while Donald Trump and kamla Harris went head-to-head last night in the ABC News presidential debate for the first and possibly the last time before November's us election Simone gabos joins us now from Burlington Spencer Smith Park with more on what happened last night well this debate yesterday was highly anticipated especially with the election just eight weeks away vice president KLA Harris and former US president Donald Trump went head-to-head debating a number of topics including the economy as well as immigration and abortion now many people I've been speaking to here this morning tell me that they tuned in to the debate yesterday and many people tell me that they think kamla Harris had the strongest performance well I watched it the whole thing and I think camela took president Trump to lunch I thought she beat him hands down Kamala Aris was a really extremely calm on the um speech and on the argument that she was a uh talking about if I can tell from external side uh which was better yesterday I can tell you yes Cala was better in the speech yeah now the 90minut debate kicked off with Harris walking across the stage to shake hands with Trump and introduce herself the two then laid out their plans for the future of the country while taking Jabs at one another Harris ended intensely to Trump's responses and used her facial expressions at at times to react to what he was saying without saying anything at all Trump criticized the Biden Harris Administration while repeating the false claims over the 2020 election loss the ABC News moderators also stepped in at times to correct any false claims made by Trump chch political analyst Keith Leslie said last night that kamla Harris came out as the strongest looking candidate of the two and during the night Trump reinforced his message with voters but couldn't maintain his message mess when it came to abortion and immigration now this is possibly the last presidential debate we will see before the election in November but we will have the vice presidential debate coming up on October 1st
