Springfield, Illinois residents gathered outside their police department yesterday calling for local government accountability that includes relatives of Sonia Massey who was killed in her Sangamon County home by an officer back in July. This comes as two people recover from a motorcycle crash last week involving a retired police sergeant facing AD U I charge during the protests. The family got to speak with officials including the mayor who has since apologized. Good evening. I want to apologize to Chelsea Farley and her family for this terrible tragedy they have endured as well as the other victim and his family. I want to thank Chelsea's family for taking the time to come and meet with myself and Chief Scarlett. I want to ask the public to understand why it took me a few days to make this video message. It was important to me as a person to meet with Chelsea's family first. The mayor also encouraged donations to a GoFundMe for one of the victims. Illinois State police is investigating the crash.
