Tech football begins fall camp tomorrow which means we'll get to see new transfer wide receiver Josh Kelly the difference is when we saw him in the spring versus when we'll see him in the fall he'll be wearing the jersey number three Texas act holds a special place for those that come through and earn the number three jersey and head coach Joey Maguire made that clear from the moment Kelly set foot in leik Josh whenever we recruited him he's wears number three and so whenever I was recruiting him I told him I said look if you want wear number three you've got to earn it it means something in this building and this is what it means and I went through the whole story and I said so in the spring if you're here and you decide to be a Red Raider then we're going to put you in a different Jersey and he goes you'll be have me in three when we start camp and it it just it's a guy like that that comes out works every single day um he makes his teammates better by his work ethic however Josh Kelly transferred from Washington State where he wore the number three where it was held to a high standard there as well when I first got here uh me and Maguire talked he told me he had to earn it and I told him that you know I don't want anything given to me just because of in my name or you know where I came from me and him had a a total understanding of it and he he made me work for it you know the winter and spring you know I work my my tail off you know to to get you know this number and you know this this number um my grandmother also told me you know the reasoning behind his number was you know the the uh the father Son and the Holy Spirit you know ever since he told me that that's kind of been in the back of my mind as well so I think this is kind of a god-given number you know for myself and um now I'm going represent it the best way I can we'll get to see Kelly in action along with many new Playmakers for the 2024 Red Raider roster from the new and improved Jones AT&T Stadium I'm fate Douglas and
