Kadyn Proctor: Alabama fall camp interview

Intro what was your first meeting like with kayin just talking to him about coming back to um when I got back I had to apologize cuz I knew that when he first came here um his first week here first day a couple days um I really wasn't giving him a chance and you know I just kind of started that uh conversation with an apology you know cuz I really felt bad and you know it was kind of had had My Mind Set On on leaving and not really listen to what he had to say to me did you get a chance to Wi and some Did you get a chance to talk to your teammates of your other teammates in how did your relationship Wen some your other teammates impact your decision to come back uh it definitely impacted uh you know I was sitting in my um apartment room by myself you know I Room by myself up there and I just started thinking about it like those those are friendships that are going to last a long long time so and I really thought about that and and I missed him so great to come back to him have you had a Have you had a chance to interact with Courtney Morgan chance to interact with Courtney Morgan and what would it be like to be recruited by him uh just you know I feel like getting getting recruited by him is definitely such a blessing cuz you know he cares about the kids he he's so fun like he he's going to tell it to you straight and uh you know my relationship with him has has definitely grown since I've been here and that's that's my guy what were those those last few weeks like in Iowa after you made a decision to leave but hadn't been down here yet what was that like for you it was it was a little stressful just not knowing um fully the decision that I was going to make um and how it would work out but you know it it definitely worked out in the end um but but it was definitely stressful for me you came back down to a new offensive line coach what was your impression of him and what was his message to you um coach cap he he recruited me in Michigan State so I had already um I had already had a relationship with already talked with him um so that that was that was definitely good right there that's something you know we could we could hit off on um especially when I first got here but you know I love him he's he's a perfectionist um wants to see everybody do good pours into us so much and it's been great so far has there been a play Has there been a play during camp that youve noticed during camp that you've noticed the mobility noticed the the the new weight has it it kind of like been like man this is easier now or uh maybe maybe just just on my past sets and then like you know getting around and pulling just just feeling a little different feel fell a little shiftier and pretty much it yeah pass it mostly when you came back you weren't always with the first team to start campus how did you approach that mentally I just knew like you can't come back to a place and and and have a spot back so everybody's got to work for a spot you know what I'm saying so that's how I came into it I knew I wasn't going to get it you know at first and you know last year I didn't I didn't get it till fall camp so it took me you know SE several months to get it so coming back here um I just knew that I had to work for it kayen can Can you just Express you just Express with classes being back and everything and everything going back to regular schedule can you just Express how like uh maybe like the offensive line group or even just the offense itself how they're doing just uh with game we approaching and things getting back up to full speed and everything uh they they do a really good job of laying out the plan for us setting out you know showing us the schedule and things that we need to do and and we kind of on our own or or collectively kind of figure out what we need to do that week to get ready and prepared you know schools you know obviously the most important so we come to practice take care of what you have off the field and then get back right to work what's it been like picking up this new offense under cat the bo um it's it's not too hard you know they they make they make things very simplistic for you um and yeah pretty pretty much it's been it's been an easy transition for sure um going through three different playbooks and and in this whole year so it's like you know it's it's definitely a blessing that's that easy how good can this offensive line be it can be really good you know the five out there I really I really do believe in us and that's that's that's how it's got to be if you want to be an elite offensive line you got to believe in yourselves and you know obviously everybody wants to say that they're the best offensive line line group in the uh in the country so that's that's what I'm going to say you know I'm I'm going ride with my guys are Social Media guys still leaning on Parker a little bit to understand the offense or was that really just kind of an offseason thing uh kind of offseason thing you know you know we got we got bets on the line you know where if we got young guys they can lean on you knowb jro you know people that LE by example people you know we we can come and watch for them together but you know it's not just Parker it's all of us that that work together and and kind of figure it out together yeah probably heard it on both ends from Alabama fans and Iowa fans just how do you approach social media now having been through that situation um I just I just think like I I don't really care you know what people think cuz there's there's people out there that you know are going to talk but they've never been in the position that I am so not really worried about it and how's your ank going know that was an issue me last year great feels great nothing wrong with it I'm I'm healthy right now
