but I was really impressed with shador um now it was North Dakota State University but whenever someone throws for 400 yards I'm like oh yeah like y'all got it and four touchdowns one pick the only pick being one that went off Bros leg insane I saw someone say next time you see college football 25 cheat you with a crazy play and you say stuff like this doesn't happen in the game put this play on because stuff like that absolutely happens and I remember when the game first came out you saw a play just like that where the ball ricochets off someone and flies like 20 yards and to see it happen in week one it's like all right maybe the game's not cheating dude that's literally called Athletics like people people forget like like honestly Madden's not realistic because you got the best players in the world doing the best player things right college football absolutely realistic because you got the the not the best players in the world and the goofiest [ __ ] always tends to happen absolutely you talked about how impressive the 400 yards from shador was what about almost 200 yards in week one from Jimmy horn in three touchdowns I mean a lot of hype around Travis Hunter but Jimmy horn had himself a day were you impressed with performance yeah bro Jimmy and Travis and I came with saying this and maybe this is my overreaction absolutely I I feel like I know what you're gonna say go ahead they're a top three Duo at wide receiver in the sport I thought you were about to disrespect the Buckey oh no no but these two top three duo in the sport dog and I heard a caller on the show Chris Greenley on your show say that he wants milin Graham to be like Jimmy horn and I like that's a great take by him where do you think Jimmy horn would be in the Ohio State wide room right now um knowing how disrespectful we are probably fourth is that you being disrespectful or Ohio State being disrespectful that's Ohio State being disrespectful me Jimmy horn front of the line stop it don't to be able to keep this up the entire season we talked so much about how everyone thought Garrett Wilson was slower than he was because he had dead legs by the end of the season because we don't rotate our wide receivers at Ohio State how is he gon to be able to maintain playing both sides of the ball for 12 games notless unless he's taking peptides with a HGH base like there's really no way dog like he played 50 snaps on defense and he was so how do so how do they manage this going forward do you think he take do you think they take more snaps away from him on the defensive side of the ball the offensive side of the ball I mean anytime down I don't think they can afford to take snaps away from him on defense like you take him out on offense you still got Jimmy horn out there and the omaran guy who you know had a big freshman year last year in some games like can can play the play the position and if shador is as good as you know he's talked about being as a true first rounder he should be able to elevate those guys but that defense needs help Capital HP they're they're they're bad on that side so he's got to be a playmaker on that side of the ball I think will they be able to control themselves of not putting him on the in the game anytime they need a play every time it's third down you hear the announcer saying this is Travis Hunter time do you think Prime will be able to control himself and not put him in the game if they have him on a pitch count but they need a big play and he's screaming to put me in the put me in the game dog it's like it's like World Series guys to New York and they got five losses but how much of the record um how much of the record criteria has to do with national attention you know what I mean you're able to produce the same level of because they have national attention do you think that'll Garner the ability to get both to New York is that what you're saying because that's what I'm asking will the national attention and Prime being Prime be enough to outweigh is the record actually what gets these guys to New York or is it the national attention that comes with being one of the best teams in the country that's kind of honestly Ron that just [ __ ] me up and I don't know if we'll know until this year that's a great point because like part of it is like because I think about the guys who won Heisman on not great teams lar Jackson did it that Louisville team wasn't overly impressive I think no they weren't and I feel like Prime getting this Colorado team with the deficiencies that we all know it has to a bll game would be equally as impressive as what Louisville did that year no and you can go back even further like that Baylor team was not very good when RG3 RG3 yeah but they had national attention because they were so exciting to watch and I feel like you're you're dealing with such high ends of the spectrum as far as what we're talking about with what's going on in Colorado with a guy playing on both sides of the field something that we haven't seen and definitely at this caliber I don't think ever honestly playing that high of a caliber a quarterback and making that much of a difference on offense and then you have a quarterback that's potentially a top five pick in the draft if you have two guys that caliber regardless of the record I mean it's not the best player on the best team award it's the best player in college football and I would argue that if Travis Hunter was on any team regardless of record he's probably the best player in college football if not the most valuable you're right he's just going to get blown out and not look like the best player and he's he's going to be guy that I think gets nitpicked but that's wild that's wild to think about I guess I never viewed it as like national attention that that's kind of like a different a different kind of take on things and because of that it's such it's a it's a voters and a writers award they're gonna have so many writers looking to try to get one of those guys to New York but both both feel feels like a stretch absolutely Ely I it definitely would be a stretch but I definitely don't think we can roll it out especially if Travis is playing on both sides of the ball and you have another quarterback uh at 400 stolen for 400 yards a game another uh buff I wanted to talk about former Ohio State running back D Hayden transfers to Colorado nine carries 20 yards we've known the offensive line struggles at Colorado did di Hayden get caught up in the hype of prime and make a bad football decision as far as his college choice I mean it looks fun in the end zone when he's celebrating with shador and Travis but I don't know how fun it is when you're running behind a line that has you running at 1.8 yards per carry yeah dude like what do you have like 20 yards yeah D um D bit the cheese D fell for it um can't blame him too much because Prime I'm sure is a great salesman well they bring in like four new offensive linemen and then they started seating on the left side yeah four four transfer offensive lineman and then a true freshman starting a left tackle yeah but I mean they pass Pro pretty decently but they cannot move anybody off the ball and that's what looked against NDSU it's gonna look real ugly real weird against some other teams I think how did you think Satan looked on Thursday pedigree and the athleticism and ball skills of a wide receiver how can you pass that up a corner who would you rather have Garrett Wilson or S Gardner and there's your answer yeah well you got me collectives but they want recruits to think they have one of the top collectives so they're getting these articles out there so in recruiting meetings they be like look our Collective is doing things the right way they're going to be there so they lied about it they tried not only did they not have it they [ __ ] catfished it and this is the first case second case of the nil catfish but it's not all doom and gloom for the piss gunks they still have the 13th class in the country coming off a national championship you would expect something better than that but it does seem like things are to see how this class plays out uh once the Smoke Clears from the or once the Smoke Clears from the investigation do you think that will help them out or do you think that'll push boosters away if they have a Fallout um it'll push boosters away boosters will want want clearance especially when it comes out um like I don't know there once sanctions hit everybody's going to take a a big step back three receiver in all college football Luther Burton depending on depending on your preference right thoughts on that room as a whole including Ohio State transfer mookie Cooper um I think they're a oneman band but I don't know too much about him I'll have to read more on him um just just before I give like more more of a take but I do know Luther Burton I do know that that room last year as a whole got absolutely put in handcuffs by ABIA I'm interested to see how much the new college football 25 impacts starw of some of these players I know a lot of people that know the name Luther buron now because of that game and being one of the top cards in Ultimate Team one of the best wide receivers in the game is this game going to start making more college football stars because I know tons of people that follow college football casually but play the game now and are more than aware of who Luther Burton is yeah bro honestly like Luther Burton I think was was GNA be famous enough but the sellers kid from South Carolina is getting so much hype and love solely from the game and I blame 25% of it on you in that four bir attack you run with them I don't know know revolutionizing the sport with the four verticals offense yeah that's that's a that's a fact so so we we know we know that but um yeah no I mean honestly like so you the way I got into the NFL because I was always a college guy was through Ultimate Team and I can see that happening more and more with college football as Gamers who play the game are now have more eyes on college football so so yeah I def I definitely see it I mean it's hard not to because it's another Avenue I'm up things how embarrassing is it going to be for the first person that like someone that's like maybe a sophomore or Junior that's pretty highly rated in the game just based off of like star power and people thinking they're going to play this year and then they come out and lay a dookie and they come back next year rank like a 67 bro ass players with like high ratings dog that's how we're [ __ ] getting down we talked a little earlier in the show about this West Virginia Penn State game I don't know if I'm lying to myself just because of my personal bias for the two schools I almost went to West Virginia I kind of got accepted to Penn State I was accepted to Penn State but couldn't go to Maine immediately year one so I always hold that against Penn State as the only school I did not officially get into so I'm Ru for the Mountaineers I don't like this Penn State team a lot I think they have a ton of questions on the offensive line I think they are experienced but not very talented on the interior of their defense I think they can be had West Virginia was nine and3 last year they played their worst game the first game of the year against Penn State I know a lot of Penn State fans are referencing that game as far as uh a peak into what could happen this year also referencing that was one of Drew all's best games but uh West Virginia went on that season to finish off the year nine and three only two other losses both one score games could Penn State be had today I think so this is a couple things Ron whenever I sit down and think about upsets I need a couple things to be true especially ear in those first three weeks I need experienced teams experienced teams at home with experienced quarterbacks I think always give make me feel better about early like those games early in the season West Virginia has that they have returning production on both sides of the ball they've got an experienced quarterback and that game is at home and is that game at home or is that game at Penn State no that game's in West Virginia it's morg time Pat McAfee they cancelled school because of the traffic for the game day setup because Pat McAfee was returning home to WVU growing up in Pittsburgh being right next to that like three team rivalry the hate of Penn State West Virginia and pit like if you're choosing between those three schools West Virginia like they know how to party like I if they win this game they're going to be burning couches in the street over a week one game like the way they do it like West Virginia I feel like you know how you talk about you got to have that team that like just embodies College tradition like that is what I think about like West Virginia is one of those schools where the football team is the biggest thing in the town it is a huge event in the town when they play they have big rivalries the Backyard Brawl before they stopped playing it was one of the best rivalries in college football and then they know how to party and then when they do win they celebrate so I feel like they embody all the traditions and like some of the craziness that people dislike about the the flipping cars the burning the burning couches bro when they destroy Morgantown after a win me personally I love it I love it's not my town so how to live there you know what you signed up for when you when you signed up to live in Morgantown West Virginia it is a it is a frat town is how I would describe it is this their Super Bowl this year absolutely I mean pit they don't like while pit is the bigger rivalry this game means more to them like I don't think that they view pit as the caliber of opponent as they do Penn State this year and the ragging rights what it means for recruiting like a lot of people like get lost in the big stars of recruiting in the Big Time programs but like these Regional games have massive impacts on Regional recruiting for the like Maryland Penn State a game that people don't talk about but Maryland and Penn State go head-to-head for recruits all the time these Regional games and Regional matchups have so much of a ripple effect that I can't wait to see the Fallout of this game West Virginia money line you you're you're bet your money Ron I got this for you stat-wise last year West Virginia averaged 31 and a half points per game do you know how many more points that was than the Penn State average I want to say Penn State probably averaged around 26 and a half points less what because their average they scored 18 more points per game than the nitty Lions oh never mind I'm bugging wrong stat oh okay I had it thought I had a good stat did not have a good stat did not have a good stat bad do you expect Drew Aller to have a big game against West Virginia I mean a lot has been made of his performance towards the end of the year but I mean a lot of teams that criticize Drew Aller would kill to lock in 24 touchdowns four interceptions from their quarterback so I mean can Drew Aller build on the season that he had last year he adds Julian Fleming Trey Wallace is healthy Trey Wallace was out most of last year and he had his best game of the season against West Virginia last year can these guys find some sort of success this year morg so I think people are down on Drew all because people only watched drawler in two games last year and I think those two games were likely the Ohio State and the Michigan game both he didn't look very good and looked like a like a true freshman lost quarterback even though he was a retro freshman and I think basing your assumption on Drew Aller off those games is dangerous because what do we all say about those two defenses they faced they're two of the best defenses in the country two of the top three at least like so they make everybody look bad so like don't discredit their quarterback and your defense when it's really just one of them but Dre's got a lot to fix and I think a lot of that was Mike yuch who we saw Ryan Day fire of course um I like drawler I think drawler is going to be a top a top 10 quarterback this year do do you think this new uh coordinator from Kansas Benefits his play style I mean Kansas likes to move the quarterback uh I don't dude I think I think Andy style is so different bro I mean what they did they used like like Jason bean and Penn State and go the traditional Penn State path I was just talking to a buddy I was like if Drew Aller goes on the Shawn Clifford path and follows the path of Penn State quarterbacks before him Penn State's gonna have four quarterbacks in two decades with how long these guys are going to be here and if Drew Aller stays for four years if the Baseline is what we just saw from a uh a red shirt freshman and he stays another three years what is the ceiling for Drew Aller I don't people writing him off with the expectation of oh he's going to leave for college or leave for the NFL after three years if he stays and develops I don't see why after what he put on film last year that Drew Allard cannot be still a day one day two pick bro do you know who the top five passers in uh in Penn State history are um I feel like I probably do know that Trace Murley sha Clifford Matt MCL uh the guy that stole tp's position in Oakland um you have oh man I'm missing one right there in the middle like starting a true freshman a sophomore and then three Juniors at offens line uh who will all have a combined six starts in their career um your best returning offensive lineman had an injury this off season correct yeah that was Char uh Charles Jaga he was gonna be the starting left tackle that was going to replace Joe Al and he tore his Peck early in Camp he's done for the year so they uh they had another transfer Junior that was maybe going to start uh Tony Baker I think his the name um but the Freshman that came in just beat him out I mean so they they talked about starting a more veteran offensive line because of the environment at Kyle Field but at the end of the day the o line coach and the offensive coordinator uh Den Brock just decided these young kids are better they gonna they're going to play the best five regardless of age experience all that and so it's a very young inexperienced offensive line um and it's going up against what I think is a pretty pretty good defensive line uh there at Texas A&M um so it that's the main concern is how does the offensive line handle it and can they protect Riley Leonard high hopes for Riley is he gonna is he gonna have a Jaden D Jaden Daniels type year the white Jaden Daniels the white JD yeah I think that's probably a little a little overzealous or a little like if he can have half of that that'd be good but um no I think I think ultimately there's a lot of lot of high hopes for Riley and I think he's supposedly he's 100% healthy surgeries went well this offseason he sat out the entire spring didn't he have 17 ankle surgeries every time I saw D his feet were up in the air like he was the Shan Watson bro like my had several ankle surgeries yeah he ended up having to go back and having another another one uh at the this winter so he had an initial ankle surgery it didn't do what it was supposed to apparently and so he had to have a second ankle surgery sometime in Winter and then he sat out the entire spring um learn Den Brock system from the books and just mental reps I guess um but ultimately the uh the expectations are very high for him um I mean they really hoping that he can be Sam Hartman 2.0 and kind of do what everybody wanted Sam Hartman to do last year but we'll see is there a storyline in here because oh yeah Riley Leonard played for Elco yeah yeah that that's uh that's one of the big story lines is he played for Elco at Duke and almost they almost beat Notre Dame last year um in the game that actually Riley Leonard got hurt in so it was the last play of the game I think he got rolled up on messed his ankle up and he had a he had a funny comment about it he was asked about like is it weird that you're playing for the team that ultimately ended your year last year for injury and he said yeah they hurt me and then they had to pay for the surgeries because Notre Dame's health insurance given that injury history and the concerns at offensive line how worried are you guys about making it through the season with a healthy Riley Leonard yeah that's uh I mean that that's my main concern uh obviously offensive Line's huge concern but it given the type of player Riley Leonard is he likes to move around he likes to extend plays I mean his his legs are a big part of what makes him a good quarterback and so that kind of quarterback just takes more hits in general than you know somebody like a Honda McCord who just stands in the pocket um but it it's really concerning I I think and they they have a decent quarterback room behind him Ang jelli is not bad he's a I think he's a sophomore junior um and he he could come in and he he could be serviceable I think with the team that they have around him ultimately Notre Dame's defense is excellent it's going to be one of the top five defenses in the country I think you could put Angeli in you could try to throw CJ Carr in um and how CJ car had a good offseason he had a really good spring um so yeah and and I haven't heard much about him in Fall Camp because the focus has been so on getting Riley up to speed because he didn't he miss the entire spring um but no yeah he was pushing for the that backup quarterback spot in Spring um and they went with Angeli just because he's had more experience and more time in the program but I think if Riley Leonard got hurt I wouldn't be surprised if I saw CJ Carr come out and and at least get a couple series to see how he does um ultimately I think the quarterback depth is fine I I think they uh to make a playoff run and to accomplish the goals that this team has I think Riley Leonard has to stay healthy final score prediction and a surprise player that manace Army should keep tabs on for the season for Notre Dame um so final score prediction I have Notre Dame winning 247 I think it'll be kind of a low-scoring game just because both defenses are really good um and I think offensive line and the Notre Dame's offense will struggle to move the ball early um a surprise player that I think has to break out if Notre Dame wants to get to the level they want to be at is Bo Collins the transfer from Clemson he's gonna have to become a wide receiver one uh I think him and Chris Mitchell the other transfer uh wide receiver have to step in and take that wide receiver play to the next level because that's been something that hurts Notre Dame for years is they just don't have dudes at the skill position at Le I have a fun I have a fun Bo Collins story okay way back in the day I don't know have I told you this one before Ron way back in the day he was in the same class with AA right and AA was the top wide receiver on Ohio State's board the number two wide receiver on Ohio State's board was B you know why that's important because Marvin Harrison Jr was also in that class and Bo was the X he was the guy was like oh like that's the X and so when Bo Collins committed to Clemson they liked they liked Marvel a lot obviously it there wasn't a panic button but it was like it was Bo or Marv was gonna be their ex and the way the chips fell Bo ended up at Clemson Marv ended up at uh at Ohio State and then Troy stellato ended up at Clemson 2 who was also on Ohio State's board so Clemson and Ohio State split their board in half and somehow Clemson ended up with Troy Stato Bo Bo Collins and Ohio ended up with acha and Marv and I think we know who won that split yeah yeah that's not even close [ __ ] crazy so that's uh that that's my little that's my that's my little short story that's my little short Bo Callum story so I'm hopeful for Bo cols for real yeah he's uh he he came in late he missed most the spring because he was finishing up something at Clemson I think class or something but uh so he didn't get in right away so he wasn't in the spring game or anything like that but fall camp they they've been real high on him he's been balling out and so I think he has to come in and be an impact player for them if they out but I definitely noted him with all I mean they they returned so much experience on the defensive line and in the secondary Benjamin Morrison is going to be fighting for best corner in the in the nation with Will Johnson de elberg Travis Hunter those Tykes um so yeah I definitely think they're absolutely a top five defense I I absolutely agree I was super impressed by Benjamin Morrison last naare if you get fired after this season in that schedule how fair is that and who the hell wants that job like why would you take that job hey come play the hardest schedule in college football I mean you have a talent-rich recruiting ground you're in the South it is a te it is a football power but that schedule is a gauntlet and even with 12 teams that is a hellacious schedule to have to go through and still try to make a 12 team playoff no one will ever make a 12 team playoff with that schedule it's outrageous like so someone did the math like their um their last two months of the Season it would be like an alltime difficult schedule that's disregarding the early G early games in the year like that that's how loaded their schedule is and for Miami you're in the ACC and you've got a pretty manageable schedule a schedule that should you know result in 10- two um as the floor quote unquote and you've got you've got the pieces you want the spending it's Mario Chrystal balls year three his offensive linemen are Juniors at this point the class that he recruited like it just feels too much it feels too much like Miami is heading in a good place they're gonna stub their toe they're gonna have to stub their toe this this seems crazy coming from an Ohio State fan but is this the game of the year it's it's yeah what I mean what are your other I mean obviously Ohio State Michigan to end the season Ohio State Oregon on the 12th where where do if this is not the best I say arguably is just mayly be because of my bias and I think it's it's not game it's not Game of the Year it's not Game of the Year game of the year on Twitter it's Twitter game of the the Twitter game of the year because in my in my blogosphere my piosphere whatever you want to call it in my college football Universe while the cover Theses and the other Nationals are going to be talking about uh the big games and and the national powers that are likely going to be competing for national championships man the the regional Wars that are going to break out on Twitter over this game we talked earlier about what that Pence State West Virginia game means for regional recruiting in the north I mean we're talking about the same thing down here in the South with Florida in Miami the ripple effect of this game the momentum that whatever team wins because if this could be a a a job-saving win by Billy with the Good Vibes and the hype that would follow a win from Florida I don't know no I what do you think I mean I I think yeah I think if Florida's able to get this done the ripple effect of the how the fan base is going to feel after this and obviously I feel like it would be an indication that this team might be better than they're projected to be on paper maybe they do I mean I think five six wins is a success from Billy Napier with the schedule that they have this season and if they're able to get it off get the season started with a win against a ranked opponent in Miami I think that would be a huge start to the season for them and potentially keep Billy in Florida I mean it definitely I don't know if it keeps Billy in Florida it definitely strengthens his case but what it does it [ __ ] heats the seat up Mario you think it heats the seat up for Mario I feel like if Miami loses this game they still have everything ahead of them being that this isn't a conference loss for them the ACC is weak and if they still win if they still make the playoffs despite an early stumble out the gate Mario still has the potential even with an early loss and the expectations what we have with this team a lot of young guys on defense that are going to be getting their feet wet early in the year if they're still able to write the ship win the ACC despite the loss and what the and that's why I think this is the Twitter game of the year because there are going to be crazy people ready to fire Mario if he loses this game with their everything in their entire season still ahead of them even if they lose this game and I think that's why it means so much and it's one of those great rivalries in the sport and I think the idea that Mario and people having hot seat conversations about Mario despite still having everything on the table is what makes this such a big game this year I guess like like opt optically though you think Mario can survive a loss to this Florida team you think so I mean he I think people were over the Georgia Tech loss and if with enough success he rebounds with a a great running back Edition in the transfer portal he goes out and gets a cam Ward they win an offseason national championship and they're right back on they're right back on the Mario train so I feel like even if they do lose the the temperature under the seat will get super hot but if they continue to win out and they write the ship and they do what they're expected to do the rest of their schedule and handle the ACC I I feel like it'll go right back to normal and they'll be talking extension if he wins an ACC title they've been in the conference for 20 years and never won it I know losing to uh Florida early in the season would be egg on their face but if they're able to write the ship and get their first ACC Championship they're I mean their trophy case is bare for the last two decades if they're able to put something in there how do you fire the guy just because he lost to Florida you're right you're right I guess I think that if if they lose to Florida I think they will stumble down the road I don't know if Mario will stop the bleeding but that's just like a pure projection no that's also one of my fears that they the team quits on him but I feel like they have so much to play for if this game was week three week four maybe later in the year and they stumble like this it may have a more lingering effect but with them having cupcakes earlier in the season and ability to write the ship after I still think there's hope for the team football what are you looking for today from the Buckeyes what am I looking for today I'm looking for Jeremiah Smith early that's that's really it I want Jeremiah Smith early um and and I want I want like downfield passing game to these wide outs cuz he and Carell Ted I think have a chance I think probably are the two best X receivers in the country or project to be and we have one at x one at Z and I want to see downfield passing attack and then I also want to see what they do about the guards because I don't think Donovan Jackson's gonna play today so that would do you think they bumped Tegra over to left or do you have him start at Right Guard the position he projects to play and put one of the backups I would assume Austin srael is the next guy yeah probably Austin or Carson Hinman played a lot last year okay I mean and it is Acron so he should be able to get away with one of those guys like playing guard for a game like just filling in that Donovan Jackson spot so I I think you I think you leave T where he's at and then just like do just a quick flip with um with Donovan and whoever is is the backup whether that is Montgomery or if it's Austin um or you know Hinman I I think that SP and I also want to see how much Gap in power we run instead of just running the stretch stuff I mean Georgia Tech put on that Gap that Gap scheme Clinic against Ford State and you felt them moving guys off the ball and I want to see if Ohio State's got some of that in there as well you talked about Jeremiah Smith I want to peel the curtain back a little bit Juck pressed me on my own show the other day and he caught me he caught me lacking and held my feet to the fire he asked me how many targets would I be okay with if Jeremiah received a game this year and I thought he meant catches and I said three yeah and then I was too proud to admit that I thought he meant catches not targets and he held my feet to the fire and said you can't only throw the ball to a generational Talent like that three times is Jeremiah Smith going to receive Mar level targets if he is the X re starting x- receiver this is the Ohio state offense do you see a more balanced distribution from these wide receivers or do you think that we see only do you think that we see Jeremiah step right into that marvelall and see that level of production or that level of targets for him um I think I think if he is if he is the true x no you won't see Marvel level targets bro because honestly those Marvel level targets came from the fact that jsn got hurt Oh I thought you were gonna say because his high school quarterback was throwing him the ball no no no no I'm talking about the year before like jsn got hurt cuz obviously think this offense like more favors the slot um and when jsn got hurt you you saw the volume of targets outside and then that next time around um honestly like there was no dominant slot presence so I think he and like comic Court I guess was told to throw in the ball every trip on the defensive side of the ball we talked about it a little bit earlier in the game you have the over in this game which would require I mean I don't see Ohio State scoring 70 points themselves not rolling it out though but if akan were to put 10 on the board even in garbage time with how much hype has been made I mean we can tease a question that we're going to talk about on another program here in the future but does Ohio State have a top five defense in the Big 10 with their second string defense if they give up 10 to akan I feel like fans might still be a little bit upset I feel like this is kind of the nitpicky type of team that Ohio State has that this team is so Elite that fans are going to have to nitpick to find something to complain about but when you're constantly viewing this team through the lens of can they win a National Championship people are constantly nickp picking and I feel like even if we do see a defensive laps that allows uh akan to put up 10 points I feel like I think that's probably too high for my liking 17 and a half was our over under every year for or every game last year for points scored on his defense I would be shocked if akan touches double digits well I think it depends on like who they score against right like if they score against like the threes like late late in the game do you Ryan Day talked a lot about the importance of building depth on this team early in the season do you see do you see threes playing today yeah I think I think threes will play like those last like four drives in the fourth I I think so um I think I think if if they score if akan scores early you're going to see the Meltdown um just like you saw with like like when Howard scor people are like oh not a playoff team it's like all right bet um I think if you see the punter in the first half for allio St I think people going to have a melt down like oh the offense isn't clicking or or whatever but um it is important to remember that there's gonna be some like weird first game stuff we have a two-headed monster in the backfield this projects to be a game where backups play Early how do you think they handled this running back rotation in years past I wouldn't necessarily call them two-headed monsters but in years past when they have a dynamic one back they usually have a power Runner that beats up on the defense towards the end of the game I don't feel like either one of those guys is fit for that role not fit I feel like they're both more than capable but I don't think you're putting either one of them in to beat up on defenses late in the game how early do you see both of them come out of the game do you feel like they both lose their helmets at the same time uh during blowouts and it's the James people show because like I asked Q on the buck I roast earlier in the week over under one and a half or over under two and a half 100 yard games from James peoples D Hayden ran for three as a true freshman with those guys both projecting to be NFL backs next year potential day one day two picks you're not going to be running them into the ground does this open the door for James people to make a name for himself early in his career as a buckeye I think so I think that D and excuse me not D I think that Trey and Q lose their helmets uh after the first drive of the second half and then I think you're going to see um him and Sam Z Dixon getting of work just because like you want to keep Trey and Q healthy so I think there's a good chance to get them work too I mean Ryan Day might be forced to do the thing that he hasn't done all all his whole career and like get young guys experience because you got to get guys he you guys got to stay healthy so I expect them to lose their homet at the same time I think James peop will do a lot for himself and become a household name and I think we'll have to like deal with some tampering well no never mind most years we'd have to but not not this year what do you think will Howard is going to show the Buckeye fan base that impresses them the most today against akan it depends on how you feel about Ryan day like I think like do you think Ryan day is gonna try to prove a point like he did with with uh with ran day doesn't call plays at Ohio State so I know but he's part of like putting together the game like that whole like hello Columbus moment you had like with Justin Fields hello Columbus but do you feel like Ryan day because I feel like we've seen a tonal shift in Ryan day this off season where Ryan day seems more confident and sure of himself and it's almost like you know like when you go somewhere and you don't knowbody know anybody and you're a little bit nervous but then if you roll up deep you're with your boys like I don't care if I know anyone here like it's not going to be a problem like Ryan day has his big homie up in this Press Box calling the plays it seems like Ryan day is walking around with a different confidence and I don't feel like he needs to prove himself to Lou Holtz on at 3:00 today like I feel like Ryan day has a job out there that he's completely aware of what he's required to do this season and I don't think he's out here trying to prove a point to anyone I think Ryan day didn't come out and show hey I'm a CEO of this program and it's gonna look how it needs to look to win I don't think he needs to prove anything I think Ryan you disagree no I think I think Ryan wants to get with Howard to New York really I do I do would seem to be an odd choice of the quarterbacks that you've had to try to make it stumble in like 3600 yards and like 300 rushing yards and probably around like 35 touchdowns I think that plus being Ohio State quarterback and undefeated will get him to New York do I think I'll win go-to because it seemed like anytime you went into the Red Zone they were looking for Cade who becomes that Target for the Buckey this year I mean I don't know I I hope it's I hope it's one of our receivers let's not lock in on a tight end in the Red Zone this year man like give it to JJ let him ball out man slot Fades from JJ to JJ all game I I'll be done with that yeah that's what I'm saying it's going to be a tight end and it's going to be G Scott and it's like like us having G Scott is like like oh yeah like they got KD but we got Jaden McDaniels like that's that's the equivalent that's what we're doing umide ends and not and not um and not receivers we saw Devon Brown get hurt last year in the Red Zone because our red zone offense was so anemic earlier early in the year that they wanted to use Devon Brown's athleticism to shake things up and he did it with success before getting injured and probably would have been a pack that we saw more last year had he not gotten hurt how big of a factor is Will are will Howard's legs going to be in the Red Zone this season for the Buckey and do you think that adds a new element to the offense because that was the first name to came to mind maybe G Scott or maybe the tight end isn't the biggest target but the biggest asset in the Red Zone will be will Howard's legs this year I mean like yeah that's what it should be that's why we brought him in like I I want to see this I want to see the quarterbacks run in the in the Ohio State offense again like make make run make quarterbacks run again that's that's my uh Ohio State slogan this year scramble drill I just want to see some scramble drill to be honest yeah man I I think will is going to really add an element of this offense but I'm definitely interested to see they made an emphasis about the Run game being a big part of the offense and all of the quarterback needing to be able to do it I'm interested to see how much they run the other guys too once they start to get in the game who do you think we see first Lincoln or uh or Julian it's gonna be Julian Chris what have I been telling you my biggest fear regarding Julian saying is around this team I don't wanna I don't
