my name is Matata F buer I'm an economist and every day I fight to change the way our economy works I've seen up close the power of Labor governments to change things and to do the impossible when the global financial crisis hit in 2008 I was working in the strategy unit for Gordon Brown's number 10 I saw that with focus and Poli will our government could move mountains and it was in those months that I first understood that the change my parents taught us was necessary might actually be possible my parents came to London as refugees when I was five and became part of the seran community here they made impossible sacrifices to give my brothers and I the best start they could I've been lucky but for so many of the kids I grew up with good kids from good families who were as likely to go to univers Unity is prison the system let them down my parents made sure we knew that this system that holds people down is wrong that it deprives our communities of Hope and ambition and that we had a duty to change it but I also grew up seeing the value of solidarity when things got tough people in our community banded together and helped each other out and that's why I'm labor because we know that it's not okay for just a few to do all right we have to help everyone rise the NHS the minimum wage we have always been the party of Big Ideas to lift everyone up and now we need to do it again I've listened to people from across camp andek they're worried about the cost of living the lack of homes they can afford they feel that our schools and hospitals are at breaking point they want change Harriet Harmon blazed the 12a for women standing on her shoulders I want to be pek's next MP so that I can bring Big Ideas to labor to make this change change a reality and move mountains for this community I've spent the last 5 years leading a charity that develops ideas that could transform our country free child care for all a living income so everyone can live well a green New Deal ideas I will always fight for because I know who I am fighting for I'm fighting for the kids that don't get a shot for the parents who are making impossible sacrifices for the people who are struggling to get by the people who are heck I want to use my voice on the national stage as your voice to make your fight my fight so that Together We rise
