Rank the Best 1990s Movies: Being John Malkovich vs. Defending Your Life vs. The Ninth Gate.

oh there you are YouTube subscribe if you're interested but also no pressure hey I think I want to do a random ranking what do you say we go to my movie collection behind me and pick three movies at random and then rank those movies based on whatever criteria we come up with I'll rank them here in the video but if you'd like to rank them in the comments below please feel free to do so let's get to picking some movies shall we maybe um I don't know let's let's see what this is It's a snapper case I'll tell you that much right now then maybe this and then I don't know maybe this movie let's see what that is we got to make sure I've seen them we also need to make sure it's not one that I've pulled recently for a random ranking seen it seen it seen it oh yeah what wait a second what wait a second okay so this first one here The Ninth Gate I think somebody suggested that I watch this with my friend Tracy or they didn't suggest it and I was thinking they would like it if I did somebody who's been commenting on our our uh reviews uh that we do together my friend Tracy and I sometimes will watch a movie and then we'll review it together and I think somebody said how about you watch The Ninth Gate and I looked down stairs to see if I had it here in in this room to see if I had it and I thought I didn't but it's in my hand right now I thought I had it but then I couldn't find it so I just assumed maybe I didn't have it but I bet what happened was I bet I was looking for the number nine which is all the way at the very beginning and here this is in the the N section I bet that's what happened is that where I got this over there or did I get it over there maybe it was the other way around regardless I have it so Tracy and I can watch this very exciting this is Johnny Depp this is Roman palansky um and I remember liking this I remember I one of my buddies did not like it but I liked it but I'm curious to know how I'd feel today day about it if I'd still enjoy it um it says uh the only thing more terrifying than searching for the Devil is finding him H next we have Defending Your Life I got this Edition for $1 this was a movie that I saw on a movie channel when I was very young and I I always remembered scenes from it and then I what did I do I think I saw this video here is that what happened I don't know something happened to where I was like wait a second I it like cropped up in my head I think maybe it was on a TV show or something I think that was it or a TV channel maybe I saw on a TV channel and I was like wait a second I know this movie I saw this when I was a child somebody's like ripped torn or somebody's going to eat some food here and love it but then he somebody's going to say let me have a bite and he's like you're not going to like it and then he bites it and he actually doesn't like it and I was like watch this this is what's going to happen I know this is something I saw when I was a little kid and I remember it then it happened and then I like maybe took note of what the movie was called or something and then found out it was called Defending Your Life and then I found this movie for $1 and I was like I need to buy it and I really do like this movie I think it's interesting and fun and Albert Brooks I just think is so smart and geniusly funny and writes great scripts and I love his humor so uh wonderful movie here uh I believe it's also is it on Criterion I think I think it might be um it's on some Boutique picked it up might be Criterion next we have Bing John malovich should I tell you what this movie is about a little bit um basically it's like you die or are about to die you're kind of in limbo State and then if you can defend the reason why you should live or you know give a good argument they'll send you back next we have Bing John malovich malovich malovich malovich malovich malovich malovich that's what I should have done when I pulled this up I should have just started saying malovich for like 2 minutes straight and then put it down and that was it just H maybe I'll do that next time if I ever pull this one again I'll just lift it up and be like malovich malovich malovich malovich malovich question to you is have you seen these movies right here and if so what do you think of them and if you've seen all three how would you rank them um I think I'm going to rank them like this oh look at this it says of Bing John malovich Roger Ebert Roger eert says the best film of 1999 I don't see any punctuation so it's not like question the best film of 1999 but I don't see a period either which suggests it is the best film of 1999 what did Roger Ebert think the best film in 19989 was was it being John malovich so I'm going to go ahead and go Defending Your Life at number one I could also see being John malovich at number one malovich malovic malovich Movic but I think for nostalgia's sake I'm going to put Defending Your Life at number one then being John malovich and then Ninth Gate Ninth Gate I need to watch a few more times I think I've only seen it maybe twice uh but I got I got to watch it again my my friend Tracy and I need to watch and review it but yeah one more time defending
