foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] baseball with me it's already orange how's it going Ernie hey Carlos how's it going man missing out on that Laker game I know man and if there's any questions out here or just let us give us an update on the scores go ahead and put it on our chat right here on our comments we have a great one for you guys we do we are going over to eight uh week eight uh just finished there's a lot of teams uh showing that they have life like the Yankees you know you have the Yankees you have the the Dodgers are playing a little bit better we're hoping the Padres pick it up the Mets you know um Addie rochman you know they're the Orioles are in second place they got a good team we'll go over that stuff and then um we do have a did you know Ernie you ready for that one you're gonna give us that one later on and um we'll talk baseball we'll see some comments on here but but before we start um oh man what the hell I see a comment on here uh watching the dark again well give me the score dude what you doing uh before we get started I wanted to ask you something um did you watch any baseball this this past week and uh if you say no I'm gonna be kind of like what we're a baseball show we're supposed to watch baseball yeah I'm always watching baseball man there's a lot of good news out there a lot of teams that are hot right now like you mentioned there's a couple teams that are 11 and 4 in their past 15 games yeah you've got the actuals heating up the Rangers the Yankees these are teams that are currently balling out and they're showing signs that they're gonna make a Deep Run in the playoffs yeah so look dude let's talk about the Yankees man they've been playing good baseball and you said it the last time when Aaron judge was out the Yankees looked lost now that they have them on there they look like it's a complete team dude that is correct Carlos um Aaron judge was out for 10 days if I'm not mistaken and he still struggled for he struggled like a week to get back to his group but ever since man the Yankees are on a tear they're 14-6 in the month of May um you know at we were talking last month like we didn't think they were gonna make the playoffs we're kind of getting worried for them but hey man they just currently swept the rats this weekend they have taken the serious from the race and the Blue Jays I think they're tied with the race but you know they're showing signs and just Aaron judge just got named player of the week this week and not not to be surprised this guy was hitting a lot of home runs he is currently batting 452 uh seven home runs 16 RBIs in the last past nine games so he's doing things that we know that Josh can do and the Yankees finally uh designated for Simon Aaron Hicks I know their fans were so over him he was just not finding his Groove there with the Yankees they're making the right move now to get into the playoffs dude you know what's crazy I've I've heard the fans were booing them a lot and I wouldn't understand why they were doing it if every time I was seeing like little cool highlights of him getting hits here and there but he was really stinking it up man and I'm pretty sure like any anywhere else besides New York and I'm pretty sure La is the same way but anywhere else I feel like they wouldn't boo their players uh I feel like they'll try to support him and stuff like that but they are getting paid big bucks so if he's not doing anything to help the team of course the right move but the Yankees what you just said it's a team that um you know it's it's we're waiting for them to take that first spot but that East it's really really hard to actually kind of know what team is going to make the playoffs and as you see the top you got the raise you got the Baltimore Orioles you got the Yankees in third place which you just said they're under a good streak you have the Red Sox which is 26 and 21 and then you have Toronto and Toronto only fell down there because they are they have a four-game losing streak but they still have a shot of making the playoffs which is not something where you're kind of like ah none of these teams are gonna make it could you see all four teams on top like 14 from the East making the playoffs this year it's a it's a three spot yeah three wild three wild cards yes can you play all format that is totally possible Carlos now the only the only thing I don't the reason why I don't see it happening is because they're gonna face each other very much and I think they're just gonna battle it out and some teams gonna have to eventually go down um as you can see the Boston wrestlers are kind of slowing down the Blue Jays are slowing down as well but it's gonna be hard for the Yankees to get that first Pace even though they're five and a half games back the race are just playing incredible baseball and it doesn't seem like they're going down anytime soon but how about this aoes Carlos man these top two teams the the race the Blue Jays the Orioles they're giving a huge rivalry to the Yankees this year man they're putting up a fight the Rivalry is looking much more it's looking bigger than the Red Sox this year if you ask me that's been a little bit more beef you know there's been little scenarios like a rose and Arena getting hit by the Yankees you know Kevin cash came out he got thrown out just this weekend Aaron judge you know if they were thinking he was cheating Looking In The Dugout but it looks like the pitcher was just tipping pitches there's just been a lot of drama with the Yankees this year you know it's like every day there's something going on you got to Domingo Herman glove you know having sweat Clark Schmid recently just got told to wash his hands there's a lot of fans out there thinking the Yankees are cheating you know it's just baseball but man the Yankees are just always involving some crazy drama and right now they're just peanut which is good for baseball yeah you know what we can't go without mentioning that Aaron judge was looking at the Dugout or looking at the first base that is not cheating that's just looking you know someone someone's actually if if they're tipping the pitches and someone caught on to it then guess what that's your fault but when you're using electrical stuff or you know things that are not supposed to be out in the field to get you get a a a you know an advantage on the pitcher then that's a little different right but this one you can clearly see his eyes go to The Dugout and then the answer he gave was kind of was like what you were checking who was chirping out there like no way it's hard dude these guys are throwing 90 95 Plus on the mound and then you're on on back there waiting for it you think you're gonna like use your eyes to look who's chirping like no I I wouldn't like even when I used to play baseball they used to not throw 90 something but he used to throw like you know 70 80. and I still wouldn't look I still kept my eyes on the picture because it's so difficult to pick up pitches so you're right about everybody you know hating the Yankees the Yankees are a big bad bully that's how I feel you know they tried to hit everybody and and they've been trying to fight with the race for a while now it's been kind of like back and forth these teams are not letting up which is good because these rivalries are good for baseball um maybe if if it continues maybe the Red Sox is going to be an old rivalry but this one's aren't coming up they're they're and that's going to be a good thing for baseball you know they just had the most watched games or most attendants this past week you know it's because maybe yeah the time is probably working uh the climate's getting better you know and why wouldn't you want to be out there in the stadium drinking a beer watching a game I think the the I guess the the the game that was the shortest this week was two hours and 15 minutes so for people that doesn't like baseball and go out there and see that for them it's good but for us that like watching baseball 250 minutes you're like dang I went to get a beer like in the first inning and that was the fourth inning like you know it's a little weird right exactly yeah man I don't know if you're saying the Yankees man they're tearing it up right now and yeah it doesn't look like they're stopping Luisa verino just came back which is a huge addition to the team you know he was out all season Anthony's wrist was looking like an old self he's finally heating up he's finally hitting home runs like in like his old Club days he had kind of that offer little bang it was trying it was looking like it was time to worry but luckily he's it seems like he's back yeah yeah let's look at the question over here what the hell uh the race pitching staff has taken a hit looks like they're gonna need the big yeah they are and but see let me go ahead and put this back on here hey how's it going uh oh there you go how's it going Jasper hey fellas uh yeah there you go let me go ahead and put this back on here because I want to look at the standings and it looks like the the Rays only have a two and a half lead now like it it kind of fell it used to have like a 10 game eight game and look at all these teams they're going after the big dog which is a Tampa Bay race their pitching does have a hit you do have glass now that's working out in the minor league just threw five innings he did pretty good he allowed one run he's ready to come back for the race so um but you know we actually put a question on Instagram this week and out of these four teams we put that who's gonna miss the playoffs right and I mean people are picking the Yankees but I I don't see the Yankees missing out do you Ernie you know how you asked me last month I would have said yes but after watching their performance the past two weeks and the way they dominated against their AO East Rivals they have shown signs of life and shown that they could get some big hits timely hitting and the pitching is so part and then just what Carlos were done coming back down the down the road the team's gonna be just fine if you ask me now yeah do I see they're making uh getting first place out of the aoes I don't see it but definitely a wild card position is definitely up for grounds for a lot of teams now with the new postseason format yeah well uh since we're on this slide who did you pick for for uh this year to miss I mean any of these teams submits the playoffs man it was really tough one Carlos I I think all four teams could make it we had high expectations for all these four teams this year have you asked me these teams were not making the playoffs I wouldn't have believed you now the platters has definitely been the biggest disappointment and I think that's why most people are going with the Padres I know there are currently five games under 500 and you know you have all these superstars in that lineup and they're just missing some big time timely hitting when it's Runner with positions they just can't get them in the pitching has been subpar but man like these they need these big hits and I feel like they only do it when nobody's on base and that's hurting the team drastically yeah yeah and that's yeah get these W's so you picking the who did you pick sorry sorry so yeah the team that I actually think that is probably will miss the playoffs and I'm probably gonna be wrong in this one I'm going with the meds I don't trust their pitching even though Scherzer and berlander had a great starts this weekend I just worry about their longectivity this year and I'm not sure if they're going to be able to pitch all year man I really worry about their health and the team just asks very streaky when it comes to batting yeah it's crazy dude because uh before I give out my the team that I picked um I do see that the Padres are one of the top well it is the top one and a lot of people are misled by what the Padres are doing and I'm gonna go ahead and explain a little bit on what that is because uh the partners are still a stack house you know they still have hitting they still have the top players in that lineup you have Machado that's in the IL the 10-day i o but easiest coming back whether they are they seven and a half games is this this is before the game started today um after the today it'll be different but there's seven and a half behind the daughters right then you're looking at five games under 500 you still have to climb up again up on the San Francisco Giants and then the Arizona Diamondbacks which is kind of a surprise to me that they're playing good baseball right now but you have you looked at their team they're pretty good right yeah so look the Padres we're gonna look at this right here the Padres pitching staff is number 10 at a 3.92 they're pitching really pretty well they're staying in the game but they're hitting that's not there yet so what do you think is gonna happen if the Padres get their hitting back and their pitching is just moving on up to let's say to a salmon spot that team is going to be a real good team don't you think once a hitting comes back Carlos this team's going to get some W's in the column they're just like I said missing some big hits right now in certain games but they might like Jasper just mentioned the Potter's my surprise don't be shock then June we're talking about they're the hottest team in baseball making a run for the Wild Card they're only three and a half games back of the last wild card spot so that's nothing man you know September Comes Around you could be down six seven games in the standings and you could still make a comeback as long as you get hot and yeah it really doesn't matter who gets hottest at the at the end of the year and that's how baseball usually works the hottest team makes makes a long push yeah that's crazy that a lot of people are still picking the Packers it's still early in the season I feel and maybe I'm wrong like you said you know you picked the Mets and you know what it's funny I picked the Mets too and I've picked because of Scherzer and Verlander because do they are they gonna have enough to make it all the way to the end and not have arm fatigue like they've had before I think got injuries and stuff like that so that that kind of thing scares me and I don't even a Mets fan but imagine a Mets fan having those two on your on your roster looks great on paper like anything else right but if they go down who do you have in that in that team who do you have in the pitching staff to get you out of that hole if those two fall and they're not in first place yet the Braves are still playing good baseball out there it doesn't look like the the Braves are going to let up they're one of the top teams right now actually they are the top team and then I mean they're facing up the Dodgers right now that's kind of the top Series this week but they're they're facing the two top NL teams are playing against each other but that's what I'm saying I feel like sometimes feel uh people forget that baseball's a long season and they can't catch fire at the end of the of the year which is you know it's August September and that's when you really see teams going into the playoffs with that momentum so I had the Mets on this one I know it's 25 but this is what the people chose they chose 38 on the Padres and like I said I don't I don't want them to be wrong it's early in the season but you know you never know what's gonna happen with this thing yeah we did not mention the Cardinals just last last month they were down like almost eight games behind 500 they were struggling Northern or Ronaldo just didn't seem like he was fitting there the pitching was terrible they're currently the like the least everybody thinks they're gonna make it they're not even in playoffs yet but after being with Dodgers three out of four this week they're just picking up at the right moment they're getting hot the players are finally hitting they just brought up a rookie Oscar Mercado and he had like five RBIs against the Dodgers yesterday man the team looked loaded and they could definitely make a run as well so yeah like you said sorry go ahead no no go ahead go ahead Jasper's saying the Yankees gonna miss the playoffs I mean I think everybody here you're not a Yankee fan you wish the Yankees don't make it yeah am I right Carlos I think I think so I think everybody's kind of wanting the Yankees or picking the Yankees because they do see the the lack of leadership in that team when judge is not there so you better hope Joe doesn't get injured because if he does get injured who's gonna step up and be that team captain for that for the Yankees and uh I mean yeah you're right the Cardinals it's a team that that we were talking about that are not playing good baseball They just won three out of four against the Dodgers which is really impressive because they're hitting they're hitting pretty good you know they're they're they have their their stars like waking up they're they're starting to make pitches so we'll see what happens on the line with the Cardinals um but not a lot of people pick them I feel like the the the people spoke and they said uh not you know it doesn't surprise us not the Cardinals are there oh 25 you know it's not it's oh no 17 um so that's the team I think right now that's kind of it's kind of like okay are they gonna be able to make playoffs but then again they're in the Central Division in the central it doesn't look like they have a big time teams that can compete to that you know to the end but we'll see we'll see what happens and if all these teams make it then we were wrong but we picked these four teams because they saw the teams that should be on top of their divisions uh at least the Mets should be fighting with the Braves the Padres should be fighting with the Dodgers and the Cardinals should just be taking it you know because that's one of the picks that we had winning the division um I know the Brewers are there but I think they have a better team than the Brewers but we'll see what happens in the course of Yankees that's just a freaking hard division out there in the East which is kind of you know yeah where do we go from here um we spoke about the Dodgers playing in Atlanta and they have a pretty tough you know schedule and I know a lot of teams are gonna have that schedule because now they're playing every team in the major leagues but look at this and I didn't when I talked to you earlier early I said damn they're gonna have they're gonna start a a tough um opponent on Atlanta on Monday but if you look at it San Diego was tough right because we're thinking San Diego should be on top of that you look at Minnesota they're in first place out there in the Central and AL Central then you look at St Louis which is one of those teams that should be on top that just got fired right they only won one game out there they go to Atlanta they go to Tampa Bay and I think they can cool it down a little bit with Washington but do you see that 8 35 a.m game oh are you waking up on Sunday for that I don't know man if I wake up for it then yeah but that's an early ass game dude look at the schedule look how many games in the world they're playing they only have one day off and then they have to wake up that uh eight in the morning or earlier because they have to they're they're still thinking about uh Pacific uh Standard time they're not looking at East Coast time they're not used to that but they're gonna wake up earlier so they can eat breakfast you know get some batting practice and then go to the stadium and then play and then you come back home and you have a night game on Monday instead of having a rest day because I know for in fact that when the East Coast teams play out here and they're out here late they give them a day off the next day or they play late the next day and this is kind of like where I kind of have a problem and been having a problem since we started this podcast that I go ahead and always say that because it's kind of hard for a team in the west coast to get realigned and adjust it back to time because the East Coast person can play late but a a West Coast person it's hard to wake up early if you already don't wake up super early right so yeah it's gonna be a tough one man it's gonna be pretty tough um like we said Atlanta and the Dodgers are playing right now Freddie Freeman's the first time out there since uh last year I don't think I saw this today did you about what yeah Carlos uh Freddie Freeman just hit a home run you would update right now he just hit one back at trees Park he got a standing ovation by the fans and he looks like he was happy to hit a home run down there and take the lead from the Dodgers it's it's crazy how when players always come back to their old teams to their old stadiums they just lit it up and you know get the gang-winning hit or get the gang-winning home run or they get started somehow to just keep continue playing good at the stadium they could be struggling but they'll find their group back against their old team I don't think Brady Freeman has been struggling though I know he loves playing in Atlanta but it's not the same thing as that happened last year remember last year he went there he was crying when they did that little tribute video for him this year I didn't see that like you said he had a home run uh he looks kind of weird going to the right instead of going to the left you know uh Dugout but he's in daughter blue I mean if you're a Dodger fan that works out but if you're a brace fan it's kind of hard to see I honestly thought Freddie Freeman was gonna end his career with the Braves I don't know what didn't fall through I know we all saw that the agent didn't tell him that the Braves offered whatever but it it kind of sucks for the Braves and it's good for the Dodger fans that Freddie Freeman's a daughter because man Eggman can hit and he can play first base for sure so yeah man we'll see what happens with the Dodgers on this one like uh do you think they come out of there uh above 500 500 or under 500 after this this long road trip can you go back onto the schedule Carlos yeah I can put the schedule let me put so yeah I definitely think that if the Dodgers go 500 in this road trip this would be a huge win Carlos they are currently out with Gavin Lux and Julio Diaz in the io and they'll write huge losses to the daughters in the in the pitching you know Kershaw Destiny don't forget Dustin me yeah that's the May Julio's and then Kershaw hasn't missed a star but he's in the bereavement of this and he's been struggling so he hasn't been the same guy right now going through his personal reasons but the Dodgers are bringing up their Prospect Bobby Miller they had Gavin Stone start today which was a little bit Rocky in the first inning you know these they're asking a lot from these young prospects to come up here and produce you know and they're definitely have to face the toughest teams had this been or like just a average below average team these pitches would probably be okay but man having to go to Atlanta Tampa Bay and and forced to pitch against these guys that's that's tough to do and they definitely are asking the Dodgers for a lot of run support in order for these guys to at least get the W for them if they go 500 and this road trip that would be a huge win given like the losses of their pitching and and not only that because you have all these pitchers that are going down now you have to scramble to see who's going to be in the bullpen who's gonna come out of the bullpen Dave Roberts has a tough job and there's a lot of people calling his head it's like come on dude he can't do everything it's not like he got Dustin may injured it's not like he's the one that told what do you guys hey man your hamstring you know like get it aggravated so you can go to the IL like nah dude this man is doing the best he can um I'm kind of tired of hearing Dodger fans say that that oh fire him like it's not an easy job I know I was I was there when in 2017 when he made some calls that were like what the hell you know but I'm not the manager I'm happy I'm not the manager because that's a tough call like um you know it's not one of those things where you want to be unless you're really a big time uh coach but you know whatever he's getting paid the big bucks for that but yeah I'm kind of tired of it I'm kind of tired of it I'm tired and I don't think there's a manager out there that's better than Dave Roberts right now yeah I don't think so either I don't think so either the only one that I thought that was that was pretty good and he's already with the Rangers is Bruce welchi and you know I thought he was just not going to coach anymore but look he came back to the Texas Rangers and look how the Texas Rangers are playing they're in first place they have a lot of guys sitting out there but yeah Carlos this has been an interesting Daughter season for the past decade the daughters have been filled with a lot of superstars and we were like expected for them to win but this year you finally see that they just have their core players like Max Muncie Boogie bets and Freddie Freeman and then the rest of the pairs are just a bunch of young players that we don't know where we're gonna get from them and Dave Roberts brings the best of all these young prospects and and it's great for the Dodgers this year because they're still winning and you're still gonna know who you're gonna take down with you for the future like have you seen this you know James outman you're gonna give him his contract if he keeps producing the way he is yeah Bob Miller and Gavin Stone continue to produce it doesn't appear four and five starters going down for for the future Seasons yeah it's definitely great to see it's not the easiest season for Dave Roberts this is definitely for me it's been the most challenging one if you ask me just because he doesn't have the same star power he once had yeah and and it's easier to coach when when you don't have Superstars than when you do because when you have Superstars they all want to play so it's easier for you when there's not a lot of superstars because you could be moving around but you're not expecting a big success and look at what this man is doing two months into the season he still has the daughters in first place and had the best record on Saturday I believe I think it was Saturday he had or Friday Friday or Saturday one of those two days he had the best record uh the Braves you know they're still playing great baseball there I feel like that's gonna go one of those teams for right now I feel like the Braves and daughters are gonna go and meet up in the in the series before they go to the World Series so um I mean it is what it is let's go ahead and move on man we were talking about the AL East and house uh how stacked those that division really is but there's this one guy out there and I uh you want to take this one Ernie sure man um it's ali rushman uh great catcher man he is a switch hitting catcher a young generational Talent out there hard to find a good catcher out there Carlos he was the number one pick in the 2019 draft yeah and ever this weekend was actually his full first full season in the MLB and just in 162 games he becomes the second player to hit over 40 doubles draw over 100 walks he already had the starting job last year but he had like a tricep injury so that's why he didn't start till late May last year yeah but ever since this guy's been called up the orders have been a different team all they do is win now and you know we had not seen the Orioles being discussed in Manny Machado days yeah and it's finally a huge excitement for the Orioles organization and they they're happy to see their future for a rushman you know him and Cedric Mullins are just becoming the new superstars of That League and they have a lot of future for them just hit uh just hit for the cycle just just to throw it out there he hit for the cycle today which is kind of cool everybody is going wild yeah he just he the last at bat he hit a home run so what happened is uh he wasn't gonna get in the bat the guy before him needed to get on base for him to get that at bat if that didn't happen he would have not been able to hit that home run but it was kind of lined up to for him to get that cycle uh if you're a big time baseball Enthusiast and you start you love that stuff it was one of those things where like yeah it's a movie type uh cycle because the the guy in front of him got on base he walked and then the very like I think it was the third pitch he hit it out and he got his cycle and that's pretty cool that's really wow that's really impressive and not only that just yesterday he had a five hit game so he's on it he's on it man they're doing their little splash I'm not sure if you've seen their celebration yeah all your fans are having a blast out there they're enjoying their team win Baltimore finally winning out there and that's good to see Camden Yards being lit the way it is you know I know we talked about the Orioles in the beginning do you feel like the Oreos can keep playing this way and make it all the way and make the push toward the playoffs or do you feel it's going to die off we talked about this at the beginning of the month I mean the end of the first month we're already at the end of the second month right or yeah we're getting there so if you think they're gonna keep pushing and and getting there um you know last year we saw the downfall of the Orioles towards September we started seeing it and that's where they missed the playoffs definitely this year Carlos I see that they're more experienced with Cedric Mullins and Ali rushman in the field like you said this is his first official year he's no longer a rookie he knows what he's doing out there he's definitely being the great catcher as he is he's making those pictures ooh much better you know Finding locations where they need to pitch I don't see the Orioles missing the playoffs this year I think they're just going to continue paying the way they are and the fans are just pushing for them to make the playoffs they're going in the right direction and yeah I don't see nobody stop in the Orioles I I I agree with you and here I'm gonna put the pitching that they have I don't see I do see one picture that's under 300 we were talking about how those pictures last month weren't under or on the threes because we have a few of them on there and threes now but the Orioles they're number 12 in in the era and that's pretty good if you ask me remember I was talking about the Padres being number 10 and they're way out of playoff contention well them being top 10 uh pitching and being top 12 which is the Orioles are number 12. they're only going to get better and if Richmond is one of those catchers that can navigate their pitchers and get them to a better era and and you know Innings out of the starters then he's doing his job because remember if we're saying that this man maybe is in the talks for MVP because he he is one of those players that the Orioles do need it's gonna take him navigating that pitching staff staying on the field getting RBIs getting home runs here and there and then being that team captain for them because it looks like that's what his job is it looks like when he's on the field it looks like the team does a lot better so we'll see if they continue I kind of feel like the the Orioles are gonna you know keep it going um I know like they're in second place but look two and two and a half games behind the Tampa Bay race we're still not even in July once we get to July and this is still looking the same then you start thinking all right they're not going to be sellers they're going to be buyers are they going to make that big trade that they need and do that you know that's going to be something exciting too because trading in baseball compared to any other sport I feel like it's bigger it's huge one little change can change that dynamic dynamic for a team and this team is already pretty good now if you add one pitcher or you add something that they really need I think they can even win the division dude like definitely that's how I feel like you have to they have to bolster they're starting pitching a little bit more definitely adding a better in presence in the LA you know in their lineup their rotation will definitely make this team be much better you know they're 15 games above 500 right now Carlos that's very impressive and just with this Ali rushman and Cedric Mullins they're bringing a winning culture to the franchise they are crazy to me how one player a rookie that was first year he's not I'm not sure if he's considered rookie no more because he has his first official season but he's definitely bringing this winning culture changing the Dynamics this team is finally winning and like you said a trade deadline is going to help them just make a deeper run in the playoffs yeah and the aoes doesn't look that easy but it is tough and possibly get deeper into the playoffs which is what everybody's looking for for these new teams to make it into the playoffs because I'm one of those I like to see different teams make it to the playoffs I'm not one of those that like to see the same teams I know I'm a Dodger fan and I love them being in the playoffs like it's it's not something where I'm like oh I don't want the Dodgers to make it of course I want him to be in the playoffs every year you know even the year that they suck I want them to be in there you know just like any other fan but if there's like competition in that Division and you see it like I'ma say it about the Padres I feel like the Padres do need to be in first place right now they need to gain that momentum and I feel like they can win it all but in order for that to happen they need to go ahead and start playing smart baseball and stop worrying about we need to just beat the Dodgers no you need to win the whole thing you went out and made all these contracts and you went out and you you won the whole thing in baseball by getting these free agents now it's time to put it into play now it's time for these this team to step it up and win the division but you have the Diamondbacks that are surprising too and it's like dude what are you gonna do with with all these all these freaking teams that you need to catch up to so I mean it is what it is I did say the Mets are not gonna make the playoffs um you picked the Mets too you said right that's that's good that's kind of crazy dude because I'm like we didn't even talk about this we didn't talk about it so we did not talk about this uh we agree on a lot of things too much sometimes I know I know and we didn't even talk about it that's what's crazy I'm like oh man I hope I picked something different we picked the same it's like next time let's just do uh I guess I'll I'll put some something that you can answer and I won't answer it and I'll just do another one that I can answer I bet you we'll even agree on that right I'm gonna we gotta be a skipping Shannon just go at it to one another you know argue about everything it'll happen but it's gonna be a lot of things that we're not gonna agree on but I'm pretty sure this is going to get there roughly man the Padres need to get it together man they have Michael walk every time he pitches they get the W but then everybody else you know Blake snow can just cannot seem to win they lost to the Royals two out of three it's not looking good right now but if if this just continues to happen by the end of June I would definitely start panicking if I was a padre fan yeah I think I think uh do you think Bob Melvin's gonna lose his job if if they don't get it together by the end of the month um I definitely will see him getting I'm not sure if I think they'll get him to the end of the year but yeah he's definitely gonna get cut if they don't win or make the playoffs for sure I think uh by June I'm gonna say uh half June uh mid-june I think that's when they're gonna really start thinking about that because it's kind of one of those things that they're falling behind and and then I looked yesterday they won but the Red Sox put you know some runs up there and they couldn't even catch up to them so it doesn't look like the the team is doing good so I mean enough of the Padres dude we've been talking about the progress like it's just the Hot Topic because they do have the top team and it's just like why are they not playing and putting it together and and trying to win um let me just go ahead and say this if there's someone out there that's just joined us go ahead and like the video and subscribe if there's some questions we haven't got a lot but there's the comments we'll go ahead and answer it um if you haven't subscribed go ahead and hit that subscribe button uh and if you don't like anything about the show or you like something about the show just let us know I think that'll help us out to get better at what we're doing we love talking baseball we like the interaction because when we have the interaction that just lets us now it lets us know that you're listening and then and then lets you know that we know our baseball and that's that's always what we we try to do we do have our show on Fridays it's at Fantasy Baseball as we will in Chevy and sometimes snap gets on there whenever he uh he has a chance um we'll try to see if he can get on this Friday maybe next Monday with us we'll see if he uh sometime but um let's keep it going dude I know you have the did you know and I think that's pretty interesting yeah so I have a did you know segment hopefully I don't cut off this weekend like I did last week sorry about that did you know that this weekend back in 1996 Ken Griffey hit his 200th home run at the age of 26. and he was there was already seven players that already had reached it faster than him and I thought Ken Griffey yeah there was it's crazy to know that but Ken Griffey I think the 26 already hitting his 200th home run which is an impressive feat if you ask me hell yeah it is dude it is yeah and not only that but um I thought Ken Griffey was gonna get at least two to 500 faster but injuries had a lot to do with that but I felt like he was going to be the Home Run King I remember when he first started playing he would turn his hat around go to you know up there and then try to swing go to the fence all the time in batting practice dude that was really fun seeing this guy um they called him the kid back then um which is something really cool but there's another did you know that did you have right go ahead right I did and also in this same weekend in 1997 the following year Roger Clemens gets his 200th career game win uh 200 winner he went out to win the spot he went to win on the ale Cy Young that year with the blue jays and with that win he was 8-0 to start the season wow that's crazy dude that is impressive these are status now you're looking back Carlos like man you don't really see this that often man nah nah and are we gonna be able to see this again we were just talking about Kelly Jensen last week that uh he got to 400 are we gonna get to see 500 from him and that's going to be a an impressive Milestone because the last time that the last one that did it I believe was Trevor Hoffman did one and I think Mariano Rivera has it I think that was those were the last ones uh the Troy personal Troy Percival was one of them as well so those are Milestones that we don't get to see a lot like a closer wasn't one of those things that baseball produced back then in the day so these are all new positions where they're like demanding a closer and you have these new teams that are like no we don't have a designated closer anymore that's gonna change you know so Kelly Jensen can be the one of the last closers you know of of this baseball era that's kind of moving out and you have the new era moving in and you know it's going to be crazy hopefully he does get to those 500 and we get to experience and see it um whatever team he's he's with and he keeps it going you know but uh yeah I feel like uh Milestones these days are just harder to see it feels like it takes almost a full decade before you see the next one come up yeah man yeah Guardian pitching also is not very easy these days you know you have pictures going five innings at the most these days they're getting yeah before um there's a lot of way more comeback wins more than ever these days yeah that there's no closers you see more comeback wins more than ever so these pitchers are losing a lot of these matchups they had the win in their bag and their Bullpen just can't hold the lead and there's like 20 30 wins they're just blowing up right there you know yeah the Angels just to mention right now Tyler that you know um Tyler Anderson sorry I couldn't think his name Andrew Anderson just has his record is 1-0 and he's been in like nine starts a season yeah no longer I don't how could I say the bullpen it all comes down to the bullpen these days and it's crazy I feel like I need to throw 103 103 miles per hour so you can be like yeah I'm a big but yeah big time uh what do you call it big time uh reliever uh they're just saying Billy Wagner Billy Wagner I remember he was a short dude big old legs come in and shut the door he used to throw a 99 100 miles per hour um I'm not sure if he reached 500 um did he reach 500 Jasper I believe I believe he did I'm not I'm not so um I'm not confident on that one I might have to look it up either yeah let me look it up I remember Wagner for sure um he was he he was a short dude and I kind of wanted to be like hey he's he's short too like you know but he was throwing gas dude I'll look him up right quick he pitched from 1995 I believe all the way to 2009 2010 I believe I think that was the last time I saw him so like let me look at let me look it up right quick I think he did no he got to 422 saves he didn't get there yeah he didn't get there but that's pretty that's an impressive Milestone it's huge um if he was he was uh one of those uh lefties that were throwing hard dude did you did you remember seeing him pitch or no I didn't see much of him to be honest because well he was with the Astros he was with the Astros and he was he was a lights out pitcher too he wasn't one of those pictures that were like oh they're just gonna throw him out there and it would be whatever nah he was a lights out pitcher like I said he threw 99 to 100 miles per hour he he had it he had it um yeah let's go back to Roger Clemens uh Roger Clemens he pitched he pitched with the Red Sox and he pitched with the Yankees so uh and the Blue Jays and the Houston Astros remember they went to the World Series yeah Annie Pettit was one of those where like hey man you need to come to the Astros and try to win a World Series for them they went to the World Series and they didn't get it you know so um but they were really really good it was really good pitching then uh which was kind of weird you know what you just mentioned the Blue Jays you know who I saw with the Blue Jays who uh don manly dude I I thought he was still with the Marlins now he's with the Blue Jays he's over there coaching I don't know what he's coaching but he's over there with the blue jays he's probably their hitting coach because he I mean yes definitely was one of the greatest hitters to play for the game oh yeah he was but that's kind of weird seeing them in the Blue Jays uniform I'm like yeah with the Yankees I think that's one of those uh one of those players you're like what the hell I have another one that you know uh all right if you can answer this one oh let's see man yeah yeah yeah Babe Ruth before he retired actually no it's not before he retired what um can you name the teams at Beirut uh what the teams that he wore a uniform from including coaching the Red Sox yeah the Yankees huh Boston Braves Boston Braves they're the Boston Braves yeah yeah you need one more one more holy [ __ ] there's another team he coached this one oh he coached this one damn I'm not gonna know this one I don't remember him coaching ever I never read about this okay so he did he coached I forget I think it was he just coached for one day and that was for the daughters one day he got yeah one day he got to where the the Dodger uniform but that's on the stat and he became he was one of them so you remember David Wells he was with the Yankees too he threw out here he wanted to do everything that Beirut did so he went to all the teams that Beirut played for including the daughters his last year everything he did everything Babe Ruth did but a lot of people didn't know that a lot of people I didn't know that I I knew about that because Vin Scully back then said it that David Wells play for the Dodgers because Babe Ruth did it so he felt like he needed to do it just because of Beirut yeah so there you go man that's uh that's a good one right yeah and I knew about the Boston Braves because I actually looked this up this weekend I don't know why he didn't I was so bored at work this week you guys don't understand I was just on Wikipedia reading about players that I didn't get to watch like the Lou Gehrig's Beirut so they imagine because I was trying to figure out what years they played together and like you know about all these Yankee greats but yeah obviously we weren't not alive yet to know and what eras they played you know like Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig got to play together then I read about Lou Gehrig getting to play with Mickey Mantle and or if I'm not mistaken Joe dimager one or the other but it was definitely different eras of baseball for the Yankees you know you got you told me something this week that was kind of it made a lot of sense the stats are it's kind of hard to pinpoint who's the greatest who's gonna be the greatest baseball player of all time we have the new way of playing baseball this year this year where you face everybody in the league as opposed to back then you didn't have that chance to even play the American League or national league if if you only meet in the World Series right so now you're playing every team and now you're actually seeing the team or the player you know develop into what he's gonna be do you think the stats now compared to back then was it's something to that to consider later should be right it should be Mancus think about it the Yankees never face the daughters till they met in the World Series like these were different teams you were just facing the same teams and if you dominate it your batting average was up and the 400s for that reason because you're just facing the same type of pitching you never got no exposure for other leagues out there other teams yeah so it's crazy to think about that right Carlos I think I did bring it up like yeah man because I was reading how the playoffs used to work as well then I was just not doing nothing less [Laughter] I saw for the show and I was really like well they should there was no playoffs you know you just finished the season you won the pennant and you went straight to the World Series there was no such thing as a playoffs and now with the postseason format you're just getting extra teams to come in now and just making way more game extra games in October and it's honestly it's a money graph you make so much more money now having a playoff format yeah and if you go to game seven for every series imagine how much MLB is generating how much every team is generating for these playoffs yeah so it's definitely fun for the fans I enjoy I think everybody enjoys the playoffs more than the regular season you find the more casual fans saying hey I just wait till the playoffs I'm not gonna watch the regular season yeah and go for it it happens it happens dude it happens to where you get kind of lost in the playoffs and the regular season uh let me let me read what uh Jasper's saying Rose was badass starting pitcher yes he was and a huge Beirut fan so thank you for confirming that yeah so he was a huge uh Beirut fan and there's others that are the same um they take it to the next level to where I'ma Do one of my my favorite baseball player did and do it and he went ahead and did it he I think he hit a home run as well like David Wells was in a slow a show small in the freaking at the plates when they ever did the the inner League um he would bat and I think he hit all of mine let me look at this that uh I'll go ahead and look at the stat right now I think he did hit a home run in Yankee Stadium but I think Yankee Stadium is a little weird because it's the the fences are kind of close a lot of people call it the Little League field um but it is what it is it's hard to hit a 99 103 mile out mile per hour fastball in those stadiums but it is what it is let me look it up right quick since I have the computer here yeah paint at the Yankee Stadium what happened you think that's why it comes easy to judge to hit home runs at Yankee Stadium but that's a huge dude man he's a huge ass dude I think he could hit it anywhere Tom yeah he could hit it anywhere dude I I just feel like I know he plays in Jackie Stadium he's a tall ass dude and nothing's gonna get by this guy um but it does help you know those 290 feet or 271 foot I guess down the line or 290 or whatever it is it could just be a little pop fly for him and that's gone but you do have to hit it down the line right right which is kind of hard to do but it uh it does help it does help and the way he's going uh do you think that he's gonna hit more home runs this year more than he did last year you know I don't think the injury helped them at all but I mean just in this past games he's hit like a lot of home runs right yeah um don't see him getting to 60. honestly him hitting 50 this year would be a huge number for him already as long as he stays within the 40 50 range that's a great season regardless yeah yeah I I agree let me look it up let me look at him no he doesn't have a home run I thought he did hmm it must have been spring training then it must have been spring training because I remember him hitting the Home Run and everybody was giving them stuff and they were like uh it might have been Bartolo cologne [Laughter] foreign yeah yeah go for it go for it all right Jasper says I'm a Greg Maddox and Pete Rose kind of guy man yeah we already had that debate on Pete Rose have going into the Hall of Fame I haven't asked you about it uh Ernie what do you think do you think he should be a Hall of Famer yes man this guy was one of the greatest hitters of our time and you know he definitely had the gambling issue we need to put that to the side you got to look at the statistics alone and what the guy did alone that's a huge impressive feat and I don't think it's ever going to be untouched yeah one of those records out there um just this weekend he's he was at the Cincinnati game which was nice to see him at the Ballpark these days Aaron judge I'm not sure if he got to meet Aaron judge and also cool the picture they got out there and it was awesome to see yeah wow there we go what's up hey what's up man how's it going uh big shout out uh dude I haven't I haven't seen this guy in a while so uh what's up dude um we're just doing a baseball podcast you can ask our questions we're live where if we mess up we mess up it is what it is uh you can ask us anything baseball man if you haven't hit that subscribe button I would love for you to hit that that subscribe button that'll help us out or hit that like too um but um thank you for being on the show man uh if you have any baseball questions like I said go ahead and do it um yeah dude going back to what you were saying Pete Rose I I feel like he needs to be in the Hall of Fame because um there's a lot of things that happen from that time to now that are way worse than what he did you know he he didn't bet against his team he didn't throw the game you know he was one of those players that betted that he was gonna win the game you know that's hard to do is Major League Baseball yeah it's Major League Baseball it's not one of those things where you're like oh yeah I'm gonna throw the game or whatever like nah dude you're gonna go out there and give it your own and try to win that game so you can win money on the side because you bet it on yourself come on man like you can't be doing that you I think it's time to reinstate this guy to MLB give him uh you know his plaque in Cooperstown he deserves to be a Hall of Famer just like uh I'm gonna go ahead and mention him Barry Bonds I know it was a steroid area but I love Barry Bonds because every time he stepped into that plate at Dodger Stadium I hated the guy I hated the guy but then again did we miss out on him being the top baseball player of of that generation and because we kind of had that that that thing of him being a steroid guy you know and and that's kind of it kind of sucks because when you have that on there like right now like the Astros we had the Asterix on them being the cheaters but are we missing out on the how good that team really is because that team is really stacked and we're saying that oh they're still stare I mean that's theirs they're cheaters this and that yes but look at the fact how good they are they're really good they know how to win they know how to get to the World Series they know how to win the World Series you know so and you know Carlos maybe they would have won without the you know the trash cans being banged they probably that they had that great of a team that could have still won the World Series exactly exactly and with the going back with the steroids like you said Barry Bonds everybody was doing steroids yeah yeah it's just yeah it was just who got caught yeah right unfortunately their response was that one guy the Home Run King why is this guy hitting somewhere on so many home runs and he was the one put to blame unfortunately and it's it's tough did I ask you would you want him to be in the Hall of Fame I think you never asked me this but I think he should knowing the fact that everybody used it and how there was people giving people's names like this person did it this person did it Carlos did it yeah everybody and their mama was doing it in the MLB they were like why not why can't he just let them be like let him be he is he is permitted on the field he's not one of those players that are not welcome to the fields anymore either there's going to be a culture anymore you know he's one of those players he still can do that I just feel like they need to look at those things and be like you know what that era everybody was doing it we have people that has done steroids like uh Big Poppy David Ortiz did steroids and got caught and he's still in the Hall of Fame the other guy that's kind of trying to get in and he's doing pretty good and being the commentator is Alex Rodriguez now if you'd lead these people going to the Hall of Fame why can't you give Barry Bonds a chance even though he has these big records he has huge records that are not going to come off the books you know they're not going to come off the book so he is one of the top players let him into the Hall of Fame because he deserves it he deserves it everybody was doing it exactly and I feel like a-rod's doing his best to change his image being an MLB on Fox you know he's being that type of guy being friendly being involved with the games so much that people start to forget like you know what this guy gave him the chance but Barry Parker just hid from the game of baseball like this guy just went M.I.A you no longer could hear about him and I feel like that's her chances even more yeah and it sucks it sucks but we'll see in the future we trying to see if Pete Rose can go in before he dies and it sucks if they do it after because after you know there's no point like is he gonna be there to celebrate that no give him that chance now do it do it let's do it sooner than later and I know um they're gonna look into it I think there was a meeting I think two years ago or before the pandemic I'm trying to remember what year it was that they were talking about this new commissioner was saying that he's going to look at Pete Rose is uh trying to see if he can reinstate them and look at the possibilities he said he was going to take five years doing that like but in those five years you know anything could happen with Heroes like he can get a heart attack I'm not saying that but like he is older and wouldn't you want to have him like dude you know like you made the Hall of Fame be there give a speech and he might say hey what I did I I messed up I'm sorry I want to apologize to everybody in the MLB but it is still baseball and let's put baseball aside and my gambling aside and let me into the Hall of Fame and hopefully that happens dude but we'll see we'll see we'll see uh anything else man before we go we hit the hour mark already it looks like we did I think or we're at the 47. we're approaching it we're approaching yeah we have a great week of baseball ahead and we got the Dodgers having a crazy week this year and it's exciting week to see all these young prospects coming up we got the Yankees tearing it up so that's also fun to see and see what other drama they're gonna get into this week yeah and I did hear the I did hear that the White Sox um since Jasper is here I did hear that the White Sox are looking to see if they're gonna be suitors to trade players and I know it's not something that Jasper wants to hear but as a Dodger fan we do need a shortstop Tim Anderson might look good and Dr blue I mean I'm just putting that out there I don't know but like it is going to be exciting as the weeks go on uh if they don't get hot it's gonna be one of those things where like yeah they're gonna have to get those that team uh get rid of them and get prospects from them and Tim Anderson would fit in the Dodger Stadium he just think so those vibes that's yeah that seems like the type of guy that would play really well there there you go Jasper go Sox man it's the Go-Go socks dude I I I I I don't I hope you don't think I'm picking on you man I just I've always said that the White Sox have a great team and that they should be playing better than what they are but they're not showing it right now it's like come on and I think since we started this podcast I've been wanting to say that the White Sox are one of the top teams and they haven't shown it they haven't shown it dude so it's like come on man I need to get it together and uh hopefully they do before they they decide to make those trades but like I said I'm a Dodger fan I wouldn't mind seeing Tim Anderson as a shortstop you know in dodger blue so we'll see what happens we'll see Jasper don't worry man I feel your pain man as an angel fan we have the best play two best players in baseball and we still the camp in first place yeah I'll leave them alone I'll leave him alone um I got a question for you before we we log out uh Ernie um it's all tiny like right now so Tony gonna gonna gonna be traded or do you feel like it's gonna he's gonna be traded if the angels are not in contention for the playoffs uh it would be the smartest move to trade them now because we could get all this top prospects from a team just for Otani and but I just don't see it happening I think I think the Angels owner is just more worried about filling in seats and selling out crowds then looking in the future and unfortunately that may hurt us down in the long run if we don't keep this guy for the future if we can't give them time for this contract we're screwed for the next five ten years for sure okay so here's another tough question and this is one of those questions that I'm asked the angel fan if it's not tough for anybody else but I think it's it's tough for you because you just said you have Otani one of the top players in of MLB and then you have Mike Trout if that happens to where uh Tani does get traded uh and we've said that Mike Trout is one of those quiet players that keeps himself and he's uh he's a leader he's a leader um but do you think he will get traded and and if he doesn't uh tell me the reasons why you just said Arnie Moreno likes to put uh fans on the seat but ohtani is a huge player and he does want to go to the playoffs already he wants to win the ring and do you feel like he would ask for a trade my trout yeah I don't see my child leaving Carlos I think yeah I could see Otani leaving and they're just surrounding Mike Trout with a better core for him with a better car yeah and better pitching because they definitely need the pitchy man the pull pin has just been a mess down there yeah yeah he could do everything they can but if a bullpen can't hold that lead that's where we're just losing these close games yeah yeah but you also won those one run games which is really good that's a lot of that makes a lot of difference for the win lose column um Jasper saying training ball trout and no Tony um you can get a pretty Buck for them you can clear out salary you can sign a tip top picture next year you can have a chord to start all over you can win a World Series in three three to four years from now I mean the possibilities are endless if you do trade them but uh is there suitors for Mike Trout there is uh the Phillies can do that uh New York can do that uh either either New York team is a either the Mets or the Yankees even the Dodgers are probably in there the Padres are in there uh and you know who's out there that hasn't signed anybody and we're forgetting about this this uh team is the Giants the Giants can do a lot of damage and getting altani and trout at the same time because they do can they can trade those players that they have down there I don't know if they're going to be good but the Angels should be looking to do something if they're not in contention but we'll see what happens uh he's gonna give y'all Anderson but the Angels don't need the short style the Dodgers dude we're struggling right now we need a short stop and I think Anderson is a better fit out there um we'll talk later we'll talk later we're always thinking on the White Sox I feel and it's not that we're picking on them it's just they're better than what they look on paper like they should they should look like they look on paper on paper they look pretty good you know but they're not putting it together kind of like the Padres the Padres aren't doing that same thing um any last takes before we log out Ernie well
