we are just 3 days away now from the ABC News presidential debate both vice president kamla Harris and Donald Trump they are getting ready we are also seeing some major new endorsements now ABC's M wi joins us in Washington now with more M so glad you're here good morning how are the candidates preparing this weekend ahead of Tuesday Showdown hey Gio good morning yeah this is crunch time for the two candidates and as we take a look at both of their strategies it appears they're taking wildly different approaches heading into the debate just 3 days away former president Trump of course he has brushed aside traditional debate prep we know he is filling up his schedule right now of course there is a rally today for former president Trump in Wisconsin he is though holding policy meetings with advisers and joining a series of interviews in town halls now Vice President Harris is hunkering down we're told in the last few days in Pittsburgh with her team and we're told she has done at least two mock debates her team says she plans to share her story with the American people while holding Trump accountable while on stage and drawing sharp contrast to the former president and we are told that she will be in Pittsburgh until the debate which again is just 3 days away the last we heard when it came to debate prep when reporters were asking Harris about this she said Gio so far so good so far so good yeah and and now the Harris campaign is also picking up some more support M from the Republicans right we're talking about vice president former Vice President Dick Cheney I mean that's a big one that is certainly a big one this starts with his daughter first of course she had picked up that big name of the Wyoming representative Liz Cheney and now her father di Cheney is throwing his hat in there she is now getting his support uh he's basically saying he will be voting for her come November he is a former vice president he's a lifelong Republican he said this there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump now Harris is also receiving the endorsement of a representative Adam kininger as well as others and of course hundreds of other local Republican uh officials as well Gio all right M wi thank you so much so appreciate your Insight here we appreciate it and on September 10th vice president kamla Harris and former president Donald Trump are set to debate for the first time right here on ABC again that's September 10th 9:00 Eastern you can watch it right here on ABC News live Hulu Disney plus YouTube and anywhere else where you stream your news
