that's when really where my journey to run for County Commission started
