see beautiful venue definitely excited to be here uh it was very nice I really enjoyed playing here and uh I uh hopefully I can come back another [Music] time it's a fantastic event it's nice to have you know an intimate crowd and put on a little show it's awesome that's kind of like a unique charity alternative event and it's fun to hang out being invited to the 20th anniversary of desert Smash [Music] desert smash 20 years chares the run it's amazing that your charity is being honored Africa Outreach project tell me what brings you here exactly that uh I I've been uh working with ctop and birthed it about 17 years ago and uh it's always a tremendous honor when we come kind of work in solidarity with um other organizations and I just I think being invited to the 20th anniversary of desert Smash and having ctop be the benefic it's just a real real honor we're really really um really happy to be here and tell me what your charity does so um we uh we fund uh and and do grants for uh on the ground organizations in southern Africa South Africa Zambia um Zimbabwe Rwanda who do incredible work with very vulnerable uh people um they all happen to be young people uh Adolescent and um we support all of these organizations and it's an honor for us to be able to work with them in solidarity and how excited are you to play some tennis I mean you're playing with the best players in the world out here are you ready thank God because if it was just me everybody in the stands would get up and leave so I am really really happy that I get some pros around me and uh I'll be the hot mass and they'll be the show pretty excited did you do some working out to get ready to go up against these Legends listen I did but nothing I did is going to be enough for what I'm going to have to face but I'm just really again really grateful for the people who are going to carry me on their shoulders today amazing and this is one of the greatest events in tennis Indian Welles how is that good for your charity to join athletes it's about health um with the charity um listen any kind of awareness that we can bring to uh just the basic rights that all young people deserve all over the world um is always a great opportunity for us and I think having this kind of platform um I try and take advantage of it I feel like there's a there's like the the work that you do on the ground and then there's also the word work of spreading the information uh to people so I'm very grateful that I get to do that here today chares it's great meeting you congratulations a lot of fun here 20 years of desert smash [Music] here with the legend the American Star Francis tifo desert smash how do you feel to be here oh it's great um it's a great event uh 20y year annual so you know that that's massive and um we got some big big stars here today so I'm excited to get out there and have some fun with everybody you're giving back to the community here this is for kids in South Africa what does that mean to you everything um you know obviously every kid you know of need every kid who needs help you know I'm always here for that um doing it for something bigger than yourself is always big you got to always pay it forward so um I'm a big advocate for that how great are these events for the sport ATT tennis you have celebrities you have music great I think I think the crossover is huge what what the game needs you know personalities to be able to show it you know in this form knowing that other celebrities actually know who you are and you know follow the game you know it's big so um the these events are definitely big eye opening and and games relationships right so um I'm excited do you like coming out here before to kind of loosen you up for the Indian El event no doubt you know do something chill do something relax everyone having fun you know drinks and everyone's hanging and then uh and then we get serious later in the week Dude Love You Man red white and blue how you feeling out there you're going to win a major I think you can do this yeah yeah no doubt that's that's the plan and hopefully get that done next couple years and and start a real Legacy we're here with Jason Collins a regular here at Desert smash this is what you love tennis tell me how it feels to be out here oh it feels great it's it feels great to see some of the people from uh that I've become friends with over the years uh come out and play and even the same uh Pro Matty ebden from austral is here and I got to play with them last year and I I beat him you know I did well here he comes right here I can't beat him at the slice game I cannot beat him he's the king he's the kick what do you guys love about desert man oh I mean look where we are out in the desert here it's just beautiful tennis desert friends family everybody together playing tennis it's no no better place for it I think in the whole world and is this event one of the best in the world it really is I mean look at the atmosphere the vibe all the people for great causes as well I've been coming here I think over 15 years and I'll keep coming back and what do you love about live ball guys I love getting into forehand slice battles against the pros testing it out yeah the competition the competition the competitive little juices and flowing and uh everyone wants to get up there be the be the kings of the court so uh that's it's fun competitive final question you're giving back to the community as well how's that feel it feels great it feels great to be able to help other people in need so and all through sport it's amazing massive I'm just yeah so happy that sport is able to do that you know became a tennis player and then all these things that come with it it's just a bonus so I'm grateful to be in this it's fun to hang out you're a big part of it you played pickle ball you're here at the tennis how does it feel to give back to the kids with Charity it's awesome it's kind of you know different charity each year I know this with Charlie the on kids from Africa so hopefully they can raise a ton of money and um you know that's kind of the main goal here is this the best party in tennis uh it's one it's up there it's definitely up there here with red food not only a great pickleball player this man can play tennis and that's what desert smash is about yeah are you excited I'm very excited I mean I mean all these players here just the whole charity what it stands for the children it's just it's just an amazing event and Tennis yeah that is my main sport tennis time ball let's go and how about the excitement to be with the Legends are you ready to battle these guys or what you know what actually I don't think I'm playing out here with them because I think I got too much heat you know what I'm saying sometimes you got too much heat and uh so I'm going let some other people you know what I'm saying uh but uh but the Legends are are here I mean Francis I saw Francis and he said are you playing are you playing I said what you he said I don't know if you you know and so he I said you know what you do is you do it it's your thing you know and no I I kind of made that up but um I did see friends but he talking about some other stuff you know but um it's going to be an amazing thing I mean I want to see Roode and Francis I think they got the singles going on and that's going to be cuz you know Rue got the heavy he got the heavy the heavy stuff you know he's an athlete I heard he's a great golfer um so that I'm looking forward to seeing that so it's just going to be incredible but I mean the crowd's already here everybody's already hyped I'm hyped and uh it's just going to be uh an amazing stuff great for the sport of tennis isn't it well yeah it's great for the sport of tennis just the desert smash being in I mean the be the weather is beautiful and um you know this is tennis is like the OG Community you know everything spawns from tennis you know you got tennis and then you got you got pingpong you got pickle ball you got padal is All Tennis is the the the this the the the grand uh primary you know the goat tennis is the goat tennis is the goat of Racket Sports let's just say that the goat the B the B of Racket sports that's what T is [Music] here with Reggie Bush and the Beautiful Bush family we're here at Desert smash uh it's only fitting here with the family cuz what a great event yeah it's amazing event obviously you see um a ton of people out here great turnout also kids is here as well we got a chance of playing the live ball earlier she killed it she she she carried me um and she did great so we enjoyed that experience and we're so appreciative for them inviting us out here to be able to take part in this event um because we love tennis and um you know tennis is a sport you can play Forever you're a world class player on football also college football so what's her future in tennis maybe going to play for an Ivy League or Go Pro or what um I want to play for the pro he wants to play pro yeah which which which which uh tournament do you want to play in most the Grand [Music] Slam Australian Open um US Open US Open the indan Wells and Wimbledon well we want to be covering you in the big stage okay we need a few more stars and uh how great is tennis for the family oh it's so good it keeps us active it's I mean other than golf you know cuz golf is another sport we get to do as a family it's a nice family activity we get to do tennis we go out there with our daughter hey and it's it's fun I think that's an amazing sport that's what's unique about tennis is Men Women can play it together I can't play football with my daughter you know what I'm saying on the football field um but we can go out on a golf course or on the tennis court and and and have a blast and have a great time and we can do it forever so that's why we love this Sport and this event's so special isn't it absolutely and it's an international sport too I think that's the other thing we love about it is it's an international sport um it's it's it's an international language you know what I'm saying it's people all over the world play this Sport and you don't even have to speak the same language to be able to step on the court together [Music] [Music] on Jabor we're here at Desert smash you were amazing how was the vibe out here uh it was very nice I really enjoyed playing here and uh I uh hopefully I can come back another time I just uh love this kind of play and uh looking forward to stay here for the next match and what's the excitement like these fans were going crazy uh you know you uh you have to have fun on the court and uh they uh have the perfect energy for that um they were really amazing giving me some tips during playing so that was awesome you do so much for the community and really the world and this is giving back to kids in South Africa so what does that mean to you uh it means a lot because uh um first I'm from North Africa so I'm representing the African continent it is really important and uh I appreciate what Charlie is doing and what this this amazing event is doing for these amazing kids um maybe hopefully we can uh work closely together with my Foundation to do something better for the kids how does this help before Indian Welles to loosen up a little bit uh it's amazing yeah just you need to let the stress out a bit and uh I definitely enjoy playing [Music] here who be kcots here at Desert smash uh were you having a good time out here on Center Court I think for sure I mean there was I think the fans also enjoyed it and uh that was fun to play with with Gavin and how does an event like this help you uh with your tennis game and in general it's uh it's really special that the people are enjoying tennis and it makes you just uh appreciate the the things what was the vibe out there how was the fan support oh that was great the fans were fantastic uh the vibe everyone's super happy super positive so and the weather is fantastic how do you feel right now how's your game feeling quite good uh I mean it's we're going to see but uh we definitely been putting so much work with with my team with CB with my coach so it's it's going to it's going to get there at some point sooner or later hopefully sooner well you're great and uh I guess final question uh what does it mean to give back to the community here it's a charity as well that's something that uh that's really important and uh just also it's so nice that the people are here they're they're giving back to the charity we're supporting it and it's really just important that that when you can also also as a person just uh to to be able to do it it's it's really really fantastic and it's really means means a lot also to give give [Music] back what brings you back to Desert smash uh I just I just love the whole atmosphere I like tennis uh Ryan and I have been friends for 20 years I like that we try and make the world a better place and you are helping I get I get some free food tacos and uh free shoes what do you want what what more do you need how great is this for the sport of tennis to have the celebrities joining with the tennis stars you know it's great it's uh it's a fun place to be uh every celebrity wishes they were a tennis pro and every uh every tennis player wishes he was in movies I think is this going to inspire you to pick up a racket or what uh I play tennis every day of my life so so I already play could you take these guys down maybe I could take them for a game and then they realize that my unorthodox way is is tricky I'm a tennis player man that's why I'm [Music] here hello everyone and welcome back to World tennis I'm your host Harry chmo Indian Wells truly was an amazing event and now let's move our Focus to the Miami open at the beautiful Hard Rock stadium in South Florida another Master's 1000 event on the ATP Tour and Chris Eubanks joined up with FICO to help the community and the children in Miami he made a stop at Nautilus Middle School in Miami Beach to give Financial advice on behalf of FICO I think it's something that kind of gets overlooked a lot especially for kids around this age 13 14 it doesn't really get talked about often times until there's some trouble it comes so if we can try to get the message to kids at a younger age so they can understand the importance of it hopefully we can alleviate some of that trouble and just put them in a better position as they move further into adulthood so I think it's incredibly important it's uh it's missed a lot and so I'm just excited to be a part of of the FICO family and to have the opportunity to be able to kind of spread that message our Legacy here at FICO is all about financial inclusion and we're super excited to be involved with the kids and provide some baseline foundational information about the FICO score and how can help kids have a good foundation relative to financial literacy there's so many things that go into it that you don't really understand the breakdown of it so there can be a bit of confusion so to be able to sit there and kind of learn from from everyone at FICO for my own sake as well as being able to spread the message I think is a really really cool opportunity this was wonderful for the students they are so excited I think it was a great opportunity to learn at an early age about financial literacy and it's great to have Chris Eubanks here they're they're clearly thrilled in having a great time well it's just wonderful how he connects with the kids it's super he was able to share a little story about his uh past and his use of credit understanding some of the mistakes he made and then using that learning um as he went along to be able to improve his situation going forward so it's just really great to see him connect with the kids super fun I learned how to manage your credit when you're older and Chris also told us how he like struggled a little bit um and how to manage the loans and do it properly you know to have that that level of knowledge you know learn about FICO scores learn about the credit bureaus I think just enough of it will stick with them that when those decisions come around I like oh wait a minute I remember this you know in my fourth grade class you know fifth gr you know whatever it is they will remember it and that's when those decisions come to come into play or they'll make the right decision and the financially healthy decision you get just get to see how excited these kids are to just have you know us here talking about something that for some might be a bit of a boring topic but I seem seem to think that they were really really interested they were interested in just kind of being able to talk with me high five get on the tennis court play some points so I think all in all was a pretty good day well this truly has been an amazing event here in Palm Springs California an amazing event as the party continues for the rest of the staff and everyone in the tennis world I'm Harry chma so long from Paradise [Music]
