golf analyst Bob wigs Bob the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs are over and just one Canadian Taylor pendrith will make it to the Tour Championship next week how big is this for him and what are the implications now for Taylor as well as the other Canadians with the President's Cup less than a month away yeah it was a great finish for Taylor penrith it was a grind down the end he admitted that he saw a scoreboard around the 16th hole that showed him projected to be 28th and he knew he would have to finish strong which he did did but give him credit this is this is kind of uh the cherry on the top of a great season for Taylor pendri you know really since the second half of this year he has been the best Canadian player on the PGA tour you know he won Byron Nelson in May and since then he's just kind of been very very solid really putting in good performances and this is something that we had thought of Taylor penth when he turned professional a number of years ago after his amateur career he was projected to be a great player but he has suffered through so many injuries over his career career and he actually had one at the start of this year a shoulder injury he was debating whether to go under surgery again but he decided to treat it with Physio and with exercise and it's paid off he's basically played the last uh six months of the season painfree and it's showed up in his game and he gets lots of rewards with this obviously there's a huge fat check that he's going to get after the after he finishes up next week at East Lake he also gets into the Masters he gets into the US Open he gets into the Open Championship and now the next thing on his list after the Tour Championship of course will be the President's Cup and none of the Canadians uh made it in the automatic pick they were made after the finish of the BMW Championship so they're going to have to rely on Mike Weir's Captain's picks and I would I would be shocked if T Taylor pendrith is not on that team I would be shocked if Cory Connors is not on that team I have a good feeling that Adam hadwin will but that's yet to be seen we'll see how he and Nick Taylor and McKenzie Hughes if they get selections that's something that they all dearly have wanted and I think Taylor Pender right now has locked himself up a position on that team the 30 players who will now compete for the season ending TOUR Championship have been finalized Bob who are the biggest surprises in that group and is this Scotty sheffer's tournament to lose I guess the biggest surprise is the guy who won the BMW Championship in Keegan Bradley I mean he was the last guy to get in he barely got in uh it was 50th and to to move all the way up into fourth spot now by winning the tournament is absolutely a huge jump uh don't forget he is the captain of the Ryder Cup team next year for the US he's also on a captain's assistant on the President's Cup team now maybe he's put himself in the running to be a playing Captain's assistant we'll see I guess the other big name too that's a bit of a surprise who made it in was Justin Thomas who finished 30th he was the last guy in to get to next week's Tour Championship don't forget last year he missed the playoffs in their entirety he did not uh even play the first event last year his game was so poor he's resurrected and he's playing some pretty decent golf as for Scotty Sheffer yeah it is kind of his to lose but he did not play very well this week he's going to go into East Lake with a two-shot lead over Xander shafley they have a staggered start so he starts at minus 10 shley will start at minus 8 and so on and if he plays the way he did in the BMW Championship I don't think he's going to win I really don't he played very very poorly it's only the second time this year that he has not broken par after four rounds his putting was really bad kind of like what it was at the start of the year when he was missing all those putts he's got some work to do if he wants to become the FedEx Cup champion and the winner of next week's TOUR Championship takes home $25 million our golf analyst Bob weeks
