August 29, 2024: Postgame snapshots (Wake Forest defeats NC A&T 45-13)

first off congratulations on the win speak to the team's mindset in the second half as it seems like after a slow starting the first half you guys really seem to get in gear and get in sick yeah the mindset was like it wasn't enough like that first quarter and a half we came out we wasn't ready I feel like we wern't ready at all and the mindset was to come out and play come out and uh beat him like we supposed to do you know that was a big mindset coming in that second half speak to the adjustments you were able to make in the second half like a lot of us knows first half ent's ground game was was problematic and it seemed like second half other than a few plays you're able to get in sync just walk through again some of the second half adjustments that you feel worked yeah I think you know kind of going back the last question uh we were a little bit anxious and you know not fitting things right and you know not bring our feet wrapping up on tackles I think as we the game slowed down for us we were able to see uh the different things they were trying to do and how they were trying to attack us we adjusted well and that's all the credit to our coaches what's one takeaway you have especially how you guys were able to get in gear in the second half that'll help you as you prep for next week just the physicality of the game it's hard to go out there for four quarters week in and week out for 12 straight games so that's something that we're going to have to pride ourselves on as being more physical being the better conditioned team the stronger team especially as we starting to get get into conference play a lot of these teams ubaa next week they're going to have guys that are just as strong fast physical as us so being able to play four four full quarters is going to be important Mike based on your you know your study game film looking at Tendencies things along those lines what do you think really clicked to get you guys going in the second half yeah I think um yeah I think we definitely start off pretty slow um just getting in a rhythm there and like I said just doing your job I mean it's our plays are our plays and you got to go out there and execute it regardless of what the defense is and I think for us when we settle in was just doing our job every single play and execute your assignment speak to the ingame adjustments you're able to make especially with the line helping create those holes and spaces for you to go ahead and basically explode like walk through that with us yeah I mean so like the relationships I build with the O Lan is is more than just you know on the field and so those guys go out for me uh every play and they try to move the pile and they they get their best effort and so uh just it's a trust thing when it comes to us like those guys know that I'm going to run the ball hard and I know that they're going to block hard and so really just a lot of a lot of the stuff the relationships that that we have that shows on the field are built off the field and that's something as the offense that we wanted to make you know our our identity this year is uh get close off the field you know with each other and so just having uh that sense of you know uh Trust within each other allows me to trust uh that they're that they're going to open up the hole and I'm going to hit a full speed and and make a play
