WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. YEAH, WE GOT SOME CHANGES HAPPENING FOR YOU. SO CHANGES FROM OVERNIGHT. SO IF YOU SAW THIS THING LAST NIGHT. WELL, IT'S A LITTLE DIFFERENT FOR THIS MORNING. HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING LIKE RIGHT NOW. YOU CAN SEE IT'S BREWING AS WE SPEAK. SO LET'S JUST TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO THE CONE OF THIS THING. SO WE'RE EXPECTING THIS TO BECOME A HURRICANE BY THE TIME WE GET TO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. WIND SPEEDS WILL BE UP TO 75MPH. AND THEN THIS CONTINUES ON. HERE'S 1 P.M. FOR YOUR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON GETTING EVER SO CLOSELY AT THIS TIME. WE'RE ALREADY SEEING A LOT OF RAIN AND STRONG WINDS AT THIS POINT. HERE'S 4 A.M. THAT CONTINUES ONE. SO LOOKING AT WEDNESDAY INTO YOUR THURSDAY, WE'LL SEE THIS. AND LOOK AT THE CONE. NOW INCLUDES MORE OF US. SO YESTERDAY THIS IS A LITTLE MORE TO THE EAST. BUT AS WE HAVE PROGRESSED THIS THING HAS KIND OF SHIFTED MORE TO THE EAST. WE DON'T HAVE A DEFINED EYES, JUST YET, SO THAT MEANS THAT THIS TRACK COULD CONTINUE TO CHANGE AS OF RIGHT NOW. SO STILL NOT COMPLETELY ORGANIZED JUST YET. SO GETTING A CLOSER LOOK AT WHAT SOME OF THE MODELS ARE SAYING, THE PROJECTED PATH OF THIS IS TO GO. AS OF RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE SEEING KIND OF ABOUT THE SAME AREA LOOKING FROM BATON ROUGE TO JUST LAKE CHARLES. BUT WE'LL KEEP WATCHING THIS AGAIN. WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THIS SHIFTED OVER A LITTLE MORE TO THE EAST. IT'S GOT PLENTY OF ENERGY TO WORK WITH. LOOK AT THE WATER TEMPERATURES. WE'RE ALL INTO THE MID 80S IN THE GULF OF MEXICO AND STILL INTO THE MID 80S, AS WE DO REACH CLOSER TO THE LOUISIANA COASTLINE. TIMING THIS OUT FOR YOU. HERE'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. SO TUESDAY, WE'RE ALREADY GETTING RAIN. SO IT HASN'T EVEN GOTTEN CLOSE TO US JUST YET. BUT TUESDAY WE'RE ALREADY SEEING THAT RAIN CONTINUING TO SEE A LOT OF RAIN. BUT THEN GETTING INTO WEDNESDAY, THAT'S GOING TO BE OUR MAJOR DAY FOR A LOT OF RAIN TO COME AND WITH THAT WE COULD SEE SOME SEVERE WEATHER. SO WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF WE DID SEE A COUPLE REPORTS OF SOME SPIN UPS. VERY POSSIBLE FOR US GETTING INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT. IT'S STILL OVER US, BUT BY THE TIME WE GET DEEP INTO OUR THURSDAY, IT'S CLEARING OUT. SO THIS WILL MOVE VERY QUICKLY. IF IT WAS MOVING ANY SLOWOWER, T WOULD CAUSE EVEN MORE ISSUES FOR US. SO JUST GET READY FOR THAT. AS OF RIGHT NOW, HERE'S WHAT'S GOING ON. THE WAVE HEIGHTS JUST OFF THE COAST OF MEXICO, LOOKING AT 7 TO 8FT. BUT THAT'S GOING TO GET GREATER AS THIS THING G INCREASES. AND ALSO THE RISK FOR US, SOME FLASH FLOODING, ALL THE AREAS HIGHLIGHTED IN RED HERE. MODERATE RISK FOR SEEING FLASH FLOODING. SO BASICALLY LEVEL THREE LIKELY GOING TO SEE FLASH FLOODING. KIND OF LIKE WHAT WE HAD LAST WEEK AS FAR AS HOW MUCH RAIN EXPECTED 4 TO 5 MORE INCHES. AREAS HIGHLIGHTED IN THIS KIND OF TAN COLOR. LOOKING AT ABOUT SEVEN INCHES. AND THIS IS NOT INCLUDING THE POTENTIAL STORM SURGE AS WELL. BUT ALSO I DO WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE WIND SPEEDS. THOSE POWER OUTAGES VERY LIKELY FOR US AS WE GET POWER OUTAGES ON WHAT SEEMS LIKE A REGULAR DAY SOMETIMES, BUT LOOK AT THE WIND SPEEDS BY WEDNESDAY MORNING, ALREADY UP TO 20MPH FOR YOUR GUSTS. BUT CHECK THIS OUT AS WE'RE GOING DEEPER INTO OUR WEDNESDAY AND EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. LOOK AT THIS WIND SPEEDS 60 PLUS MILES PER HOUR. LIKELY GOING TO BE 70MPH FOR THOSE WIND GUSTS FOR YOU. AS THAT CONTINUES ON UP. AND SO AGAIN, BY THE TIME WE GET TO LATER INTO OUR THURSDAY, A LOT OF THAT HAS CLEARED OUT. AND THEN WIND SPEEDS WILL BE BACK TO ABOUT 20MPH FOR AT LEAST THE GUSTS WILL. AND THEN AS FAR AS THE REST OF THE FORECAST GOES, WE'VE ALREADY ISSUING TUESDAY AS AN IMPACT DAY.
