Browns returned to the practice field preparing for the Jacksonville Jaguars week two trying to not go 0 and2 to start the season but of course the news of the day is the DeShaun Watson Saga continuing after a lawsuit was filed once again uh alleging sexual misconduct uh on a date in 2020 so this lawsuit came out on Monday today was the first time that we had a chance to hear from Deshawn hear from Kevin stansky Mary Kay so let's start let's just do this in order let's start with Kevin stefansky and what he had to say well first of while he's letting the legal process play out he referred to the statement that the Browns put out and that says that they are going by due process so that's the company line Kevin stefansky does not think that this will present a distraction to Deshawn or the football team he feels that they're very very focused on the Jacksonville Jaguars and he also said that he did not know about these allegations until the lawsuit was filed on Monday and it was business as usual out on the practice field so you know it does seem like Kevin stefansky is just Full Speed Ahead with DeShawn as his starting quarterback Ashley until the NFL tells him otherwise if they do yeah we went out that early portion of practice we watched the quarterbacks pretty much the whole time we were out there I think and Deshawn was taking those first team reps still we have video of that over on our YouTube page too that you can go and check out right after you watch this but it really does just seem like they are sticking with that company line right now that Mary Kay said that was in the statement that they're going to wait for for this process this investigation from the NFL to play out now we also heard from deshun Watson but before that happened actually as Kevin stefansky was speaking deshun Watson's attorney Rusty Harden released a lengthy statement uh said they are ready to take this to court they're ready to fight this in court uh deshan strongly denied the allegations and then of course Mary Kay Deshawn had an opportunity to speak to the media yes and when we talked to him he confirmed what was in the statement from Rusty Harden that he absolutely strongly denies these allegations he also said he knew nothing of this case or this incident until the lawsuit was filed on Monday now of course the plaintiff's attorney completely disagrees with that and believes that Deshawn as he said knew exactly what he was doing here he plans to vigorously vigorously pursue this and he hopes that there is a jury trial now Ashley of course uh with DeShaun Watson we we were actually in the locker room when he spoke but uh here we are again with dueling attorney statements DeShaun Watson's strong denials uh this feels a little bit like 2022 all over again in some ways yeah I'm just going to I was just thinking that that it just feels like no one expected this week to so quickly turn into this because it does feel like 2022 all over again when everyone was waiting to hear on what the NFL and the nflp agreement would be regarding his suspension that obviously ended up being 11 games and it was interesting as Mary Kay said before to hear Kevin stefansky say the first first time he heard about these allegations was when that suit was filed and DeShaun Watson emphasized that as well so it's interesting that they are in limbo again with all of this because it was a matter they essentially thought was settled once he served that 11 game suspension in 2022 now of course there is a football game on Sunday and weirdly Kevin stans's teams have historically when everything feels chaotic been able to circle the wagons and play pretty well and of course Mary Kay they're trying to bounce back from a disastrous performance on offense bad protection bad quarterback play just bad everything on the offensive side and I know deshun Watson addressed some of that as well yes he did absolutely they watched that film they realized that collectively it was just horrible from top to bottom from coaching to play calling quarterbacking you name it Dro passes penalties it was just a clunker and they know that they've got to get it together against those Jacksonville Jaguars these guys are so good defensively we've watched some of the film you know that Josh Hines Allen he had 17 and a half sacks last year Trayvon Walker had 10 they've added Eric Armstead it's going to be a bloodbath potentially uh like it was this past weekend with Micah Parsons roaming all over the place so they have to get it together in a hurry and Ashley we know one of these two teams with high expectations expensive quarterbacks they're going to be sitting there at 4:25 4:30 on Sunday at 0 and2 and very disappointed with where their season is going right now yeah and you know I think everyone that that watches the Browns they're at the Forefront of your mind but it's important to note the Jaguars are coming off of their own heartbreaking week one loss they lost on a last second field goal to the Miami Dolphins so like you said Dan two teams that have had a lot of hype in the off season early in the preseason and somebody's going to be
