Oregon Ducks 2024 Season Predictions

how will year one in the Big 10 go for the Oregon Ducks we're going to give you our predictions here in this video before we go game by game let's just talk about this Oregon team a little bit my thoughts on this team uh I I think it's is going to be a really good team you look at the entire roster you look at every position group they're really are no weaknesses they look look like they're going to be good at running back good on the offensive line good at on the front seven on the defensive side but where I really think this team is going to be uh special Elite is going to be both in the passing game on offense and then on the pass defense side on defense I think you look at Dylan Gabriel coming in at quarterback and the receivers that they've got coming back along with you know like the addition of Evan Stewart this passing attack is going to be really really good and I think there are a lot of people that are already expecting or predicting Dylan Gabriel to win a Heisman Trophy and I think he absolutely could do that because again I think this passing offense is going to be special I think the pass defense is going to be really good as well you look at their secondary uh they are are very very good there so this is an Oregon team that is you know it's one of the few teams that is in my opinion a true National Championship Contender uh but how will it go year one in the Big 10 well let's go through each game first of all Vegas they've got this team at 10 and a half wins so 10-2 or 11-1 the most likely scenarios according to Vegas I guess I would agree with that you know they've got Ohio State that's going to be tough they've got um Michigan on the schedule on the the road Wisconsin on the road uh UCLA Oregon State it's it's you know hard to imagine this team losing more than two games and even two games I think you know this team should be able to get to at least 11 and one and potentially even go undefeated again they've got Ohio State at home that's going to be their toughest opponent they should be favored I think in every other game that they play so let's just go through I think they start off with Idaho uh I think they start off with a win against Idaho I think they will start uh their they just win by you know 70 points maybe I this team's going to be very explosive offensively uh they think they're going to score a lot of points then they get Boise State the next week September 7th uh Boise State might be the best group of five team this year but they're still nowhere near the level of Oregon I think the Ducks Will Roll in that game and then they get Oregon State we get to keep this rivalry alive I'm very happy about that and I believe Washington and Washington State actually play on the same Saturday so it's almost like a mini mini rivalry weekend at least with those two rivalries U Oregon State you know new coach it's they're not going to be very good even on the road even with a rivalry Oregon should roll I don't think this game will be close at all uh UCLA next on September 28th I think people are really just kind of overlooking this UCLA team they actually have a lot of pieces coming back uh losing Chip Kelly I know and and they did lose some players but uh this is still going to be a pretty solid team the game's on the road I think I think Oregon you don't want to overlook a team like UCLA this game could be close for a while but I do think just the overall talent for this Oregon team they are the better team I think they will find a way to kind of pull away in the second half so I've got them winning but not necessarily a blowout and then they'll play so UCLA is their first conference game in the Big 10 but of course UCLA and Oregon have both been in the Pack 12 that doesn't feel like a new like it's not like a big 10 opponent Michigan state will be their first opponent uh that was a a big 10 team coming into this season or before this season and they'll get them at home Michigan State you know it's interesting here with Jonathan Smith of course very familiar with Oregon uh you wonder if if they'll have some some wrinkles ready in this game I just Michigan State's in rebuild mode and I don't think they're going to be capable of really competing in this game I think Oregon wins pretty big and I would be very surprised if they don't start 5-0 I think um really they should roll in all these first five games but then you've got Ohio State October 12th this should be a really really good game uh you know stopping the Ohio State Run game I think it's going to be a challenge for Oregon can Ohio State secondary slow down this passing attack for Oregon you know it's it's just going to be a great game two really really good teams going at it and Dan laning has not been able to win these types of games he has not been able to win the big one I think they do this time though I think the HomeField Advantage the crowd will be there I I like Oregon on the line of scrimmage I think they match up pretty well with the Ohio State and I think they find a way to get it done this team should be clicking on all cylinders here by the sixth game of the season I got the Ducks getting the win a big big win over Ohio State moving to 6 and0 they'll play Purdue next uh actually I want to Circle back they have a bye between Oregon State and UCLA that was their first first byee so they get a byee after their three non-conference games but back to the schedule here October 19 on the road at Purdue Purdue is not going to be very good I just don't see this game being competitive at all I think Oregon Will Roll here on the road then they get Illinois the next week at home I don't think Illinois is going to be very good in fact I have them ranked as the worst team in the Big 10 some people might debate that but I just look at the roster I don't think Illinois is going to be very good and I think Oregon's going to roll in this game so I think you get two of those games you know you go back to last year and against leester competition look at some of the scores you know with B Knicks at quarterback Oregon was blowing team out you're going to see that in some of these games Purdue Illinois maybe Michigan State Idaho Boise State probably Oregon State so they're going to have some some very impressive win margins in my opinion and I think again Purdue and Illinois will definitely be on that list not so much against Michigan though November 2nd on the road at Michigan this is going to be a really tough one for Oregon I love this Michigan defense they're going to be really good I think they match up pretty well on that side of the ball uh but if there is a weakness for Michigan uh you know it's probably in the secondary and that's the strength for Oregon so I think Oregon is still going to be able to score in this game and then you flip that around can Michigan score on this Oregon team uh you know the strength through Oregon's defense will be the pass defense Michigan's really going to want to try to run it so maybe they have some success there and I think it's a Michigan team that is playing better by this point in the season I think maybe they start off especially offensively a little slow but they should be in a decent Rhythm by this point plus they have HomeField Advantage so a lot going for Michigan here but I don't think it's going to be enough I think Oregon gets it done I just think that offense too tough to stop and I don't see Michigan being able to score enough I think Oregon goes on the road they beat Michigan and get to 9 and0 then they'll play Maryland on November 9th at home another game where Oregon should be just the clear favorites a clear clearly better team playing home I think they blow out Maryland I think they win this game easily so that leaves Wisconsin and Washington they get a byee uh before actually they get their B before Washington so they'll have Wisconsin after Maryland and this game will be on the road it'll probably be cold late or mid November might be snowing who knows um the elements might favor Wisconsin a little bit although Oregon's used to them as well but just the style of the game I think will favor Wisconsin this is a really good Wisconsin secondary and I think that is going to be a big key in this game I think they have a chance to maybe slow down this Oregon passing attack but the question will be can they slow down the rushing attack for Oregon because I think the strength again for Wisconsin's going to be their secondary but maybe not so much especially on the defensive line I think Oregon will have an advantage there but I think it turns into more of a lower scoring game a slower Pac game Wisconsin's going to try to hold the football I think they'll be able to run it in this game and it's just one of those games I just kind of have that feeling late in the season pressure building for Oregon Wisconsin slows the game down it's cold it's their type of game their offensive line plays really well their defense plays really well and they pull off an upset I've got Wisconsin upsetting Oregon there on November 16th we going to get to byee after that and then they'll prepare for Washington on November 30th uh it's a Washington team that I don't think it's going to be as bad as what some people think they are going to have a lot of holes especially on the offensive line and I think that's going to be a problem for them Oregon's defensive line should dominate this game rivalry maybe it's close for a while but HomeField Advantage overall the better team for Oregon everything points in their favor I think they pull away in the second half and they beat Washington to finish 11-1 so I've got this team at 11- one you know maybe it's not Wisconsin but I really I just kind of have a gut feeling about that but maybe they lose to Michigan that's another tough one on the road against a good defense um or maybe it's Ohio state but I think out of those three games they slip up some somewhere they lose one of those three games and they finish 11 And1 but I'm going to go with Wisconsin maybe as a bit of a surprise as being the team that
