yeah when I came out and said let's see what the hype is about I wasn't necessarily expecting the the bulletin p uh piece that went out so kudos to the uh media team Rob Matthew Christopher and the the rest of them so I'm glad the boys were able to to back up my my talk I'm a fun believer in uh talking and uh and backing it up so guys definitely uh had a good result um told them afterwards um regardless of the result we've still got things to work on but when we look at it from a very you know neutral experience on how we're building that's backtack regular season wins for us in in the Ganon area um in program history sorry we've had one one win before Ganon uh took over the program so now two back to back that shows that we're clearly doing something right which is really encouraging I think the way our guys went out there and competed it was definitely encouraging to see uh I don't think there were necessarily any surprises I think we are who we thought we are uh or thought we were and that that's good um when we look at our result compared to a year ago a lot of similarities maros with the lead we've uh Tommy Murray stepping up we've got Ryan Mona having his worst race of the season and that's okay because he's embraced that 10K mentality he's going to get better as the season goes on I think the difference between this year and last year is this year we've got Arizona transfer Noah and that's exciting what he's going to continue to bring he was in that top five I think the difference is going to be for our continued success Jake staying healthy I think when we look at at last year's result Jake getting a little banged off and not competing in that Championship segment probably H us a little bit and as good and great as we performed like you know there's a lot of wh ifs with Jake and then the final piece is you've got Evan one of the best freshmen he was he's the number two returning true freshman in the region you've got him waiting in the wings so really exciting place to be on the men's side on the ladies side we had a great opener I think on the lady side you had Katherine Soul who had the fastest uh time in school history for the genon era not named someone not named Daniel hling so that's definitely impressive as we was talking about last week having someone step up into that position that Danielle's left that was important for us and so f um fit right in um Taylor I believe was third in gon era uh from a time stpoint and not again not named Daniel hling so impressive results and I think on the lady side you've got a lot of room for improvement as we start to add some of these ladies who are dealing with Summer injuries a little bit of illness so there's three or four who are going to be able to be back in the next couple of weeks and that's really going to help take us to the next level questions I don't even know if I have any now um no I guess you know for the guys obviously placing is kind of you know a comparison to the to the field how did you feel about you know the performances themselves yeah I I don't think that as I said there were not necessarily any surprises and I think that's a good thing uh I'm personally a hard guy to surprise there's a lot of data within running from what we see and everyone has a range you know Ryan Mona's range is between one and six some have a little bit of a more range than others whereas someone might be 5 to seven or maybe on the lady side Katherine Souls range is probably 1 to three um so the fact that we're performing as intended is definitely beneficial I think from you know what we were able to do this uh past week it was a first time beating University of Nebraska car that's a good pickup for us that program is really done well in the last few years we had a ranked Northwest Missouri team on the men's side they were missing a couple of guys but I think it's still a strong performance for us and then an upand cominging South Dakota team so the fact that we're able to come out have a little bit of pressure on the men's side that they haven't necessarily seen go through a little bit of adversary adversity um you know be a little vulnerable have to make some tough decisions that was that's a good place to be as we back off and and go into it but in terms of like overall surprises you know the guys are they've moved on um they're they're not necessarily too worried about getting a win or not they know November is when it counts as coaches we're in the same spot I think for our underclassman especially freshman it's probably a little bit of a culture shock hey you guys just won and you you've moved on already so welcome to the program freshman this is kind of what we're about this is what we're building and that's a good place to be um I think what the biggest thing it does to our program is from an external Factor having our alumni out in support having our parents having the community um you know very Nebraska uh based race and so for the community to get behind what we're building what we're doing the amount of people who are reaching out that's probably the the best result that that we could have hoped for and we're absolutely going to build on it with a with another home meet here in uh in about a month's time the the women side of things obviously I don't know how close was that to your anticipated top group and and what's the injury status of maybe some of the key key players that aren't really in that rotation yet yeah I think from who was healthy it it worked out about as we we thought um from adding people back you've got Alexis Leon freshman who were just building back slowly um she had a little bit of a high school senior injury and she's we've played it super cautious so I would anticipate um probably the home meet honestly um not even Gans Creek in uh two to three weeks and she could be slot right into our top three uh top two probably um super talented fastest recruit we've had in school his so just absolute St Carly Manchester dealing with a little bit of just uh Achilles stuff and so it was more out of precaution she's she worked out this week looked great she's going to be in that top three as well and then Cody Ro is kind of one of the wild cards one of our more mid distance focused athletes um she's uh coming back from a little bit of illness as well and so really excited for her because I think um out of those threee adding up she's the one with the most upside she's not necessarily as a mid distance athlete someone who you expect but just great work ethic just a competitor from workouts and where she she was healthy just absolutely crushing it so you know bias as the mid distance coach but um she she's going to be a rockar these next few years I guess given the injury toll that that that group has taken on what did you make of what you got out of the group that was able to run on yeah super super encouraging I think uh as I said we're about where we expected and once you add them in it's it's really good it looks really good um so you know I think adding those three is going to take a little bit of pressure off and then it just gives you more depth I mean now your five is potentially your eight that's a great place to be so um uh main goal for us is being cautious you know the early races they're not necessarily as important as what's going to what's to come and so being overly cautious maybe some would say I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing right now with those ladies and I think the big thing is getting them back with the the group and kicking and B collectively there's another bu you thanks thank you sir you bet
