phone with my dad and he was the one that just told me he was just like yeah Rich mewan he died and I was like dang he really died like I listen to his music too and everything that's crazy bro but I'm about to give y a reaction to it so let's react to it man welcome back in here to live now from Fox I'm your host Christina Evans We are continuing to follow more breaking news from around the country and this story is coming out of Atlanta Georgia want to pull up a tweet for you right now we do know it has now been confirmed that rich homi Quan the rapper has passed away at the age of 34 now this is a bro he was so young too that's the crazy thing about it bro damn bro rest in peace Rich Homie Quan bro I don't think he deserved to die bro he really didn't nobody deserves to die bro but it's like dang bro damn bro according to several family members and has now been confirmed by fton County as well we do want to keep up with the story because we know that Rich Homie Quan as this tweet said provided so many folks with hits during the 2010 you knew you were in for something special as soon as you heard his voice and his hook our hearts and our hearts go out to his friends and family rest and power Quan and that was a statement that was released earlier today from BET Also earlier today I was able to speak to a journalist there in the Atlanta area who knew Rich Homie Quan and extensively covered him let's listen into those comments here on live now damn she kind of bad though I ain't going to lie she just smash like I already know no like some real [ __ ] like I know rest in peace no rest in peace rest in peace my boy rich homie Kwan but damn she bad as [ __ ] golly y'all can't be putting bad girls in front of me bro journalist and author of TR hey let's take a 5c prayer real quick man 5c of Silence rest in peace to the goat bro rest in peace to the goat culture and the impact of trap music AR thank you so much for being with us here this afternoon quite a shocking surprise of course but for those who don't know Rich Homie Quan and the impact that he's had on music scene globally can you sort of speak to that a bit and do get people caught up on what his life and Legacy yeah definitely so rich homie Quan damn he got a fat ass forehead oh no oh no oh why is it so shiny though imagine kissing that thing on what his life and Legacy yeah definitely so rich homie Quan he came into prominence uh in Atlanta around 2012 2013 he came he look like a goddamn [ __ ] Arch Wizard or some [ __ ] he look like a goddamn Arch Wizard or something he came in prominence at a time when Atlanta was kind of going through a transition from uh the outcast ti. gz Gucci Man era and it was a new uh group of artists that was coming up where there was uh Rich Homie Quan Young Thug future he was a part of this I'm sorry I can't look at this [ __ ] forehead we skipping this [ __ ] bro what is he ya about and he became you know a global sensation he became an independent artist in4 like Rich Homie Quan his loss is there is definitely impactful to the Atlanta industry rest in peace bro we've seen rich homie Kwan his music of course was huge and like you said in the Atlanta music scene but also globally he was marking and making his way up the Billboard charts in the early 2000s and the mid 2000s as well he also was able to be nominated for an iHeart media award BET Awards as well the impact again that he had on the music industry he sort of changed the way him and Thug the way that music sounds can you sort of speak to that and what that kind of meant to other artists all across the country yeah so rich homie K he he came uh into prominence again at a time when Atlanta was going through a transition from a from a musical standpoint and him Young Thug future they all had this melodic type of flow that they would use and it was different from oh my I can't take this dude serious bro every time I look at him all I see is big fat ass forehead I think his forehead is more shinier than my d Ling bro like I'm just keeping it a stack his forehead is shinier than any jewelry I've ever seen like I'm not even joking I'm being so for real what what was pretty much serious presented earlier in Atlanta music where you we had the crunk era you had early forms of trap music where rich homie Kwan was more melodic he he was someone who uh you know he wasn't a singer but his his songs were very rhythmic and you could you can kind of you know hear The Melodies and his music and so he was someone who kind of ushered in new sound uh in Atlanta Hip Hop and pretty much hip hop uh Nationwide from a global standpoint because as we all know the sounds from Atlanta pretty much influenced the world and so rich homie Quan was one of the individuals who helped to influence uh not just the Atlanta sound but hip-hop overall yeah absolutely and we're seeing rest in peace post flowing from all over the country other artists who respected him and it's just going to be a tough hit for those in the music industry and of course anybody who enjoys the type of music that he made and play I just going to kiss that girl so goddamn bad man like like like like why is she so goddamn bad like no though like no no like rest in peace my boy Quan bro rich on mewan like oh God like I really like your music bro I got you in my playlist and everything bro but like damn she bad as hell bro so not only do I got to deal with a fine girl in my face but I got to deal with this [ __ ] with a fat ass forehead that's so goddamn shiny with his dirty ass hands whatever bro wait yeah definitely I mean you got you have to understand is that uh a lot of people grew up on his music and you know there's a whole generation uh that are adults now uh Millennials uh who who grew up on Rich Homie Quan and and some JZ who grew up listening to his music and and and um you know to see someone pass uh again uh you know some of the reports are saying that it was an overdose uh but you know to see damn so he died to a overdose man that's D bro rest in peace bro d bro that's why bro that's why people can't be doing drugs Bros like just stop all them drug stuff bro like that stuff just not cool bro you got to realize you got people that love you family bro friends bro y'all got to stop doing them drugs bro like it's just not okay no more bro like juice World died to drugs Rich my boy Rich Boy Kanan like everybody dying to drugs nowadays y can't be doing that no more bro see you know another person a young person uh pass is going to definitely just you know have another it's it's another sore eye another black eye for the hip-hop Community absolutely and like you're just mentioning another one this isn't an uncommon occurrence unfortunately in hip-hop we've seen several artists pass in the last few years whether it's due to gun violence or drug overdo doses which there's no current cause of death out there right now but just thinking about that how do you think that people are going to react to continuing to see young artists who are inspiring them pass away at such a young age AG yeah I mean it's something that needs to be addressed I mean we're seeing uh young individuals pass just a few days ago fat man scoop who was a who was a major artist uh in in the industry he passed and we see we're seeing that a lot of artists are passing at a young age due to either poor health violence or or drug overdosing so it's something that as a community in Hip Hop it needs to be addressed you know why are young artists dying so young and so I think you know we we have to talk about mental health it's like it's like it's like becoming a rapper is like almost like a curse it's like you you become a rapper you just die bro like am I tripping bro like it's like like remember like back then it's like whatever rapper became age 21 they die it's like multiple rappers died at the age of 20 I just feel like bro like rappers like they got to pay I feel like they got it worse when it comes to YouTube bro cuz everybody just be wed to go and kill them and stuff bro I don't understand why I just don't understand why though the access to healthcare uh you know what's being done to really um ensure that these artists and not just the artists but the people who follow the artist that if that that there's some type of standard in terms of checking for your mental health checking for just your health your overall how you feeling on a day-to-day basis and so hopefully this is a wakeup call to just this generation about you know what's important to to our lives because you know we don't need another artist or anyone uh of that age to pass is that sketch oh no that's oh that's somebody else no I'm not even trying to be on I thought that was sketch bro like with just with longer hair no let me stop bro let me sh shut the [ __ ] before that time absolutely AR thank you so much for joining using bro rest in my rest up rest in peace my boy Rich Boy K Quan bro everybody spam rest in peace in the comments you don't say rest in peace you're gay you don't want to be gay but um yeah man that's the end of the video bro
