so today I'll be continuing with my schedule discussion and point spread prediction videos today I'll be doing Vanderbilt so there's really nothing good to say about Vanderbilt they're a terrible program they're going to be terrible this year and they always have been the worst program in the SEC and football uh I know they're a good academic school but football and academics don't really mix too well uh and uh it's really gotten worse for them the last five years they were still bad before then but they were at least a little bit competitive in the SEC but these last five years so you know that there's 12 games on a schedule in the season well Vanderbilt has a toal to of 12 wins in the past five seasons combined uh that averages in between two and three wins a season only and in the conference the last five seasons they have a total of three wins uh and three out of the last four seasons they've went winless in the conference uh and they haven't been to a bowl game uh since 2018 and uh they've only been to 9 bowl games in school history which that is awful because you only have to win six to get to a bowl game now and uh I think there's going to be a big difference between Vanderbilt and uh whoever the second worst team in the SEC turns out to be I haven't decided who I think will be that second worst team this year in the SEC but uh I think it'll be teams that uh are um quite a bit better than Vanderbilt but still not very good I think it'll be between uh Mississippi State Arkansas uh Florida and South Carolina that'll be trying to avoid finishing closest to Vanderbilt this year um and really Vanderbilt just needs to go to I think the Mountain West Conference they don't recruit well at all uh they are so untalented all the time they just don't belong in the SEC they they really don't even belong in the power four anymore uh and uh so there's some bad news with this schedule um so uh and some good news with it too um the U interesting things are now they aren't playing Miss uh and Miss has been their uh rival from the opposite division so they've been playing every year I'm an Miss fan if you don't know and I'm going to miss watching them beat up on Vanderbilt every year I actually got to see it in person last year year and uh they don't play George now this year with the changes in the SEC now that there aren't divisions so that's some good news uh because that would have been a huge blowout U and some bad news are uh they don't get to play Florida uh who they used to play every year uh when they were in the same division and they also don't get to play Mississippi State or Arkansas because those are teams that uh vanderbelt might have been able to get a win against one of them U and so they start uh the season against Virginia Tech and uh Virginia Tech is going to spank their bottoms below uh Virginia Tech is is going to be much better this year at the beginning than they were at the beginning of last season uh and uh then they play alorn State uh that will give them one win uh because alorn state is an FCS team um and then they play uh Georgia State on the road and then Ball State for their other two non-conference games uh and you would think that Vanderbilt could win both of those they're supposed to be able to with them being in the SEC and these not even being power four teams but uh uh they could lose both of them Georgia State isn't terrible and ball state is not FCS and um they start their conference schedule on the road at Missouri so this last off season I thought that Missouri was a game that maybe Vanderbilt could get a win in in the SEC but that's completely changed in one year uh ESPN has Missouri ranked number seven right now now I don't agree with that but I think Missouri will probably be a top 25 team at least again a whole lot better than vanderville um and then they take a week off before playing Alabama uh this is a game that uh having a week off uh before playing them and playing them at home will do them no good this is a one Alabama game this year where I don't think Nick Sav absence will be noticeable and Alabama will destroy them so badly in this game and kayin dor these past two seasons has been uh the fourth best head coach in my opinion uh behind Nick Savin and Kirby Smart and Jim Harbaugh um so Alabama is still going to be well coached and very talented a whole lot more than Vanderbilt is going to be and then they play Kentucky on the road after that um and there's not much of a chance in this one either uh they did beat Kentucky the year before last but Kentucky is much better coached and they do have a much better roster than Vanderbilt does now Kentucky I know used to be similar to Vanderbilt and used to be a game that Vanderbilt could win sometimes but uh I would give them close to a 0% chance to win that one this year and then next in the conference Texas that being at home is not going to do them any good well Vanderbilt has no HomeField Advantage anyway but Texas is going to beat them up so badly that may be a 50o loss for vanderville uh Texas is going to be one of the best teams in the country this year I think and then Alburn on the road not much of a chance here either alurn may not be able to blow them out but uh they're much better coached and more talented than Vanderbilt is going to be um and it is so hard to win it Auburn and that's going to be a lot more harder for a team like Vanderbilt to win at Auburn uh when Alabama could barely do it last year and then they play South Carolina at home so I think this is Vanderbilt's chance to get a conference win this season if they get one I think it'll be this game against South Carolina because it's a home game and South Carolina is not going to be very good uh now I still think it's unlikely that Vanderbilt can beat South Carolina but there is a little bit of a chance but South Carolina has owned them for the past more than a decade so they'd be doing something they haven't done in a long time if they beat them and then they take a week off before playing on the road at LSU that won't do them any good they're going to get blown out by LSU it's not going to matter that jayen Daniels isn't their quarterback anymore in this game and then they play Tennessee their instate rival if you want to call it that who is now way ahead of Vanderbilt Josh hyle has uh gotten them uh to be a better uh football program these past couple of years he's the best coach they've had in a really long time and Tennessee I think is GNA have way too much offense for Vanderbuilt to keep up with and uh so now I'll move on to the point spread prediction so if you want to see more about how I do these point spreads you can watch my first video of these the Ohio State video video I explain all about it in that video but games in the grand are games where I think Vanderbilt will be favored to win by a blowout 20 or more points and there's one of those alorn State Games in the blue or games where I think they'll be favored by double digits which is 10 to 19 points and I see one of those Ball State and games in the uh purple or games where I think Vanderbilt will be favored by about a touchdown six to9 points and there was one of those Georgia State uh and games in the uh yellow are games where I think Vanderbilt will be an underdog by about a touchdown so six to9 points and there's two of those Virginia Tech and South Carolina and uh games in the orange or games where I think they'll be an underdog by double digits uh 10 to 19 points and there's three of those Missouri Kentucky and Auburn and games in the red or games where I think Vanderbilt will be a blowout Underdog 20 or more points and there's four of those Alabama Texas LSU and Tennessee so alorn State Vanderbilt should be good enough to be favored in that one by somewhere in the low 20s and Georgia State I think Vanderbilt will be favored by around seven and Ball State uh I think they'll be favored in that one by around 10 uh Georgia state would probably make the blow if it was the home game uh and uh Virginia Tech I don't think Vegas will go real high with the spread because Virginia Tech was only seven and six last year uh I think the spread will be eight or nine points uh but uh I would be shocked if Virginia Tech only won by eight or nine points and South Carolina I think the spread in that one will be around eight or nine points also uh those two games though would be in the orange if they weren't home games uh and uh Missouri and Kentucky I think Vanderbilt will be an underdog in both of those by around 17 points and then alurn I think Vanderbilt will be an underdog by a couple of touchdowns uh probably 14 to 16 points and Alabama the spread in that one I think will be around 25 points and uh Texas uh that'll be in the high 20s I think it'll probably be like four touchdowns and LSU I think the spread will be over 20 but probably in the lower 20s and then Tennessee the spread in that one will probably be about 20 points so I really couldn't see vanderbelt winning any more than four games this year uh they'll probably only win uh two or three games again uh but that'll be it with this video and please subscribe and thanks for watching and I'll be back soon
