so first of all uh the two marines are safe uh they were aided by other Marines in the area and subsequently taken to a local hospital for evaluation as precaution uh but were not injured uh and they have subsequently returned to the USS Wasp um I can tell you that local ismir police and the naval criminal investigative service are cooperating in an investigation of the incident uh no Marines have been detained by authorities and those involved are cooperating with investigators uh in terms of uh the reaction of the Marines uh certainly very proud of the professionalism of our service members uh and and most importantly that they're safe uh this is clearly a troubling incident uh we are grateful for the support of the Turkish authorities who are looking into this uh and I'll I'll leave it there
