Branden Cook, Spencer House, and Thomas Doherty Talk Tell Me Lies Season 2 and Their Characters

[Music] so thanks so much for joining me today I've got Brandon Cook Spencer house and Thomas dhy talking about Tomy Li season 2 which is coming to Hulu on September 4th 2024 with its first two episodes premiering that day it is the followup to tell Li season 1 with a new character or a couple new characters including uh Thomas's character more lies more sex more drama everything you would expect in a followup I very excited to talk to you all so thank you so much for joining me thanks for having us for having us D Lov to meet you man of course pleasure to meet you all so first question for the new one the new person uh Thomas you are new to the show how did you get involved in this season how did you get to get the role of Leo I am so I I heard about the show and kind I came across across my agents's desk and I watched it and I loved it I thought it was amazing uh everything about it the way was shot way it was written and I met with Megan on zoom and then I F to LA and did a Cham read with Grace and I just worked with Grace's little sister on Gossip Girl H who's just an angel and so I asked her like what's Grace like because I wanted to meet her before the chemistry read um so I wasn't just pulling up being like oh hi I'm going to be your boyfriend right now um yeah you had to get some background right you want to make sure that you had chemistry right before the chemistry yeah exactly I just feel her energy kind of like tap into that and obviously Anna her little sister was like she's amazing I like of course you're going to say that but for some reason I thought I was going to meet Lucy she's so good at acting I thought it was going to be Lucy so I thought I was going to walk in and be like and so I walked into the coffee shop and I was trying to find her and then I thought and I was like wow you not what I was expecting at all and yeah we just chatted for a bit and she's a wonderful wonderful human so funny so talented did the chemistry read and yeah lucky enough to De able with that's awesome that's awesome I love that you in your mind it was GNA be Lucy and not Grace I love that as well I thought it was Lucy I kept saying that to her I was like [ __ ] hell you're so nice she like yeah why wouldn't I be you keep checking behind to see if you're getting stabbed in the back [Laughter] good stand so Brandon and Spencer you're back uh for this season what was it like to come back did you get any time off or did you just kind of like jump right into this I guess we'll start first with Brandon since you're you know on my bottom left oh hey uh yeah no we um well everybody had to experience the strike unfortunately so we thought we were going to come right back um I believe at the top of the year was and uh unfortunately because of the strike we had to wait until was that the top of this past year oh wow like that so uh had some time off not not wanted but it was builds character I guess I don't know um but yeah it was cool it was great to come back I was very excited uh that's also good you know this is a semester later right this is the next semester so it's almost like you had a summer break you had a little bit of growth you went and you know studied abroad maybe had some personal growth worked in internship um so you all are back now in this new season this new semester at be College are there any changes to your characters that uh you know people can expect for this upcoming season any you know for better or we'll start with you Spencer um well um everyone's still making um poor decisions which makes the show fun I mean that's just College college is just poor decisions right but it builds character yeah especially these guys especially this crew um yeah I mean I I I guess I can speak for my character I think I think Wrigley is uh uh dealing with a lot of what happened in season 1 with his brother and with falling off the house and um you know uh and and he's trying to keep a front on like everything's good and uh and uh we'll see if that um you know bubbles up to the top but that's that's I don't know if that answered your question I hope that answered your question no it does it ansers it perfectly what about you Brendon any uh any new changes for uh for Evan this season I I'm sure there are plenty given what happened at the end of season one yeah sure uh I think there's a lot more uh stress this season that Evan is having to deal with um and all of it is mostly his own fault one way another so I think uh yeah I think you'll see a very very stressed out Evan this season that's well it's good it's good to add some some more depth and uh Thomas your character is coming back from studying abroad I'm curious have you ever studied abroad maybe this was studying abroad maybe you know filming in the states with studying abroad for you it sounds like you are uh you know from another country yeah I'm from Scotland so I mean technically I did study in Scotland which is abroad to hear um but I remember coming into a lot of the scenes and stuff and I remember seeing like the red cups in the be call like oh my God just like the movie no never never studied in front that's awesome so this is you know like you're you know you're you're experiencing what it's like in a very specific type of American college a very dramatic uh very specific kind of American college yeah so last question I'm curious all each of you we'll start with you Thomas when was the last time that you told a lie the [ __ ] I said that I'd take my dog for a walk oh this morning for I went for a shower instead your dog is judging you your dog is judging you Brandon what about you you could you could pass if you don't want to say but to lie I think I've been pretty honest recently actually I don't think uh I think I've been pretty good recently so I'm I'm sure my inner self is like nah you tell somebody you liked it and you didn't or something small and stupid but yeah I think pretty recently I've been pretty good I try not to I think we all say that but that's good it's fun that you can play a character that's not like you on on TV yeah that that is fun and it makes for way better TV and spener really quickly what about you last that was Brandon that was Brandon's last line yeah yeah and Spencer what about you really quickly what was the last time you told a lie uh nothing nothing big but you know you'll be like going over taxes and someone will say hey how you doing and you'll say good but probably not at the moment you know what I mean like something small but no nothing like big or anything so all innocent white lies that these people have told but you can check out their bigger lies their more impactful lies in tell me Lies Season 2 which on Hulu on
