2016 championship team we've been back before so that's helped you know what I mean but it always just brings back awesome memories and maybe the only player here but there's still some staff hanging around so there's about five or six staff members that you know were able to walk in here and just talk about some of the stories and the memories man it's pretty cool to be honest with you but while we take all that in obviously on the other hand we know we're here for a reason and every game means so much this season right now when you think about all the Great Moments in your career the fact that you were tapped to start game seven of the World Series with everything on the line for this franchise can you even process that even today no I think I don't think I can still honestly the only way I talk about it is just I'm so grateful and blessed to just have that opportunity like you said it so many things have to go right and so many things have to line up just to be given the ball in that moment so thankful that for Joe and rest the front office for everybody believing in me giving me the ball in that moment alone but then also yeah just how it lined up to be able to pitch in game seven like you said for the Chicago Cubs everything that had happened we we knew the history we knew the tradition we obviously weren't here for all of it so just what it meant for the you know plan for something bigger than yourself all the Cubs fans out there across the world and what it meant we were well aware of that and that's what we were doing it for and just to be able to come through and have all those positive memories now is just amazing I never asked you this during the rain delay where were you I was with the team for sure I was I was sticking in The Dugout I was up here in the clubhouse and then yeah the rain delay happened and I was I was in there in the in the wait room you know I heard the heard the call being made we had to go find a couple guys that didn't hear it you know I think some people have heard that side of the story but yeah I was right there in the middle and just soaking it all in man I was I was a nervous wreck to be honest with you in the game I was great I felt fine that was baseball that was normal stuff but soon as I was out I was nervous wreck it was almost being like a fan out there so yeah I was just so it all in man just rooting as hard as I could for for the guys and yeah the rain delay was a big moment obviously with Jay and the rest of the guys just coming together quick little message and to go out and watch the guys go take care of business put up a couple runs close the door there in the 10th uh just an unbelievable ending did you know at the time when J ha was talking like something special is brewing here oh 100% I think we we had felt it the whole way you know we had so many good veteran leaders on that team that it really helped the young guys keep the perspective we know what we were fighting for we know what we were playing for and yeah so when he pulled us together there it was just a calming moment where he said look you know we're not losing the game it's just a tie game it felt like we had lost it already in a way you know so just to put those words out there realize it's a tie ball game how many games have we won this year you know it's all in our control still and to do it for the guy next to you we've come this far on this journey we only have a little bit left you know let's go finish the job so just an unbelievable message at the time you you guys everyone associated with the Cubs thought that this was just the first of many looking back at it what's the lesson yeah you know it is so hard to win in this game that's the number one thing we had such a good team and so much talent and we were able to make a few runs there but yeah unfortunately we weren't able to ever get back and yeah we can always look back on that but to finish the goal and at least get one go all the way to the end win the last game of the season like Joe would talk about um it's just so hard to do in this game and the longer you're around you realize that so just so special that at least we got that done um and could provide that for Cubs fans and now it's time for the next group it's time for the next group start looking forward to the future and do it all over again well said Kyle thank you so and I'm just really not sure why and they did that last night Ramirez actually looks like he's almost guarding the line like it's the eighth or ninth inning yeah with a one-run lead change up is in for a strike with there be such a thing as playing too close to the line and not able to cover the ground to your left which is necessary I I think that's what they're doing right now I just don't understand why a routine ground ball is short is going to be a base hit right now if you hit it you know just to the left of straightway short stop I I don't understand why you would do that the big
