what have you made of the back pages this morning well I mean you mentioned the The Observer one the headline snakes bite and the picture of greish and rice both uh smiling obviously referring to the snakes are back banner and all the emojis that have been following them because of their involvement Jack with the uh the Irish age group and and deand with three uh uh with three senior appearances just ask um he s Jack Gish celebrated his go while Dean rice is saying I didn't want to celebrate cuz I you know felt it was disrespect but Dean still belted out the national it was a bit weird but but Dean's point which I thought he made pretty well is that uh he was being respectful to the to the memory of his grandmother and and grandfather who who were who were Irish but I think what this this does show and obviously it gets split into to two camps but I think it's the national teams nowadays are windows on the sort of you know the makeup of of a modern country I mean if you look at the England age group uh systems I mean they're all about 40% of them are dual qualified some of them are more than dual qualified for different countries so I mean you look at the Irish sub Casey mcateer is born in Northampton he's got one grandparent from Republic of Ireland and one from Northern Ireland he was making his his debut for for for the Republic of Island if you go through the England squad um Gibbs white think he's got connections to Jamaica Miki livero I mean I think Kane's got some is it Kane's dad Pat is has got Irish blood in him I mean it is you know that is a reflection just because you're 100% Jordy and I'm 100% Highgate or Hamstead um you know 100% Posh 100% that's peace for United so that's fair enough uh I absolutely take that um that's your team we found it Peter united we like we like peterb um so it is that is a reflection on on the modern world but also footballers are slightly creatures of convenience they will move around and you know if the FIFA eligibility allows uh Dean W to play three non-competitive games for for the and then move should it should because that has changed a little bit at one time once you'd played for your country s you just Wen up no I'm asking whether that should be the case or whether once you've declared for a country or once you've played for a country that's it what I do find is this is FIFA prepared to make the difference between a competitive game and a and a friendly game because I think if you go out there and you're representing your country then you know that is it but we do live in a very fluid Society so um what did you make of just the the atmosphere the celebrations from England the you know the whole event yeah I to H I can see either side I can see Jack Gish because that is Jack's character to absolutely go and celebrate his go you've also got to remember gish's situation he didn't go to the Euros he was heartbroken at that he knows that uh carsley really wants to get him in the team Carley it afterwards and you only have to go back to a a centry city under 18s game against Villa when Carley was cry's under 18 coach and he saw Jack greish and he came away thinking this kid is such a talent playing in the under 18s obviously he can play off the left we see that but we can play he can play as a number 10 so I could understand gish's exuberance in that playing in that position playing so well having missed the Euros Dean Dean was just being a little bit you know just respectful but I did enjoy on on Twitter the celebration police going absolutely ballistic with him the nonell celebration so look if he wants to do that I mean there of course you never have an opinion on X do you well no occasionally I still thought it was called called Twitter but no look he's uh I actually thought those two celebrations or non- celebrations just reflected their individual characters anyway we'll get more into England a bit uh later but also on in some of the papers particularly Telegraph Bly and Clear Lake put Chelsea at risk of civil War by Matt Matt Law uh Matt Law is incredibly well connected his story is you know he's probably you know in the top three probably top two uh journalists you turn to on issues at Chelsea um so I I think that is it is it is a concern Clear Lake and B prepared to buy each other out I mean Chelsea's a mess anyway so does chelse is a miss a mess but then if you've got a dysfunctional boardroom that just Echoes throughout the you know who is actually making the decisions egy absolutely you talk to people behind the scenes and they will say EG's been very much in control what does this mean to Moresco what does this mean to the Future direction of the club who are there some players there who are Clear Lake signings and some are Bly signings what does this mean for the stadium which is a huge issue for them because they can't continue at Stanford Bridge as is so I'm not saying they should move but at some point they've got to make a decision over Stanford Bridge so I mean it's just is absolutely a mess you know if you've got a divide in the uh I mean is is Tod B going to be put in the bomb squad and going to have to sort of enjoy his canopies in a different area of uh of of Stanford bridge on Match day it's not great if you've got a Civil War I don't know how bad it is but M resolved though because eali apparently has got no intention of selling whatsoever and buly wants to buy him out yeah I it's interesting reading Matt's piece that one of them wants to be there for three decades and one of them wants to be there for a decade look these are not football fans they are there to make a a profit they can see how you know if the television rights get unbundled or games get played in the United States obviously it's building up to 2026 they can see why the Premier League is so attractive but at some point they will cash out um there's another bit of a war going on up at Newcastle which is featured quite a bit this week in that sporting director Paul Mitchell seems to be rubbing up Darren eels the chief executive the wrong way eels is backing how of a transfer policy Paul Mitchell's trying to explain what his transfer policy is but that he wouldn't push it all the way to get gay he to 70 million quid who was what Eddie how wanted and since Amanda stavely left it seems to be disintegrating a little bit the the the bosses level above any how well the most important person at Newcastle United is Eddie how and Eddie how is such a good judge of players he's obviously building a team there you just look at how he's got Newcastle playing so well a lot of the players you get impression obviously they financial reasons but they're signing for Eddie how cuz he's such a convincing coach and he knows he's going to make them them better and I'm sure maybe one or two of the players in the summer had opportunities to go elsewhere but when you see Eddie Howen so what whatever they do whatever the the level of the falling out between eels and and Mitchell is and I don't know how deep it is you have to make sure that Eddie how is fine is leading things because you cannot have any situation that undermines could enhance his chances of going to England though well this is your issue and I know you want Lee Carley out but he but he I mean as a Newcastle fan you should be wanting Lee Carley to do well because you want because because the next cab off the rank for the fa will surely be Eddie how did not say wanted carsley out however we will be having a discussion about the latest on carsley and Anthem gate that's coming up next on am on da via the talk sport app and on your smart speaker talk sport
