A 2000 self-propelled howitzer in the Kharkiv region: For a few days now, with the approval of the federal government, Ukrainian troops have been allowed to attack military targets in Russia to a limited extent - and they are doing so. We accompany a Ukrainian crew of a German self-propelled howitzer 2000 for two days . They wait for the order to deploy in a forest area not far from the Russian border. Then Ukrainian reconnaissance officers report; A Russian unit is moving towards the Ukrainian border. The self-propelled howitzer crew moves into position. At the direction of the gunner, the ammunition gunner loads the propellant charges for the shot. Shortly afterwards, the self-propelled howitzer 2000 fires on the advancing Russian units. The interior of the system becomes unbearably hot after just a few shots. Several commanders have confirmed this to me, including that instruments fail due to the heat. However, the Ukrainians are working on a solution. They will install air conditioning systems here in these self-propelled howitzers that were delivered to them from discarded buses that are not too big and can therefore be installed here. But still be able to provide a corresponding performance . After another mission, the men retreat to the shelter. Shortly afterwards a radio message: Two Russian reconnaissance drones searching for the self-propelled howitzer and a kamikaze drone have been located. But the drones don't find their target that day.
