Good afternoon and thank you so much for joining us. Dallas police are investigating after three people were shot in downtown Dallas. Yeah, this is breaking news that we've been following all afternoon. In fact, it happened in a building on Commerce and South Saint Paul Street, Britney mon crease has been on the scene there all afternoon and has the latest on what is happening right now, Britney. That's right. Well, w FAA sources tell us that police are looking for the suspect, they believe is involved in a shooting, injuring three people. It happened just behind me at the Continental. It's an apartment building that is downtown Dallas just blocks away from City Hall. People have been allowed back into the building. However, you can only go in using the steps. So there's a lot of people who may have complications while walking, who have not been able to return back home. Now, here's what we know. So far, residents say that they were inside the homes when they heard multiple shots ring out on the eighth floor. They say at least a dozen shots were heard. Dallas police say three people were shot and taken to the hospital. Uh, we were told that two of those people are adults and one is a 16 year old. Now, we're told that all are expected to live. Uh, one person who was shot was able to make it into the elevator and that elevator is used as part of evidence. We're told that the 16 year old is a student at Conrad, that's a Dallas ISD school. And right now, uh, police have not given much information about the suspects that they're looking for. But one resident that we spoke with told us that, uh, she heard those gunshots and 10 minutes later, she was rushed out of her unit on the eighth floor. She says she saw the officers using equipment to pound into one of the units that was also on her floor. It was nerve wracking, it was frightful. It was scary. And when they rushed me out, like I didn't get to grab like my things for me to see because for my vision and I just ran out with my house shoes just being fearful, not knowing what's about to happen next. And residents tell me that they've been concerned about their safety here for some time as they've seen multiple incidents occur recently. We did see police speaking with a group of young men, some carrying backpacks earlier this afternoon. And just a little while ago, we did see Dallas ISD police chief here on scene. Now DPD says that this is still an ongoing investigation and we'll keep you updated as we learn more.
