Fordham Football - Postgame at Bowling Green

coach starts in the game uh not not the standard uh gave up big plays offense defense special teams uh allowed uh close to 300 rushing yards you know good back but we we had guys at the point of attack and and just failed to tackle effectively um you know we're shooting too low um you know kind of generated a little bit of a pass rush in the second half but it was inconsistent allowed them to get the CJ I five times in the first half which is is is unacceptable in the first three we're kind of right now losses at the line of scrimmage so you can't have that if he doesn't have a chance you know if the sack happens later in the down okay um but if it's if it's right out the gate and he he's got bad color in his face it's very hard to play the position um I thought the bright spot was Julius uh kid played his heart out uh gave us everything he had um we got to do better job up front you know we had fewer penalties he they did but still pre- snap penalties in key situations he been a killer um and it was certainly the case tonight you know we had an opportunity three times you know knocking on the door in the red zone and and uh either sacks or penalties we we shot ourselves in the foot and could have completely changed the uh the Outlook of the game specifically the uh our second offensive Drive in the third quarter I had an opportunity to make it um 277 and didn't execute in key situation so you know that cannot happen um so it obviously falls on me you know we weren't prepared Bowling Green credit to them they're a really good team um that running back but it's good as we'll ever see but they're a very well coached operation you know coach leer had his guys ready to go my guys weren't so falls on me we got to do better um was there anything that building green did today that surprised you they weren't expecting no not really um you know multiple on defense between four down and odd which they were you know um same thing on offense you're going to you know use motion stress you on the perimeter things like that like we knew all that was going to happen action pass um you know so we we anticipated all of that there was nothing uh surprising that they did um and that's probably what is even more frustrating about it you know it was just they executed we didn't and uh the outcome was reflective of that now aside from Juice's play any other positives you can take out of this going into next week uh show a little bit of life in the second half you know defensively for a little bit there um but then you know that kind of fell off the table uh I thought Bennett kicked the ball well uh kickoffs were great obviously you can't have one return for a touchdown you know so we got to look at the personnel there um in the execution uh I thought you know we got an opportunity to play a lot of young guys so you can take that positive away um but you know we got to uh top down we all have to be better great you guys have any questions all right great thanks coach all
