all right Ben Parker of cardinal Sports support.com here with Stanford quarterback Ashton Daniels so um first of all just talk about how has Spring ball been going for you so far yeah it's going great um you know be being in this offense I've built a lot more confidence um not in myself but but the offense as a whole um and I think we're we're coming out here putting in work every single day um we're getting better every single day which is our main goal of course um but yeah uh we're looking great right now a lot of young guys stepping up um doing their jobs which makes my job a lot easier so yeah and just talking about for you what areas of your game have you most been working on looking to develop uh for this upcoming season yeah um the the two areas that I've been focusing on the most in the offseason is um my footwork in my timing um at times it got a little sloppy last year and that affected um me out on the field um but I put a lot of work into it um uh during the winter time and it's paying off right now um I feel good I feel confident in my foot work in my timing um trusting the wide receivers um to be where where they're supposed to be at um and I think that that's going to help us out a lot just what are your impressions of the young guys in the room miles and Elijah just what have you seen from those two guys so far yeah um you know being being an early enrol Le in this offense it is extremely hard to come in and learn everything um at the pace that Elijah is learning stuff that um he's getting better every single day um you know he he he's a really really young guy um and he he's impressed me a lot out here um all the guys you know have a lot of respect for him because they know who he is on and off the field um and he's been out here balling so I'm excited for his future and then with Miles um that's my guy I love miles they've been both of them been putting in work um nonstop so um to see them progress from from when they first got here until now um has been a really cool thing for me um and for both of them I'm excited for their Futures yeah and um also to just kind of talk about what you another young guy want of you off is Tiger bachar what have you seen from him and what areas of his game you most kind of see him kind of take that next step in yeah um tiger is he's a gogor um anywhere you you put the ball around him um if you put it around him he's going to go up and and get the ball um and I think that's is that's what um builds my confidence in him the most um I see him I saw him do it in many games last year um I see it I see it at um practice constantly um and that makes my job easier um and I I think he knows that and that's something that he works on every single day he's always out here um catching jugs um you know doing what he needs to do putting in the extra work to be great just's talk talk about the relationship you have with Justin Lamson you know you guys kind of bought the different different packages different moments go under Center just kind of how how do you guys kind of work together and coordinate and just talk about the relationship the two of you have yeah um I think we're we're both here um for the same reason and that's to win football games um and we know that and and we you know we take pride in what we do um and and we play extremely well together um and we've just gotten closer and closer since um since he got here last year um which to me um you don't really see that at a lot of places where you know guys are competing for a job um but off the field they're they're still so close and I think the the family part of the culture that we have here um no matter the competition we all know that we're family and we're brothers and I see that in our relationship every day um we're always encouraging each other to be better out on the field because because at the end of the day we know it's better for the offense just talk about what have you seeing from the offensive line what areas have have you seen them most grow in and just kind of thoughts on what you seen from that unit so far yeah uh um first I want to start with with um Ju Just what they look like I mean our huge huge shout out um to our strength and conditioning staff um coach Dietrich and the guys have been doing an outstanding job with not just them but everybody um they're a lot stronger they're bigger they're faster um and that that makes it you know that makes them 10 times more physical um at the line of scrimmage which is what we need um to establish a run game and to establish protection and and we've seen that um we've seen that early on in Camp um we still have about a week or two left so um you know hopefully I I continue to see them them build every single day Zar Manley had great things to say about EMT Mosley last week just what have you seen from Mosley throwing balls to him yeah uh he he's just straight up a dog um I I that's the best way I can describe him um you know coming off of a knee injury um an ACL injury and being able to make the moves that he does um not only running routes but but after after the catch as well um is out of this world um and I know that that if I get him the ball he's going to go get five or 10 yards and most likely more um and that builds my confidence and I haven't even played in a game with him yet and I already have so much confidence but um he's out he's one of those guys that's also out here all of our guys they're out here catching jug every single day because they want to be better and um you know for for those young guys to step up is really big for our offense cuz we were young and inexperienced last year um but um but yeah uh he he's been balling um and I can't wait to see him in pads and in some games this year being from Georgia that's it's SEC land but it's also kind of ACC land as well with Georgia Tech and everything so just how do you feel about the uh the move to the ACC I'm so excited I I can't wait um you know that that's kind of not necessarily back home for me but just being on the East Coast um and and playing games in front of my family and friends is going to be it's going to mean the world to me um you know going to Clemson I have a whole bunch of people Inc State Syracuse all those places I'm going to have a lot of um a lot of people at um they're going to be there supporting not only me but but Stanford um Al together and I I can't wait for that I'm extremely excited yeah and uh just kind of final question for you uh just kind of uh academic wise any interesting classes you take kind talk about your major kind of how what are things on that front yeah um I'm getting ready I'm actually in the process of declaring um for my major of science technology and Society um one of the most interesting classes I'm in right now is actually um It's called Power to but it's about um writing children's books uh children's picture books so I had the opportunity um there's a elementary school Lucille Nixon right down the road um we have a second grade class and we're over there constantly um you know kind of in connection with them and we're going to be writing a children's book for them that's kind of dedicated to them so that's that's my mo one of the my favorite classes that I've taken um since I've been here so um I'm extremely excited for the rest of the quarter to keep doing that quick fall pen Moody ruin did a did a children's book as well has he giv you any pointers on how to do that or just no it's actually funny we're we're roommates um me him and Zach R all live off campus together and actually on our coffee table is mood's book so I see it all the time but yeah that's the same exact class um that we were in or that um he was in so um yeah he's givv me a couple tips that that I'll be looking forward to to using have you read the book what's your thought I have I have it's a pretty good book it's a pretty good book it's it's funny um which is what children like um you know it's it's extremely interesting Moody is one of those guys that's extremely intelligent um off the field and you see that when you know a he was I think I'm pretty sure he was a freshman at the time he writing children's books for um for little kids so that that's awesome now just a final question on the trt book thing is is how does the illustration work do you guys do that or does someone else how that illustration so we actually have uh it's a group of five um it's actually a couple other football players that are in my group um but we'll basically write the whole story line out and then they're giving us iPads and um some apple pencils and we're going to be drawing pictures and all that kind of stuff so it'll be pretty cool all right well very cool and I'll have to ask you later on in the year how the children book when and what what that was and uh in the meantime how your rest of your spring practice and thanks so much for taking the time Ash awesome thank you
