New Jersey Made Its Transit Free...We Took Advantage (in the dumbest way possible)

all right we're here at Penn Station Governor Phil Murphy has made all of njt free for the week this New Jersey Transit and so we're going to do a really fun adventure yeah you ready let's Go's do it oh thankfully we're safe from longdistance busing today we're we're in the njt part of first time you you've not been getting like a grunt from portar God actually miles I booked you a surprise five seat uh ride to um Los Angeles on five different carriers that means a lot hi Sunny there's a oh this is Suburban Transit oh God all right uh 156 right8 oh eight okay so we're going to 202 we're not going to be needing these cuz it's free we are going from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to the George Washington Bridge bus terminal this is a intra Manhattan trip via New Jersey we're breaking all sorts of international Carriage laws and it's the big disaster we're doing it completely for free at Port Imperial and River Road 202 right how does accessibility work here none of these Gates Sunny that's a really good point I think there's like a special way of personing get loaded on oh that sounds really dignified well that's part of why they're like blowing up building it is cuz none of the gates are like remotely accessible don't stop at the top proceed to the end of your line it's just so Lial how it's like there's a lane and we're looking at other birs same over lanes over here but isn't every other part of the terminal like totally different like there's other architectural designs there are two levels of this by the way 300s don't look like this 300 are like standard like back the 300s are like the Long Haul so these are like the 3 really busy routs the bus is on we're we're heading out so usually you'd have to have bought a ticket before getting on but today there are no tickets the line Starts Here look the dispatcher Booth ooh that's really cool Reef view with all the other lands you thank you I love how just like prints out another re for every here we go we got a actually quite busy busit is this I love coming out the it's also way better than like the real crawl you get like a gry house yeah street level so we're just like elevated right now it's the bus we're flying we're going incredibly fast funny is we go straight into the tunnel it's a dedicated entrance watch oh my God so we're here now we're just we're heading straight in would there be a bus lane if it was a weekday no inbound look at that we just get straight direct into the that's awesome you know the the up this one what You Know The Soprano's intro right no I'll check to you later but trust me is this what I'm getting out the front of this articulated bus where you can't really see this far up it's it's you get it yeah coming out when you go to Daylight when is that going to happen right now did it happen yeah here we go I woke up this morning feeling like P Diddy but we go this special way we got a B tunnel oh so have we already split off from normal traffic speed limit 15 this is a pretty wild Little Road lots of people getting off that what a beautiful view well it's a good thing we sat on this side we get to see this piece of also we get to see the cool topology of like what is this Jeremy you Lincoln Tunnel vent shaft Linn tunnel is directly under us it is interesting looking at this how they still bother to do like some ornamentation the way the the vertical brick indents and stuff public staircase that's so no way these are the Galaxy Towers in Gutenberg holy Atrium oh my God this is the densest town in the US yeah it's like top 70 or something in the world of unties because everyone like a third of the town just lives in those three towers and the town's absolutely tiny like I think we're probably out of it yeah we're out of it already it literally is just the towers and that's it also this bus is still so busy and we thought that like the river route wouldn't be as busy as going via the Cs uhoh is just so cool man do you want to take the Hudson VI side I I'm actually kind of attached to this side now is that corn what is that this is the upper west side but know what is the what is the foliage I if I could describe that building in one word it would be voluminous voluminous v o l u m n really oh my God all right I changed my mind this one's voluminous Jeremy would you live here I don't know if I live here but I think it's in incredible architecture in a unlike every other njt plus schedule this has the buildings on it what wa points of interest that's a park gota I just love this like why is no one built on this like flood plane or something I don't know so the thing I'm impressed with is like this is just a normal like kind of dense kind of like Suburban Street and then it's like oh massive apartment Towers that's like four different buildings up there is no ra Transit these are all bus riders which is why all the buses around here run every like 2 minutes at R hour literally so we started climbing we've got great views over Manhattan and Jeremy's like and this sorry Jer you sound like Jordan there look at all that wait there's two there another cool kind of cool looking two over there and these dents houses here too so there's more development this way it just goes like down the hill all to the water over here with like all like the par oh wo literally an abandoned house oh my so now we're just like climbing up like how do these towers even make sense when it's soly I love how Hills just create Woods because you just can't develop and yet somehow they've managed to put some stuff here old Palisade Road look at that nice plus setion where are we going in here the this is a oneway street we have to go oh wow I love how they've drawn that on the map that's very realistic thank you thank you honestly dropping the bit of just like doing this stupid trip that was honestly one of the coolest bu rides I've ever done really yeah that was amazing take right miles like how fast we went around these curves and like a narrow yeah and like all the crazy buildings and like Urban fabric bus right all right well now we know to recommend the njt 158 to you by the time this video comes out njt won't be free Le to me is still just traffic problems in for we oh yeah what is that is that like what they say in the radio that bridg gate that was the email with Christy with the lanes trying for some traffic problems in Fort Lee it's actually just a two- seat ride to the George Washington Bridge bus terminal we're now walking up to Bridge Plaza and this stop we're walking to is seems to be very bizarre but it serves all the George Washington Bridge route so it's the best spot to to get one if we had to pay a fair right this is the only onezone njt ride into New York the one zone Interstate jily short-term bicy look at that oh that's so nice do you like this bus shelter wait that's like you know those like Soviet bus shelter it feels very Soviet wow um not as misery as I thought it would be and of course we have dollar van service oh so we do wait to look there's a but that cost a dollar that's the stop this is like the stop for the queue of buses if there are too many waiting so unfortunately I guess these platform screen doors don't last all the way down there lead bus pull forward lead bus stop here way down so guess we go way down okay how is the Mini Bus making that much noise it's a mini bus they always are like that oh but this shelter is way less fun well I guess we can see are you kidding me 222 224 231 234 235 302 they're like all clumped we're in that Gap we have to wait until 30:2 and it's 249 it's like it's 250 it's only that's terrible I'm actually surprised at how frequent the peak is like yeah peak's really good oh it's our bus what 101 in that is a really weird Li you couldn't read any of that fi trips 101 Inc operator I'm glad you filmed that that was just so there's the Jitney pulling across three oh my God what a leg I think our bus has to do that yeah I think everyone's going for the Jitney yeah even though njt for once is actually cheaper than that yes and it it's nothing all right we've got a bus coming oh it it has a head I can see it changing this is just look at the car moving out of the way it's like causing cars to scatter are we in a line are we like cutting a line right now board first though so we're going to let everyone in the line board first and I guess we'll see hi we'll see how much space there is after everyone's board operator has no money actually only ended up being like 4 minutes late oh that's not bad this is very wide have wide they lift I don't know looking kind of tight can you move back some people are shuffling in it's almost like these routs should be better coordinated to not have long gaps all right off we go in our One Stop trip this is the busiest njt bus I've ever been on yellow tape on this side not working great bus we got a great view out the front though yeah just an absolutely awesome view from up here I guess that's you would expect but still got to point it out oh so this is very exciting we're going to get direct access to the terminal I also love these like insane Highway ramps coming off of the gwb but we just get to go no trucks straight into the terminal oh there's the hour bus we saw there's multiple this an hour bus hub and there's Greyhound oh I think they pull around we get to see the the the the dead head area the oh yeah thanks a lot oh what time is it 3:15 an hour and 15 minutes all right it's 3:25 we'll see how long it takes it back to the Port Authority via the KN Freeway 290 look at that six whole stops to the port authority and that normally normally it would skip 50th yeah this is 42nd Street bus terminal transfer is available to 1 2 3 7 C b n q and R trains transfer is available to the shovel to Grand Central connection is available to the authority bus this is an accessible station the ramp is at the ramp of the pl the r is at
