[Music] it's game week Patriots fans and we play the Bengals in week one on Sunday afternoon but I would love to go live for week one I would love to go live on Patriots today by chat sports for every season kicks off for the Patriots on Sunday but right ahead of that I want to break down on today's show the depth chart that has now released The Unofficial depth chart ahead of facing the Cincinnati Bengals because there's still a lot of questions and switches on offense and defense that may not be settled until game time on Sunday which honestly makes me even more nervous going into week one to face the Bengals so let's go ahead and talk about the thing that has been on my mind the ENT high off season and that's been the offensive line there has been a huge question mark surrounding who's going to protect jacobe Brett's Blind Side is everybody healthy is the offensive line ready to go but to be honest it's still a mess all off season gerro Mayo has been trying to figure out which five works best to go ahead of jacobe brassette or Drake may but then he made brassette qb1 and he wants to put the best players that he has in front of him but here is what the depth chart is looking like ahead of the Bengals matchup on Sunday as you guys can see a lot of players have already switched positions here City so who hasn't practice all week long because of that lower leg injury may not even be ready to go on Sunday which means Nick Leverett who's obviously the backup for several positions here would have to step in Chuck a COR for who did play left tackle in the week three preseason game but has been taking mainly right tackle reps all offseason now switches back to the left side then you put Mike and wenu who was originally Your Right Guard and I personally think he plays better at Right Guard back to right tackle but then look at the right guard position leaden Wallace the fourth round draft pick in this previous draft you're putting a rookie up on the right side of the New England Patriots offensive line notice how you don't see any verian low here that's because Verdan low is also questionable ahead of Sunday's game alongside City so so you've already got two fat Q's right next to their name in The Unofficial depth chart which makes me very nervous now you've got a rookie on the right side as well it may be very fluctuating because gerod Mayo has also said yeah this this top five this starting five it may not be what we roll with on Sunday when it comes to game time but why don't you know how do you not know who your best five offensive linemen are despite the injuries from so and Verdan low and who should be protecting your quarterback when in week one and Jon Mayo said earlier today the Patriots are still going through picking their starting five offensive linemen for Sunday David Andrews mentioned on the zoo and bertran show this morning that City so is still walking excuse me working through an injury so even the center David Andrews does not know the two men that are going to be lining up to the left and the two men that are going to be lining up to the right of them ahead of Sunday's matchup and I'm not honestly sure how I feel about leaden Robinson starting as the Right Guard I know this is going to be a pretty tough game in terms of offensive movement on Sunday just because the Bengals who didn't even have a top defense in the NFL last year are going to wreak havoc against jacobe Bret because there's so many moving Parts in the offensive line but now you're sticking a rookie on the right side I would much rather see Nick Leverett who's got some experience step up over that position but like geran Mayo said they're still figuring out who those starting five players are so I have a question for you guys here because of everything I just told you about all of the question marks around the offensive line how many times do you think jacobe brassette gets sacked in week one versus the Cincinnati Bengals because let me break the ice for you it's coming brette is going to get sacked numerous times but how many comment it down below let's talk about the other side of the football here the defensive line the asset that the Patriots fans can actually harp on because the defense produces year in and year out Christian barmore Replacements just until he does come back from dealing with his blood clots I'm actually very excited for Daniel eal to get this starting nod instead of Christian barmore I I think he's been working his ass off in preseason especially working through those top three games without having Christian barmore there but obviously all eyes are going to be on Keon white here oane zimz who is in the back of the depth chart behind Keon white he did just return to practice earlier today so that's great news Jeremiah farms and dietr wise Jr all looking great the defensive three4 front looks like it's still going to be solid but Keon white is who I really wanting to see perform cuz I do miss Christian barmore you know that that's been out there I've seen that when he turned 25 years old I'm 25 years old being diagnosed with blood clots is extremely scary it's a long recovery time so with Christian barmore he also hasn't been hanging out with the Patriots defensive line or anybody on the Patriots because he's been dealing with those blood clots and taking care of himself but the good news is earlier today Christian barmore was actually hanging out in the Patriots locker room before practice so he's still surrounding himself with the Patriots defensive players and offensive so it's great to see him stepping up and making sure that he can still be a vocal leader even if he can't physically be there but I want to talk about a leader that's really stepping up here knowing that Matthew judon is officially gone there have been reports that Keon white has now moved into Matthew judah's Locker that's huge I mean I think that's just taking a whole metaphor of I couldn't be a leader like Matthew judon and taking it one step further and I I love what he's doing right now I think that that is showing the team that you can replace Matthew judon but he is now going to need to back it up on the field because Matthew judon has a hell of a lot of a sacks that you are going to have to try and replace the last year obviously four sacks in four games he got hurt before that 12 and a half sacks before that he had 17 and a half sacks excuse me 15 and a half sacks Keon white needs to be producing just as much as Matthew judan was to be able to fully replace him but coming up I have three more takeaways here from the Patriots death jart so do not go anywhere we still have to talk about the wide receivers the Special Teams and then I got a little bit of an injury update here the depth chart I had of week one is the wide receiver rankings we know that this offense is a little unusual for the Patriots as the really is no star studded wide receiver one doesn't mean from lack of trying they tried to get Calvin Ridley Brandon iuk Debo Samuel and really nobody wanted to come to New England that's fine I think we have a great wide receiver room nonetheless when you're looking at the wide receiver one I notice that Demario Douglas is still going to be your top Target for New England on Sunday now now they may end up spreading that out with Jaylen pul a little bit that's currently at wide receiver 2 Jayvon Baker more of your big play maker at wide receiver three then you have tawon Thorton K Shan booty and KJ Osborne underneath that but Mina kimes also touched on how it's really anybody's game in this receiver room because there's no obvious number one here the opportunities are there for the taking and I think Jaylen poke is the kind of player who early on will get a great deal of more targets than any other room iies purely because of the situation at hand jacobe Brett has his pick of the litter you want to go to De Mario Douglas for a quick slant absolutely you want to do a quick 10 and out with Jaylen pul you can you want to launch it 60 yards up field for a touchdown pass to Javon Baker go on ahead and rip it I think that the Patriots have a phenomenal situation with the wide receiver room there's room for growth there's also room for maybe a trade if you want to add somebody of that caliber but I think in the rebuilding year the Patriots do have a pretty good wide receiver room so now I ask you guys with Jaylen pul maybe being wide receiver too on Sunday maybe he'll be wide receiver one depending on how Alex Van Pelt wants to utilize the comment section down below and let's talk about the Special Teams here just for a quick moment because the one thing that I notice it kind of goes hand inand with the wide receiv receiv group because they picked up four players off the waiver wire they did let go of Jaylen rer who was the Patriots seventh wide receiver but he was also the punt returner and the kick returner for the Patriots last season but because they now have a new kicker in place with Joey Sly they also have a new punt returner and a kick returner for this upcoming season it's actually safety Marcus Jones excuse me cornerback Marcus Jones now I'm really starting to miss Jaylen rer at that position because yes while he wasn't the top receiver for New England he was their top punt returner and kick returner and especially with the new kickoff rule I think this is where you really need to utilize your returners while Marcus Jones has good hands as a quarterback how is he as a receiver this is why I touched on a few videos ago talking about free agents pick up and I actually said Jamal agnu just because of what he can do as a kick returner I think I'm actually going to miss Jaylen rer in the backfield I love his speed I love David Wallace's speed when he was when he was in the preseason for the Patriots so it may be a fluctuating role to see if Marcus Jones ends up staying there after week one because I haven't seen enough to be honest he didn't take any reps in the preseason we saw all that being Jaylen rer and now Antonio Gibson a running back is the backup in this area not a huge part of the game but it matters when it matters last but not least the backup tight end position as you guys know the Patriots didn't end up keeping three tight ends and Hunter Henry Alex Hopper and then you also have jaem Bell so with that being said how who are we going to see the most here on Sunday because Hunter Henry did return to practice just last week he's been dealing with an undisclosed injury but you know Hunter Henry was also the top excuse me second leading receiver for the Patriots last season so they really like Conor Henry here more towards the Red Zone type of plays but then you have Austin Hooper who really shined in preseason and one of my favorite players coming out of the NFL draft for the Patriots was Jem Bell I think they could end up utilizing any of these receivers just knowing that Hunter Henry still is kind of on that bubble of whether or not he's ready to play but if you ask Hunter Henry how he's doing he says that he's good and he needs to be good because he is a top receiver for jacobe brassette especially when it comes to Red Zone plays I'm not sure how many times the Patriots will find themselves in the Red Zone this weekend but if they do we're going to have to have a great blocking tight end there needed if he if he's available or use his hands in the end zone so with that being said will Hunter Henry be a top three receiver on the Patriots yet again he was number two last year or do you guys think the Patriots have enough receivers in their room that may be a tight end gets moved to the top five receivers for the New England
