Can I beat the F1 2024 Dutch GP Pole Lap?

Intro Formula 1 is officially back after the summer break which means can I beat the pole La is also back and what a way to return as yesterday Duran qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix Lando noris put in an absolute wey of a lap time 310 quicker than Championship leader Max for sta in his home race and half a second quicker than his teammate in the same Machinery Oscar pastri setting a 1 minute 9.6 absolutely Bonkers like literal Insanity in terms of lap time a real statement returning from the summer break from Nores looking of course to try and close the gap in the driver's Championship so in this one we're going to try and beat that time for the first time ever we are debuting in the VRC formula Alpha 2024 which has been highly requested by you guys in the comments so let's see how we get on now right now tires are freezing cold we've got the car in default settings I've not changed anything uh we're on medium tires so we're just going to do a bank laap and see what we're looking at here Pace wise First Lap and then we'll start hopefully ramp it up turn one Taren lots of camber around this track including turn one so you can use that to your advantage through the Kink oh first spin of the day just about tapping the barriers there so we'll try that one again no idea what end I'm in right now but we didn't hit eighth gear at the end of the straight this time we get a bit closer but we'll hold it in seventh so turn one no issues I think we're going to struggle with that c that corner that curb where I spun to be honest the way that the track kind of gets all light also got to decide if I want to go high or low Through The Hairpin does The High Line work as intended in real life or you know this being a game is going low better sector one then done into shl this is all flat took a little slight lift there but that will be flat that was not nowhere near flat and that's a big shunt car feels very loose on the back end in general at the moment obviously we are on a default setup tires the rears down to 93% so those incidents hurting us in terms of rear tire wear and rear tire grip let's try and get a lap on the board still yet to achieve one and I just can't get the car to work at the moment so clearly I'm having a bit of trouble driving this track so I've already made some changes to the car I've whacked on the highest downfalls kit for a start as I feel like we need more downfalls um also there are those Corners where we are going to struggle being turn three where we where we spun twice and also the fast right after Shri black so um those two corners the car seems to get a bit bumpy and struggle for grip either way let's see what we do now on this proper attempt where hopefully also taking some fuel out the car we should be a bit more competitive so and the car should hopefully work as intended just got to take it very easy through that right King cuz as we go over the top the car gets super light and the track Falls away so the back end wants to just completely get away and get loose for now though it's a good start all flat through here this time fully fully committed and now through this there's a nasty bump right there which just makes the car bottom out and I can't control it it's really horrible so uh yeah I guess we're going to have to drive even slower through there even though I I can really send the car in I'm just not getting the group that I want there we go right we're through let's try and finish our first official clean lap of the video Never struggled this much to get a single lap done before the Zone here short shoot and then into bit of a heavy Brak chicane which feeds into a hairpin lots of cber to get the car turned and now one last break in zone to go 90° right you can use all that curve on the exit as we open the DRS onto the banking to finish off the then let's see first lap of the day line we cross out 116 so exactly 2 seconds away but we've already made some C tweaks so let's get some soft tires on put some more wing on the car and let's keep making more moves right then let's get to it this is going to be a bit more of a serious lap time now soft tires on half the fuel also more wing and we're going to try and crank up the pace a little bit so here we go DRS open out of the banking as we get the lap underway down towards Tarzan turn one you can break it the 50 pretty much use the cber get the car to turn open up the Taps as we run a bit wide and bottom out through turn three over the curb take The High Line definitely the way to go through turn five back on the juice as we plow down this straight with has plenty of Kinks and plenty of curves or in s to go flat through schlak TR to minimize wheel input and now through this tricky bomb where we struggled all video long there we go carrying a nice bit of speed try and stay tight front left is screaming at this point although we're still a bit low on the temperatures so we can definitely go a bit more on the on the tire pressures a bit lower open the DRS as we head down the back straight and now into the Chan hapin combo flying Hing in there fourth gear oh getting a bit loose dipping the left rout in the gravel so we execute a bit of a a drift final Corner pretty much for me even though this is the last one it's an easy flat corner so you don't really count it two purple sectors bit of a mistake in the third but plenty of purple mini sectors up to the line we go and it's a 111 so with that mistake probably well into the 10 so I'd say we're roughly a second away let's keep making more changes we need to get those tires more in the temperatures windows so we're going to play with the pressures a little bit so now minimum fuel strap mode two which is the highest strap possible let's see how we go this is going to be serious seriously quick now so let's see if we can get close and at least get into the nines or close to that here we go then down towards turn one on the brakes getting the car stopped nicely open up the Taps don't run wi this time keep it on the track just avoid that inside curb which can be a bit risky Highline back on the gas straight away lots of grip now the car working very very nicely just top out six over the top of the hill bit of uphill climb just holding it all the way through here now through the bump nice there we go through the very tight right there the front front left just really gives out temperatures are still not climbing so generally just low temperature low track Gip into the chicane let's not put a w in the gravel this time so a bit more of a cautious entry that's more like it bit of a snap on the exit but we'll take it again two purple sectors carrying some speed there through the P Corner as we now open the DRS through the B King run up to the line let's see 109 six to beat oh we match it we match it I'd have to double check what the exact time was but oh my goodness that was close that was pretty much all of it anyway so I was going to say after this we're going to go into full sweat mode to try and beat it so we don't really have much more to show for it already in strap two which is the quickest available so I guess I'm going to do that now and just try to improve although I have to check to see if that's already the time but I wanted to try and go quicker anyway so let's get to it Best Lap [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Setup so as always let's talk about the setup so C3 soft tire which is what they're running IRL as the soft disc compound pressures for some reason it reset to 7 but I was running well I thought I was running 16 so we lost a bit of temperature on the front so I might have gone quicker with that to be fair but 1615 would have been the pressures fuel 6 L and offer 2.6 laps uh five is 2.2 2.1 it's a bit tight so I just went a bit on safety Electronics strap mode two which is the quickest possible mode to go in aerodynamics High downfall kit and I increase the front wings as well breaks 55 bias then over to diff I kept default the same goes go for the most of this stuff um I found the VRC car very complex um engine mode pu mode quality 2 and engine map to high to basically have full power available and then everything else stock as yeah the car felt pretty fairly balanced it was all just basically in just running that higher downfalls kit so that's the setup hopefully
