okay I did not think we were going to have to do a second video today here on Andy's Randomness but this has a lot to do with the Direct TV Disney situation I uh want to thank Matt camper over at camper News Network for giving us this article that was published a little while ago as I was just finishing up taping the um radio news headlines and I thought I was only going to be doing radio news headlines this week but apparently we have to talk about uh this right here so we have an update regarding the Direct TV Disney situation so this was written by Bryan Steinberg over at variety so let's quickly read this article here don't count on next week's debut of a new season of Monday Night Football on ESPN to force a quick end to the current carer dispute between Disney and Direct TV according to Chief Financial Officer at Direct TV Ray Carpenter he had told investors earlier today that the satellite distributor is prepared to stand firm against Disney's current stance in the Black Op started over the weekend that will keep ESPN Disney Channel the FX networks and free form off the company service for the foreseeable future we don't have any dates drawn in the sand Carpenters say said nothing that Direct TV is not playing in a short-term game Disney finds itself facing off against another major distributor eager to create new models as more consumers leave traditional services like the one it operates it moves over to streaming hubs many of them operated by Disney and traditional media Rivals last year at about this time Disney was involved in a similar dispute with the largest keyb distributor Charter communic ations AKA spectrum that resulted in an agreement that remov Disney Outlet such as free form and FX networks to be taken off of Charter Service Direct TV like other Distributors believes the rise of streaming services such as Disney Hulu and espm plus has gred cable forcing customers to payt for channels they have less premium content or for networks they may not regularly use then spurning them to pay in a second arrangement for streaming alternative so yeah this is not looking good folks this is indeed not looking good at all M so this could last a while now I want to mention and CNN broke the story this morning CNN was reporting and I confirm this as well that Direct TV was offering a $20 bill credit for the situation at hand now for that bill credit I'm going to be adding peacock Premium Plus well actually no it's regular peacock premium what am I saying I accidentally used my friend's account but now I have to cancel it tomorrow and then restart it so that shouldn't be a problem I'll get that resolved but that's what I'm going to be doing with my bell Credit in the meantime because honestly it's just not fair that you know with this whole outage at least Direct TV should be compensating for a loss right here so I will be doing that because my current peacock building cycle ends on the six and I have to link it up to Direct TV account and supposedly Direct TV is giving me NF uh the NFL Red Zone so there is a compensation on that at least so at least I'll be able to watch Scott Hanson say 7 hours of commercial free football so least time uh happy about that in the uh in the short run but but as I've said to you folks um times are getting desperate here and I know for a fact that sling TV is offering deep discounts for people to try to access uh ESPN and ABC at the moment so sling TV is taking advantage of Direct TV customers it seems that are just desperate to not remove their satellite dish which uh as I've said I mean if you're that desperate to get ABC back again there's over the a antennas go to yesterday's video I I have those Amazon links I have the DTV thing but um let's just quickly take a look at the sling TV situation before we wrap up this video now I do want to give a disclaimer that um the only local ABC stations that are offered on sling at at the moment are New York Philadelphia Raley Durham North Carolina Chicago Houston Fresno Los Angeles and San Francisco so just um please keep that in mind now this is what I would recommend to do if you really want to save money and um I'm probably going to encourage my parents to look into this if especially cuz my mom is the one who's been complaining recently like I need ABC I need ABC like listen I understand the situation at hand mom um what I would recommend to do if you just want to save a little bit of extra money here and you want to maybe get some ESPN programming maybe try to get ESPN Plus now I don't know what the MLB wow card Situation's going to be when it's on ESPN between October 1st and the 3D so maybe ESPN plus is considerate enough on that but you know it might be the cheaper alternative to just get the blue package if you want ABC for an example you'll get that and then you'll just consider that as an option get blue which is a cheap price and then go from there so there is the promotional price for orange and blue for $30 that would be a good option at the moment again that's a promotional price now what's also interesting about this particular uh situation here and I just want to see if the sports package is here just going to see for a sec I don't think the sports package is here at the moment but we can figure that one out but I'll find it here so I don't think the sports package is even on here at the moment cuz there's supposed to be a sports add-on that lets you um watch NFL Red Zone so I just wonder when does this promotional price end I'm going to do some more research here so I guess I can't really find anything at the moment on that but sling blue orange at the moment I guess is going to be your best way to go in New York so uh I will have to bring that up to my mom and I'll have a talk with her about it but if not then you know even with the full $60 it's still cheaper than YouTube TV it's still cheaper than Hulu still cheaper than fubo and uh yeah I will uh definitely get this figured out when the time does come into fruition so we'll uh yeah me and my folks will figure this out when we get back to New York but I guess I'm going to wrap it up here so you do have options again I would recommend just please do not get rid of your satellite dish do not get rid of Direct TV stream at the moment just stay patient this could go on for weeks maybe even months I mean it happened months with nextar so just stay patient that's all I'm uh going to say at the moment so I'm going to wrap it up here thank you for watching and again I did
