KOA audio: Kieran McKenna on Town's 1-1 draw against Fulham

I thought it was a a good game a good solid performance from us showing growth and development in the team uh I thought we were really competitive in the game probably had the better of itough the margins are pretty tight but I think we had the better of the second half certainly and look the more likely team to win it and that's playing against a well established Premier League team with you know great familiarity between the players with the manager and um you know the jump that we've made and we're also integrating six new players into the team and um two or three I think making the Premier League debutes for us so to produce a performance as as well organized and as coordinated um and with good spirit and with moments of quality as we did I think it's a positive sign of the steps that we're making go of a run and strike wasn't it yeah a great moment when it for the first his first Premier League goal or he scored against bourou I'm not sure it was in Co so his first Premier League goal for the club in front of fans and the club's First Premier League goal at Portman Road for 22 years so what a goal it was and yeah enjoyed his all round performance again as I've said each week he he's getting better he's getting stronger he's learning um he's still got great growth to come and again you look at the young players that we had on the pitch today you know him at 21 leading the line for Premier League club Amari beside him is the number 10 at 20 years old Leaf Jacobs some of the young players we have on the pitch um you know was a really really good thing for the football club to be honest have players that young performance in the Premier League as they are and the the mix and the balance of the team is um is coming along well you said that if anyone possibly deserve to win it you think it would it would your team today the better chances in that second half I thought so especially in the second half um yeah I think we had certainly more of the possession in the second half more of the territory more of the game was played in our half we created momentum we W set plays we know our execution to create clear cut chances needs to improve at this level we've got to some really good positions that should be resulting in probably the creation of a good chance that we didn't even manage to get a shot off in those situations so we feel like um yeah we had good control of the game for most of the second half really our organization structure was really good we managed to pin the opposition in for some spells and yeah without creating many many clear opportunities we had enough good pressure and moments like omari's you know shot comes from a couple of phases of an attack and I think everyone who's been the Portman Road the supporters have all seen him flash goals in from that sort of position over the last 12 months so we were hoping for one today but it wasn't meant to be um and we take the point and the positives from the performance and uh we look to utilize the break now well and we know we got some big and exciting games coming up it's fun these opening two home performances the atmosphere the intensity of the performance has that shown that this is going to be a difficult place to come Portman road for the Premier League teams I'd like to think so I think both teams you know Liverpool and Fulham will have come here and they pool you know the game went in their favor they got away from us in the last 30 minutes but I think both teams will come away knowing that they've been in a in a really good team and feeling they're playing against a newly promoted team who were playing with great bravery have pressed them high being really aggressive won the ball back off them a lot and also are playing with some bravery themselves and uh you know I think both teams will feel like they've been in a good game and we feel like we've we've given both teams a good game now again there's there's more steps and more jumps to make to turn those things into points and into three points but um yeah I think for for where we're at I think we've made some good steps
