their big man IA zubach 58 point 66 million contract extension over the next three years definitely guaranteeing him a 4year 70 million contract with the squad according to according to ESPN's Adrien wowski with the wge bond um ESPN's Bobby marks provided a three a year-to-year breakdown for this situation he's making um in 2025 26 18.1 million 2026 27 19.5 million and 2027 28 20 $1 million For That season at just 27 years old ebot has shown growth pretty much uh over the last couple of years it is this ninth season I didn't know that it seemed like he only been around for a couple of years but last year he averaged 11.7 points on 65% shooting 9.2 rebounds 1.2 blocks per game and over 68 Starks last season um he did have one year left on his contract they wanted to lock him in and I'm thinking it's because of how he played in the playoffs my man took care of business in the playoffs last season uh especially against uh and let me see pull it up real quick because I want to get the stats right I had it pulled up but uh he did have a good playoffs for the for the LA Clippers he averaged 16.2 um 16.2 points a game in their Western Conference playoff series Lost to the Dallas Mavericks that was a big uptick over his 11.7 points so maybe they believe that he can put together a season worth of that with a couple of shots being um opened up with Paul George leaving the team now this does help them in a sadly recap situation a lot of players have uh player options uh James Harden has a player option uh where he can opt out uh and get get to take $36 million off the books Nick Batum can opt out Kevin Porter Jr can opt out so essentially um in the 2025 2026 or the 2026 2027 season the only contracts the teams have on has on the books right now it's kawh Leonard at 50 million wow Derk Jones at 10 millions and then uh you got zubot with his contract extension as well the the Clippers could very well be rebuilding that year depending on how things go over the next couple of Seasons so hey it's not a bad thing for them to lock up one of the leagues not NE neily Premier big men but definitely a consistent one who can take care of business down low protect the rim and put the ball in the basket uh as it was shown in the playoffs but on to other news the Grizzlies guard Sensational guard young man GG Jackson suffers a broken foot and he's going to have surgery next week he'll be out for the foreseeable future according to Tim B bontemps um from ESPN uh they say that he broke his fifth metat tarsal in his right foot earlier this week in Dallas and will be having surgery next week while playing basketball outside of Dallas on August 27th after attempting a contested layup Jackson experienced an unstable landing on his right foot the grizzly said in the statement per the Michael Cole of the Miss Memphis Commercial Appeal subsequent Imaging revealed the broken fifth metatarso in his right foot which will require surgery to repair this young man at just I think 18 or 19 years old averaged 16 14.6 points 4.1 rebounds 1.2 assists and 48 games for the Grizzlies last season he was a second round pick and he showed a lot of Promise in fact he showed like he played like he wasn't scared Memphis is one of those teams that last season didn't really play as well as we know they can play because of just all types of injuries and all types of off thec court stuff and John Morant not playing uh they had Desmond Bane was out as well they getting all those guys back Jamon Jackson Jr Marcus Smart uh they picked up Zack Edy uh but losing GG Jackson hurz this guy is a stud and I'm pretty sure they were looking forward to seeing him take the leap this upcoming season and a lot of people are expecting the uh Memphis Grizzlies to jump back into the playoffs in that western conference after missing the playoffs last year and probably we're going to overtake the spot that the Clippers had with the Clippers kind of losing Paul George and um kawii Leonard being in and out as it were you know as he's want to do uh maybe Memphis was going to overtake their spot but now with this GG Jackson injury I don't know if it hurts them as much as it hurt was to see them lose Desmond Bane and johnar or or to see them if they would lose any of their other big three players but hey no don't do that I they going to force it through while I'm recording my
