Ole Miss Postgame: Trey Washington after MTSU

he Tre just your evaluation of of of the defense today uh I think the D line played really well we stopped the run and forced them to um try to beat us through the air and I think we could execute way better um in our past defenses so that they can't like stop them on all fronts so we're we're we have an opportunity to get better this week and that's what we're going to do uh Lane said just a minute ago that he felt that some of the past def stuff was a little sloppy what what do you think specifically that might have been today uh I think there was too many loose screws too many uh people uncovered and we'll get that fixed and film and practice so yeah you sense a difference in this defense now through two games even from what improved from last season M I think urgency and physicality to the ball I think um consistently consistently when you turn on the film you see 11 people playing hard and trying to take the guy's head off with the ball so I say that you me you mentioned the the past defense a second ago but at the same time you know Lane was talking about you know how what it was as far as holding in the red zone and all that just kind of what kind of changed you know obviously the field being shorter but far as having your backs against the wall um it actually makes it harder for the offense cuz there's less space to work with but when you have uh some flags were question but when you have Flags like that you just kind of got to keep playing hard and executing now that you've been able to play with Walter for two games how's that been what kind of player is he uh as a DB you love defensive linan like that that makes the uh quarterback uh life really hard him prin ji all of them they make it really hard for the quarterback to be comfortable back there and they they have less time to throw the ball and when they throw the ball is air throws so yeah we love them what about in the locker room what type of guy is he in the locker room oh he's a great guy he uh motivates us all to be better in practice and yeah we love him back speaking of Walter seems like he came dangerously close to blocking a punt in that first quarter and all that is he come that close usually in practice or you know just what what's that kind of been like to watch him do stuff like that yeah he always doing some crazy especially in um Team Ron that's where we usually see uh his presence a lot we don't really see it on special teams a lot so that was surprise but that's him hustling hustling every play and playing hard so it's good to see questions thank God
