[Music] hello and welcome back to the foot and chips podcast um so uh we're going to be talking uh weekend games so we're going to do a preview essentially but obviously as usual uh because it's the beginning of the Season we've got a lot of transfers lot of news lot of scandals lot of gossips as well as something very special happened today but we'll speak about that in a second before we start fraud in the league yeah so T what are you saying um looking forward to it man I'm quite um optimistic about this game I'm looking forward to it I think um although it's in Old Trafford right um I'm staying positive that we'll get a result from this and that's not because they lost last week I just think that yeah I don't know why I just think that we do it so you know like the last the last time you visited Old Trafford was the league league game right yes I believe and you guys lost or drew that or did we play did we was it the FA Cup FA Cup game the FA Cup was the one obviously you lost um in extra time right 2-1 when yes was it rashford that scored or C man I can't remember um but then I think they they went back again right for the league game yeah I'm not sure how it was give me a second let me quickly check I can tell you exactly what happened last time so that's 2022 so it was a two- two draw so you beat so so you guys lost in the FA Cup when you should have won that game where you guys were absolutely all over them and they snatched there on the last minute then it was a two2 draw when you I think the week after you win or like on the weekend you yeah I think it was same week or something yeah and Mohammad Salah scored the equalizer so you guys scored first it was Diaz they equalized with Bruno Fernandez Kobe man made it 2-1 and Salah equalized to make it 22 but anyway how you feeling this time around though overall like with your team I mean Liverpool started well enough like they're doing well Diaz is scoring or one goal anyway one goal y scored assist Salah goal assists I'm not sure about doing well I wouldn't say they're doing well it's two out two unlike some other teams here so you know I mean in terms of results yes in terms of how they're playing I just think both games first half or second half better um I think they need to start better than they have in the last two games especially against Man United and especially the fact that it's in um Old Trafford do you are you um do you think the occasion might get to them again because this this man united team like no one really rates it no one rates ten hog no one really rates the players and both times Liverpool have went to Trafford last season or two but especially last should have won both games like they gave it away yeah exactly and this time around they've actually added more players they got xery holand has one full season in the Prem Dio seems to be a bit of a style boy for them now scoring rashford's just trash hopefully Geto plays the defense I think is where the weakness is still because M they've just spent a whole load of money in their defense buto he's injured yeah delay Del I got questions over him if he was that good why is he being passed around like the Town f regardless he's a high-profile player regardless of whether he's a high profile player he's meant to be more competent than Lindelof and Maguire fair enough uh it's still first time in the Prem though first time in a big game like this like Manu Liverpool I think apart like if you think about in Europe here you know like the big Derbies like in like uh in Germany like you got Bayern Munich and Dortmund and that's not even a derby that's more so because they recently became the two bigger bigger teams in Germany in Barcelona there's only one real big rivalry and that's the classical Italy you've got a fair few admittedly Inter Milan they're not even der Inter Milan and AC Milan is the real Derby everything else toine like Juventus they don't really have Derbies it's just big teams but in England there are proper Derbies yeah and obviously got the Tottenham you got the Arsenal you got now Chelsea Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham you got obviously the more historical one which is uh Liverpool um uh Man United and now City Man United City Liverpool as well so there's quite a few really high-profile Derbies and you like delict hasn't experienced that so you don't know how he's going to cope and remember they got Onana stealing goalkeeper you know but I I mean in terms of going to delay for some reason I think he would do better than Maguire and um Lindelof okay and 100% Johnny Evans I I can't see he's been the better Defender he know that I he's been the better Defender what what I'm saying is I can't see them going out and spending you know a load of money on a Defender that's going to be worse than their current center backs and I don't think there's he's going to be worse than Lindelof Maguire and um Johnny Evans and who's the other Center back they had four the butcher oh the lisand marras and and they've got um is Euro a center back yeah aleno yeah how many center backs do they have but he's injured so they got Lindelof Maguire yoro Martinez and the so and Evans so technically six unless you include Cala seven that's a luxury right there but how many of them high quality though it doesn't matter the fact that you've got it's just bodies it's just bodies even if you look at AR even Chelsea with the amount of like Squad depth they've got I don't think they've got Chelsea can Chelsea can make three teams okay let's talk about Chelsea four bro four get it right me four four okay well I I I just think having four center backs I think is a luxury six is I don't know I think I think six is probably modern day especially the amount of games um modern teams now play you're probably right but if but I think also modern players are now I mean some of them do get injured more frequently but some of them are getting used to playing these high amount of games however saying that don't you think Liverpool still should have the edge because your attack your attack is better more fluid your Midfield okay maybe the Fig fings out is really bad I just think it's really bad um really yeah I'm I'm very much I I don't know I just think our Midfield is even defense I I well you got vanak and Kai I'm sorry like okay fine if one gets injured fine uh you know you got you don't know who to bring on K Quanza is not good enough maybe but as as a starting for for me man united if they Maguire and Del or delict and Martinez was starting I still have questions on that do you get me whereas with Liverpool canate van djk I'm sorry that's a very good solid pairing like one of the best yeah so that's why I think again I think on paper you're still the favorite but it's you know yeah if think the middle of the park I think you're a bit weaker maybe last we we were that middle of the we can't control it at all yeah um and it's it's is endo not playing no no Endo is not playing is he injured or he just not in the plans I don't know I just I think he's just not in the plans because he played well for you guys even though he not yeah I thought especially like as a number six I think there isn't anyone other than him we don't really have anyone other I know he tried mallister a few times not slot last year clock but yeah it didn't work out yeah so I don't what about this new signing kesa I I just think he's just probably going to be a bench player isn't he like 10 12 million you know whatever he is you know he's not he's hardly a first team player um is there a bit of a panic bar do you think no I don't think it's a panic bu um I just I don't know I I don't I don't know we've got enough attackers it's I think it's more for Salah the right side isn't it he's no well when I've seen him play for Juventus Italy he plays more as a like a second Striker or as a left Winger well I mean I I think he's definitely not right winger when it comes down to our left side you already stuck we've got yeah so nun and and Y and yeah so I think he's more for the rights because if Salah gets injured we don't really have anyone no I agree with you but he doesn't play right if anything minimum he can play up front you have him back up to Y as a striker or nun as a striker I I think he'll be majority of the Season he don't you think he'll use Harvey Elliot as a right winger no I think javey Elliot I think he'll probably use Harve more in the middle yeah as can okay okay yeah wow but you you're window off I mean if you quickly had to rate it what would you say zero out 10 out of 10 zero it has beening bro shocking Liverpool's window hasing but we just don't have the money I think that's what we just I find that amazing how can you not brother a few things I wanted to add um first of all um I know T was saying it's a luxury to have six um center backs in United but let's put it this way how many of them would walk into any of the top six teams none I would say um I think you're right let's be honest bro I'm not even slagging United off I know Josh is not here but let's be honest none of them even Chelsea yeah we're poor defensively but N I would take none of them and I'm being serious bro like nah man and the Le bro I'm not sold on him I know he's a big name but that's what he is he's like a Varan he's gonna come in I think like Al said they for the first time no VAR left var's gone no var's gone he's similar to Varan in in terms of that name you know but I think he's not going to deliver bro there's a reason why always do but yeah this is the thing bro but in terms of the game I think um yeah Liverpool's Midfield I'm not a big fan of the Midfield I think T will agree he lacks a lot of quality um but in terms of you know J Diaz Salah and all that I think that's going to be too much Firepower for United to handle because bro United as well they stink man I don't know all right they're not looking good so you're saying Liverpool should win as well yeah yeah I think it's an easy win easy win yeah all right yeah United have spent a lot of money as well this summer haven't they they've I think I think Tag's total spending don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure someone on Twitter was saying he's now spent more than ATA as well in his three seasons he spent over six or 700 this summer this summer Euro was what 60 uh Deli was another 30 let's just say minimum um who else did they get mrai who's mazra oh yeah the the defender right back right what 20 Odo as well 16 let's say 16 so what is that you know that's close to like 100 already there Z 20 another 40 this summer yeah I don't know this is incorrect and then potentially taking Sterling as well you know what there's some I I'll talk about that in a second that's but think about it though it's mad do it Liverpool City Chelsea man where else United now if it happens obviously so but that's just that's just rumors I mean there's rumors Nunes might go to Arsenal Arsenal yeah yeah we'll talk about that we'll talk about that in a sec so yeah I think yeah I think there's no reason why Liverpool shouldn't beat this team anything can happen in Derby but Liverpool players way more experienced way more settled there is no reason why this Liverpool team shouldn't be able to win um yeah but that's leave you at that um move on to chelse see sou Crystal Palace uh at the bridge my mistake sorry before we go there it's about 150 million sorry 150 yeah in total I think he close to 6 or 700 now that he spent in three season which is kind of nuts and you know what one of the biggest complaining on like Twitter and YouTube I've seen from Manu fans they still don't have a style of play they don't know what they're doing like a lot of the time you can't see anything like it's really mad but yeah anyway uh Chelsea Crystal Palace Eagles at the bridge um I don't think the transfer's over but obviously Arsenal are about to sell Eddie and Kea to Crystal Palace um but yeah so what you saying s what do you think about Chelsea Crystal Palace bro after uh the Wolves performance I think that was the best performance under under this Todd B era um the attacking football that we saw it just gives me a lot of confidence we saw Netto Felix Palmer mad and all of them doing their thing you know what I mean um it could have been so much worse for wols I think the football be play I don't know if you boys watched that second half but that was just I just saw the yeah I know I know I shouldn't get carried away it's only wolves in it but bro for what I saw I was like wow I thought I thought um the attacking I think Chelsea attacking was amazing especially in the second half it was solid even in the first half attacking wise they were very good I thought defensively they were quite poor first half they ConEd some easy chances like you know balls that they should be winning it was straight away as well they scored then that they let wo score pretty soon after so the there are some issues there but obviously someone that did really shine was obviously madai obviously Palmer helped whatever Palmer's what do you think do you think this might be mad season or you guys need to find a way to have mad Palmer or it's just going to be no Palmer's still number one mad still needs to go a long way before he can get into the team permanently I think you know what mad has got a very good opportunity this season because now um on the left hand side we got it's not Sterling it's Netto so I think what happened was when Netto came on in the second half changed the whole dynamic of the game because obviously Woods were like ah we need to concentrate on this side as well so I think the bro you know I'm I'm gassed I'll be honest and it it's looking good man I think mad is going to start hopefully Palmer's going to do his thing Netto on the left bro you guys should be scared man I'm telling you you know I mean but think we're gonna have too much in the tank for Crystal Palace man I'm not I'm not so on Crystal Palace I think the main player ois has gone as well um you're not going to be worried about e n not really bro I think a he's made a slow start to the season as well I don't know I'm not I'm not as I think that's it really it's just e win to worry about but then if you if if you're Crystal Palace and you're looking at Chelsea now coming off this game against wolves and then their players that we got I think they're going to be yeah a bit worried mate you know what I mean well they should be hopefully so I'm I'm just looking at um the defense do you know what yeah they've got a decent like they got Dean Henderson or Sam Johnston I think Dean Henderson's the number one now um their defense is Mark gay obviously we know who that is and um who's Mar tarq Mitchell is the left back who's this and and where he's not there did he get sold no he's there man he should be no I think he got sold he's not there I'm looking at the thing now he's not there I think Nathan Klein uh Chris Richards I think one of those I don't know who the thingy is um Center back now for them but the Midfield is pretty decent you know Midfield obviously as a you've got kamada he's a one of the Wingers from Japan he's pretty decent Adam Warton I really like him I really like the look of Adam won they bought him last season he's really good n Go cck toore and some other guy I don't really recognize ishma s he's meant to be half decent then they got Mata as well as um dead the names you say meta BR meta and Edward I know no no no I'm not going to rate them in any way ish s I'm no I'm just saying he's the Winger he's the Winger meta and obviously they're the two Strikers that they have now potentially Eddie and Kea is going to be added to that but that's it but the the only chance they have is if e and I think the Midfield does something I yeah I don't know I don't know if if it's going to be too soon for Ed but obviously you guys bro let me show something really funny now is that about Chelsea he must be in it it's the Chelsea he is about Chelsea welcome to the Chelsea show okay this is this is what I'm I'm looking through the squad t look at this so this is where he starts here watch keep watching look look where they stop look where Christal Palace stops yeah are all these players should be the main pairing and obviously there's a lot of inexperience there but I think we just have to stick at it it's not a case of our let let's play about or whatever you know I mean I think we need consistency cuz last season our back line changed like 30 times bro you can't do that 30 times that's okay fine and obviously you've got like yeah it's just ridiculous how many players I mean there's one next player now lukaku's now been officially sold he's gone to Napoli so he's definitely not there L can yeah BR do you know the br's transfer failed it didn't go through deeps which year so he's back at the club now as well um okay so that's that apart from that yeah I would expect Chelsea to win I think Crystal Palace I think I'm surprised I'm Anderson's not there Terry can can you just check if Anderson's still at Crystal Palace or did he get sold because I can't see him on that list but yeah I don't think Crystal Palace have done enough especially they needed to replace oise and I'm not sure kamada is good enough and Eddie and Kia I do rate him but ah I like Eddie and K is good G Anderson's gone to F him yeah I thought so um yeah I just don't see Eddie unless he's in a team that can really you know play good football and give servey up on a play I don't see him like paring through or you know like I just don't see Ed and kit here being that lethal so yeah unless it's like a taing or you know CH to play a high lineer he can run in behind I just don't see it uh okay um so that's that so the next game I guess is actually the first game on Saturdays 12:30 it's Arsenal versus Brian at um the Emirates um I let boys go first uh tarck uh what do you want to say um yeah I think it's an Arsenal win Arsenal will be too strong for Brighton um yeah I mean there's nothing did you see any of the goals or highlights from the last two games no I haven't I haven't seen I know Brighton won the last two games didn't they Brighton yeah I think there's it's only handful of teams isn't it like four or five I think have won both games so far yeah yeah Charlie Charlie why why are you doing this Charlie don't be a hater come on BR yeah I'm I'm backing that bro come on yeah but I think I think AR Arsenal will be too strong for Brighton I think it'll be especially at the Emirates you know it's a no-brainer for Arsenal I think yeah uh s well I'm hoping for a potential banana sleep mate you know what I mean I'm I think um but I think you're you're too strong I think you haven't you know um there's gears to go you've started the season or slow even though you got your wins um I think this could be the opportunity to you know start playing some football and getting a big win but I'm hoping that doesn't happen but I can't see past the Arsenal win to be fair oh that Brighton Squad is massive as well you know it's ridiculous how big that Brighton Squad is so Arsenal last time okay so last season we played them first and we beat them 2-0 in December then towards the end of the season we played them again obviously in the AMX and we beat them 3-0 so that's that last five meetings they did win once no Twice they they beat us odd times but yeah but the last two last season basically both games Arsenal won um uh yeah I mean unless there's massive injury issues um yeah like you guys boys U Arsenal should win uh there is no reason why I think our defense looks solid I think Aston Villa we didn't look as fluid like it didn't look like the usual Arsenal self but nonetheless even though they didn't look theel what they were able to do is take the chances right that's all you can do so and you know they weren't exactly the easiest of chances some of it was luck some of it was good play and finish Saka just I think proving his quality even though he wasn't even having the best game at those little moments like when he's in the Box his cross was good enough both times to get two Arsenal players somehow and both of them were able I think for the first one because I think odard one of the ASV player slightly touched it he didn't get the assist but he did get the assist for the second one Thomas party did a very rare thing which was to score a goal um obviously arsa bought that new midfielder Mel Mourinho so because he got signed earlier in the week I think he might have a chance to play so I think I think that's going to be interesting to see if artetta puts him in the game straight away and I think the new the new formation Arsenal going to have um or the new Squad I guess in the Midfield is going to be rice Marino and odard unless Morin is not fully fit match sharp then it's going to be um partying there but there it's going be Saka either Trad or Nelly on the left and there is some questions on Nelly now as well his form's really bad I think either he needs to be benched for a bit longer till he fixes up let's let's call his P his p in it it's not his form he's just [ __ ] okay if that's what you think but he's he's just really poor right now um wherever he is he needs to figure it out uh Trad um I don't like as as I think Trad is probably our best finisher right now um in the Arsenal Squad the only issue is tra doesn't have that pace nearly has and he doesn't like the way Martinelli defensively can run up and down all day long tra doesn't have that kind of energy that's why I think he's been coming on as an impact sub primarily for majority of the games but when he has come on he's when he does get those chances he always finishes it and I always compare him he's a bit like yot in the sense that he's not big he's not strong but he's always in the right place somehow Left Foot Right Foot can finish very well so again that's something I needs to worry about K havitz I think he's just going through the motions he's just doing his things there's nothing really wrong older guard I think he needs to fix up a bit he had a good chance to score in the Aston Villa game I felt someone of his quality the way he's hyped up he needs to finish that um defense I thought Sala Gabrielle look as good Timba looked really good in left back I thought he did really well against Leon Bailey last year when Arsenal lost yeah that side guess who was there it was Leon Bailey versus zenko so and literally we were getting pummeled on that side Leon Bailey Crossing it in just you know running ragged basically we lost quite a few games every time that left side has been quite weak but now because it's jenko curri as well right Ben White is doing Ben White thing David Rya made did you see the save David Raya made oh the one where they came off the bar and then the head yeah yeah yeah yeah I thought is a world class save proper instinctive like you know got up straight away to save he didn't like you know like some Keepers like if that was on he probably would hit his head and gone back in or something like something stupid but yes you know brilliant save but obviously that's so I mean they should have been not that I'm saying you know like Brighton like Brighton they've got so many like the players are so talented the proper rule but talented but even some of the players they've signed um especially that Winger he did they didn't sign him I think it was a a dingra right like he looks really good uh mtoa as usual you know he looked he looks really good as well I think this is a quite dangerous game like s was saying I think it could be a banana slip if Arsenal are not careful because I think Brighton definitely have the Wingers and the pace to really get behind Arsenal and attack Arsenal in the like Counterattack sort of transition phase Danny wilbeck somehow has managed to find form all of a sudden he's scoring goals for them in both games so it be interesting to see yeah how how they plan that I do yet expect Arsenal to have majority of share Arsenal just quick other news Arsenal sold ramsdale so apparently he's going to Southampton now um and Arsenal now looking to get a second second um replacement second goalkeeper or bench goalkeeper whatever cover for ramsdale reyer basically so yeah that should be going through soon um apart from that there isn't much uh AR related stuff I can say I mean there are some rumors and and we can we can start talking about this as as a transfer segment now if you guys have any transfer rumors feel free to discuss I'll start off there was a rumor yes I was listening to this Arsenal thinking about signing Sterling yeah but that left side that rumor isn't they as so Sterling has been offered to Arsenal yeah yeah yeah so it's not um well the other no the other the other part to this is I saw that so apparently Sterling's agents or whoever Representatives managers whatever they've gone to Aral and said you know you know Stelling would love to play for arsal and AR again blah blah blah so Arsenal have now said okay and I think they apparently this is another Twitter thing that said Arsenal have made contact with Chelsea but Arsenal don't want want to pay a fee they want him for free basically and Chelsea want a fee so Arsenal like we're not in a position we don't need to but you want to get because Chelsea want to get rid of him so they can sign like Jordan Sancho or whoever else so he's not even that out you know what he's one of the highest paid players in it 325k a week yeah yeah exactly no no exactly and I think someone said like not someone on Twitter they were saying Chelsea will owe him like 70 million over his duration of his contract so obviously Arsenal no they're in a better positioning a bargaining positioning right now so they went in for a free as well as the lower wages which Sterling will accept apparently because he's just desperate to leave and wants to play so he'll rather do that obviously for the right Club so that there is that rumor as well so that's quite interesting I wouldn't mind him as a cover like uh to have Sterling Trad and nly on that left side or even Sterling to cover for Saka what you talking about I'll be more than happy I'll be more than happy u t you want to quickly talk about some of your transfers anything else to talk about Liverpool don't have any transfers and it's there's a player called Zu meni apparently yeah I mean look we've not money what's we've not spent any money for the last I don't know how long go I swear I don't know where the money is going um and I've always said this I'm somewhat they might going for Bellingham sou they might going for Jordan Jordan Henderson's going I I know where the money is going and his slot machine mate you know what I mean yeah come on bro well I mean I you know I've always said this to you guys I'm somewhat jealous of the amount of money I mean Chelsea man united even
