welcome to another episode of the cold Take podcast I'm your host emelo naet where crazy perspectives meet hot topics and this podcast features my personal take on anything and everything um today we're going to go over NFL division winners um full disclosure it is Friday morning after the Thursday game um so if you watched my week one video you'll know I'm taking the Chiefs um and the Chiefs did win uh gous just terrible ending drive there by Lamar Jackson just couple overthrows um you know they had to use their timeouts early they get lucky with likely being out of bounds um because that would have caused a 30second runoff or a penalty and then you know if you miss miss it the second to last play he has a guy I think it was flowers wide open back of the end zone that's just an easy roll out toss play and he just totally totally misses him and then you know Isaiah likely catches a touchdown Which he was out of bounds okay um if you go throughout this video I'm just going to cover this on the side you know where everyone ends up I'll go through week to week but I'm not going to go through week to week picks if you want to see see that specific week um just go ahead and pause but I'm going to go through this um division standings right here okay in the um AFC West it's the Chiefs division until otherwise you know um the Chargers at 10 and 7even I think that's a good place for them to start and um we'll see we'll see what happens I'm you know Jim Harbaugh coming over totally new coaching staff Greg Roman the OC they've got players they've got the names khil Mack Joey Bosa Derwin James on the defense but what's that offense going to look like I don't know the Broncos 4 and13 feels a little light but here's the thing when I'm going through this schedule I'm just kind of going off my gut and it's like okay Broncos Jets like I don't think they beat the Jets and if you look like I'm not that crazy about the Jets you know um so let's who are they playing this week let's see um but anyway it's just like as you oh the Raiders so like look okay they beat the Raiders at home that makes sense so just as I'm going through these weeks basically what I'm doing is how do I how do I feel about that team how do I feel about their off season their change changes obviously no games have been played besides the one um is there going to be big culture changes with these new head coaches um like think about the Titans they got a new head coach they went from running the ball with Derk Henry and being conservative and playing defense with Mike brael now they have a new coach who's wanting to throw the ball they've got a quarterback in will Levis he wants to throw the ball trust me he wants to make cool plays he wants those highlight plays um so as I go through and pick these games I'm just thinking things like that okay or you just like look at the Patriots as of right now the Patriots I have them at 3 and 14 because well they're not going to play Drake May is that a season long thing are they going to hey Kobe play your games get us through this season we'll get a top pick they need to clean the roster top to bottom bill bich as an amazing coach as awesome of a coach as he was he tanked that roster like that is not a modern roster okay I'm sure their o line is great I'm sure they have draft picks late in the draft that are outperforming their draft pick compensation those things are good and dandy but at today 2024 you need players you need guys to go out and make plays so I think a guy like Travis hunter from Colorado would be awesome for the Patriots right like a guy who can just bring bring some energy bring some juice maybe make some plays on special teams make plays on offense um and then you bring in Drake May next year and get them from like a 3 and4 4 and13 team trying to get them up to a seven and 10 an 8 and N um start the gerod Mayo era build your culture this year next year kind of do better okay so those are all things that I'm taking into consideration the biggest the biggest changes I think um I think if Joe burough stays healthy Bengals when they're healthy and everybody's firing that's a good team the Ravens I didn't see a ton from them this year their offensive line was a worry for me coming into the season than you watched them last night and they pulled their starters they put in some different guys um it just weird so let's just break this down that that's just kind of my thoughts I'll click through the weeks after uh 30 seconds or so um Chiefs they're going to win that division until proven otherwise AFC South um I think this could be a team that or a division that surprises a lot of people I thought CJ stra should have been the number one pick you're going to see that when we get over here to the three and4 Panthers but I thought CJ stad was better than Bryce young I'll bag on Bryce Young when we get to the NFC South you add Stefan Diggs you add pieces all throughout that defense um you know they were the quote unquote surprise team last year but I'm like what are you surprised about you have a good quarterback now your head coach was a leader when he was a player like that those two things are usually pretty good okay the Jags they've got guys all over the field you know all in the 20s and early 2020s they've been picking High you know they had Trevor they had the back toback picks Trevon Walker Trevor Lawrence they've got guys you know um their receiving core is totally different this year Gabe Davis they've got a rookie Brian Thomas Jr like let's see what they can do I think they'll win about 10 games um push it up to week eight Colts big question mark with Anthony Richardson I think I like Chris balard their GM he came from Kansas City and kind of um the momes era I think he was part of the Mahomes trade and pick um or maybe that was right when he went to Kansas City but anyway Chris Ballard usually makes good choices they usually will have a good roster that underperforms and they've got some tough games um and I think their division is going to be tougher than people will anticipate the Titans they're going to go as um banana goes banana is Will Levis that is a shout out to the fantasy footballers but will Levis is he going to be a gunslinger for the good or for the bad okay 6 and 11 new culture new coach just too many question marks there but definitely going to win some games um AFC North you've got a couple heavy weights I think in the Bengals and Ravens Ravens are just tough to defend they'll figure out how to Derrick Henry um they'll figure out how to get Mark Andrews involved Isaiah likely looks like he could be a weapon the Browns again they're kind of like the Jags to me they've been picking in the top 10 pretty much my whole life they've got guys they've made some trades they've done some things they're trying to win ball games they you know that city is a great Sports Town that's just desperate for winning um between the the Guardians quote unquote the Cavs uh the Browns you know they just they love their Sports they want to win ball games they have a great coach savant's a great coach Steelers who's your quarterback eight- n who knows um you know Russell Wilson's okay I think he's definitely on the downward do they play Justin Fields do they do they totally just say you know what we need to just forget about our pride forget about going positive Mike Tomlin can coach everyone knows that it's okay to have a bad year can we hit the reset button they're not going to right they're the Steelers they're proud they're proud they have a city that is going to be loud and um they got to win ball games but I don't think they have the offensive Talent especially if there's quarterback controversy AFC East big dip okay I think the Dolphins are just too talented not to win the division the Jets they have have an interesting schedule since they had a they have a very low schedule pretty winnable schedule um of course as I click through that they're playing the Texans and I got them catching that l in week nine on a Thursday night that'll be a good Thursday night game but the Jets you know Garrett Wilson s Gardner Bree Hall they've done good in their first couple rounds picking besides um they took the Louisville tackle that was uh kind of a bust but but they're trying to fix it they've done a lot they've been Loud Aaron roders he can sling it like I'm not going to say that he can't sling it but is his off field distractions going to outperform his onfield play probably okay eight- N I think I think 10 wins is their ceiling a lot of people have them even in the Super Bowl I'm like no let's not go there um the bills I think they take a huge step back if Josh Allen gets hurt wof wof you've got Dalton Kade Keon Coleman I like his athletic profile like he's a big kid he's athletic I love his interviews in the draft process um but everybody else I don't know I think James Cook can play I think Dalton canade can play but I don't know about their defense they lost a ton of veterans um Patriots again that's the are we going to throw out Drake May are we going to kind of wait and tank and see what happens um NFC North powerhouses Packers and Lions I think really whoever wins when these two play each other if it goes 2 and 0 say to the Lions the Lions win that Division if it goes 2 and 0 to the Packers the Packers win that Division if they split it's going to come down to a couple key games and these both these teams you know they're in the playoffs last year Lions went to the NFC championship game they're both both going to have big games like look lions play the Texans this week um you're going to have big games okay are you going to win those big games I think both these teams are ready to do it 13 and 14 wins a piece like that's that's an awesome season it sucks that the playoffs aren't by record you know you get that if you win your division you get the home game which I'm all for okay bears at eight and N I love what they've done they they've put a team together I think they've cleaned up their defense they went out and traded for Mont sweat at the end of last year they've drafted guys last year and this year with this year in mind and they've got the pieces their offense is stacked in the wide receiver room tight end running backs are a little mid so that could be their downfall um that and their division is their division is tough like if you catch four L's you see I have them with three if you catch four L's two to the Packers two to the lions like that could be tough you know you probably should beat the Vikings twice but that's only because they don't have a quarterback Vikings they've got Justin Jefferson if they think McCarthy's guy if Jefferson I know he just signed the massive contract if he stays and likes what he sees from McCarthy you know I think he'll stay but what if they traded him what if they're just like you know what we're not we can't do it with just a really awesome receiver we need things we need pieces we need guys here or there um but four wins admirable admirable season losing what I think is your starting quarterback I liked Sam darnold when he was coming into the draft he hasn't proven it on the field so prove it on the field Sam darnold changed my mind and when I do a midseason video like maybe maybe we'll see okay you got all these Thursday game so that must mean it's Thanksgiving let's move into the AFC East um we'll go bottom to top here the Giants are bad they don't have any players they lost Squan Barkley I think them being on Hard Knocks is going to destroy their locker room their front office looked terrible their owner was like uh if we lose saquon Barkley like that's not going to be good and the GM was like oh yeah blah blah blah you lose saquin Barkley to your division Rivals like that is not good for your locker room that's not good for your fan base especially if Sequon goes out and just totally what if he goes out and has like a 200 yard game two touchdowns on the ground one through the air and just at Met Life like could you imagine that that's not going to be good um no faith in Daniel Jones no no clue why they signed Daniel Jones they had an out and they could have had a lame duck year chose to sign Daniel Jones they overdrafted him at 6 like if you remember that draft you're like who the heck is this kid he's from duke like no that's that's not how you win ball games Okay um I like the Jaden Daniels pick I I hope that the commanders I'm not going to say the other word whatever I hope that they can um I hope they can figure it out I like Jaden Daniels laot in college he was a ton of fun um Terry McClaren needs a quarterback needs consistency Cowboys too loud they're too loud Dak can win games but they they're too loud It's Time like they won't pay Mikel Parsons they weren't going to pay CD lamb like Jerry Jones you had an awesome run you won some Super Bowls in the 90s sell the team you too much nepotism you go look at their front office and everybody has last name Jones um as a Lakers fan when the Lakers started doing that and it was bus bus somebody's married to a bus that's when the Lakers started downpour and not doing so hot and um anyway Cowboys still squeak into the playoffs but 10 and seven I don't expect them to be crazy this next year Eagles win that division at 14 and three the saquan Edition to me if they use him how he can be used they're not going to lose very often okay NFC West I think is another great division um somebody Rams Cardinal Seahawks somebody in here is going to surprise and probably go out and win a playoff game okay they're all really good rosters anybody who knows me knows that I believe Brock pie is a top 15 quarterback I could have an entire cold take episode on that okay um NFC South garbage division I think all growing up garbage division was kind of the AFC South and I think they just switched it over to the NFC South uh tons of weapons here if kurk cousins gets injured guess what Michael penck can come in run that offense bejan Robinson is who I would take in fantasy drafts at number one um I had the I did that in one League took beon at one I just think he's so versatile Kyle Pitts in college looked crazy looked like he'd be awesome um and then Drake London all just athletic freaks can they figure it out the defense will get cleaned up they because they're in Atlanta they get free agents and you know they make the judon trade like 11 and six could be low for them Buccaneers I'm just not a baker guy I know they won the playoffs last year I know they Mike Evans is awesome but I just I don't know I think I just don't know enough about them the Panthers you ruined your franchise for the next 10 years you made that trade with the Bears you move up you take the wrong guy and now you're stuck with a dude who should not wear backpacks you see a picture with Bryce young wearing a backpack like he looks like my son my son's a in kindergarten it's scary he does not look like an NFL player um and the saints Saints are an absolute dumpster fire I'm going to call call it now they lose that locker room they're going to they're not going to win games and the only reason people like playing there is because you're in New Orleans you're in a Party City um I don't see them winning games I think their one win I had was with probably against the Panthers because I'm like yeah you can beat the Panthers like if you can't beat the Panthers what are you doing okay um I don't know if this going through these oh it does okay sweet all right let's do this live on video give me the Texans Bengals and oh uh no the computer's messing up give me the Texans Bangals Ravens I don't trust the Dolphins in the playoffs even at home um Falcons Packers give me the Packers ners Rams if the ners stay healthy they're a unit Cowboys Eagles not close okay let's see all right Chiefs Ravens rematch from week one I got to give it to the Chiefs got to give it to the Texans that this would be really fun that would be fun um I'm going to go ahead and give the nod to the Eagles and I'm going to give the nod to the Lions okay both all these rosters right here these are the eight rosters that you want in fantasy these are the eight rosters to watch out for okay this is so tough right here okay I I struggle because I the Chiefs in theory win this game at home Arrowhead going for the three repat momes all those things give me the Texans nobody wants to watch the Chiefs again give me the lons let's have let's have a firsttime Super Bowl winner huh I would love to see this this would be a ton of fun um wow coin flip game I love CJ Stout I love the culture that they're building there Dan Campbell told people that they're going to bite their knees off okay this is this would be honestly just like obviously like I said this is the Friday morning of week one of the 2 4 25 season as of right now everybody's healthy except for you know JJ McCarthy towards ACL the Vikings had a lot of injuries in Camp but everybody else is good to go obviously you know predicting this far out is is tough but man this would be of everybody here the whole NFL I think this this or maybe like Packers Bengals would be fun to watch the Dolphins are fun to watch I don't think anyone can not say that with all the speed they have but I don't want to watch them in the Super Bowl they're not a playoff team you got to be physical you got to you got to be physical in the playoffs okay I'm going to give it to the Lions why not all right guys that is my cold take have a good day
