please do not forget subscribe to our YouTube channel and hit the notification Bell to be notified when we upload next today we are saddened to share the news of the passing of a talented comedy writer Eric gilland known for his work on popular shows like pris and my boys gilland left a significant impact on the television industry gilland a native of Illinois and a graduate of Northwestern University began his writing career on the hit show who's the boss from there he went on to write for various shows such as living dolls the one years Boogie Houser MD That 70s Show and more recently the Connors his most recent project was a podcast the cinnemon bear a holiday Adventure Eric gillan's talents were recognized and celebrated throughout his career in 1994 he received a wga award nomination for his work on Roseanne and in 2019 he received a Daytime Emmy nomination for writing the children's show the wasw show however gilan's creativity extended Beyond writing for television he was also known for his remarkable whistling skills which are featured on Sam winch's the lader and on the soundtrack for an episode of pen and Teller many in the industry are mourning the loss of Eric gilland and remembering him fondly Steve Levitan co-creator a modern family shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook reminiscing about their shared love for shows like the Dick Van Dyk show Monty Python and Saturday Night Live Levitan describes gilland as just plain smart and funny and finally reflects on their time together in high school where they co-wrote parts of Comedy assemblies another fellow writer on ran Stan Zimmerman shared his own memories of gilland Zimmerman recounts a moment where the writing staff took out their frustrations on one of Roseanne's framed photos and it was gillan's smiling face that ended up front and center in the aftermath Zimmerman also speaks highly of gilan's wit and dry humor and the support he provided in the writer's room the legacy of Eric gilland will continue to live on through his work and the memories shared by those who knew and worked with him his contributions to the world of Comedy writing will always be remembered and cherished our thoughts go out to his family friend and colleagues during this difficult time thanks for watching subscribe to daily updates and never miss a video
