the Met Office has updated a weather warning stretching across most of the country including the Northeast with heavy showers expected to lead to some flooding the yellow thunderstorm warning issued on Saturday has been extended further west and north and now covers the entire Northeast region encompassing North umberland Newcastle gate shed North and South tinside Sunderland and County Durham the Met Office has also extended the time of the warning which was previously set to lift at 900 p.m. on Sunday but is now in place until midnight in addition a second weather warning has been issued for all 24 hours of Monday September 2th with thunderstorms anticipated to cause further disruption the med office said in an update on Sunday morning that heavy showers are likely to continue overnight and affect parts of the UK into the start of the new week with the possibility of weather warnings changing quickly due to the very uncertain nature of the forecast
