what is going on Jeet fans Matt oi back with another video in today's video I want to get into Hassan reic and there potentially being some hope that he reports to training well training Camp's over that he reports to the New York Jets sometime early this week Rich zini the beat reporter for ESPN New York was on with Will Parkinson on the turn on the Jets podcast and here is what he had to say about the Hassan reic hold out situation I know it looks bleak right now uh Douglas certainly in the press conference a couple of days ago did not exude any sort of optimism however I do think there people there are clinging to some hope that something that he comes in on Monday or Tuesday I don't think they have abandoned all hope we know the NFL is a deadline business things don't move until it's crunch time I think Monday Tuesday Wednesday that would be crunch time and so I would say there's probably a uh I'm gonna say maybe a 51% chance that he plays opening day how's that for a cop yeah no I I know someone asked me the same thing I said 6040 he not playing yet I just I just know how this league works and the deadlines and I'm not ready to abandon it yet uh I I think there's still a glimmer it seems like the New York Jets are still holding out some hope that either Monday or Tuesday which is tomorrow or in a couple days that uh Hassan reic will report and if that's the case it's going to be really really close a really close call for this game on Monday Night Football luckily in this instance the Jets have the latest game possible on Monday night um but it sounds like they are slightly optimistic that he will play a little bit in week one if he gets there Monday Tuesday I I think Tuesday Wednesday's cutting it real close Monday I think that's a full week before the game that feels like all right you come Monday can you give me 10 really good reps against San Francisco like some something along those play 15 to 20% of the the Reps uh in a strictly pass rushing roll maybe like fourth quarter Jets have a three-point lead trying to close it out can Hassan can you give me a good rep here on Third and eight something along those lines would be my expectation but digging a little bit deeper into this the New York Jets have a locker for him there he's doing an event in New Jersey on Tuesday day he's been posting these workout videos I don't know if this is just me coping it very well could be but maybe there's a chance that we see Hassan reic report early this week like Monday or Tuesday would be really nice this has just been so drawn out and my stance on has been the same for a long time now at this point like I just want both sides to figure out a way to get him in the building the Jets are a better team with him this is just I it's frustrating it's been going on for far too long there's no reason for this to continue to to go we we should not have to see the New York Jets play week one without their best pass rusher in a year where they're trying to win a Super Bowl like can we please just figure this out there's a deadline Sport AS Rich semini says in the quote um there's obviously they're holding out hope that he somehow signs early this week and is good to go I'm not going to hold my breath but just wanted to come on here and pass along the potential good news but anyway let me know what you think Down Below in the comments if you think Hassan reck is actually going to report on Monday or Tuesday or are the Jets going to play Monday Night Football and Assan reic is still not with the team let me know your thoughts I'm Matt oi and I'll catch you next time
