about our customer Innovation Center that are that is accessible by our partners our customers and obviously our prear teams and also ER to uh learn more about the demo portal let me welcome an stage Dan Carton Heaven technology evangelist from the customer Innovation Center thanks Serena thank you so I began my journey with HP in 1998 on a monitoring desk where I mean it was paying my way through college right but they sat me down and they said you type in this command into a Unix terminal and then you get the result and you write down the result in this log book like with a pen every 15 minutes and now I realized it's 1998 but come on I mean I soon realized this was a poor use of my time and me and another guy we scripted it out and we said we're going to do it every 5 seconds and we're going to hook it up to this light it's like a red flashing light and uh then it would you know indicate when the data flow stopped through this data pipe we were monitoring and this was great because it gave us so much more time to screw around on night shift but what we'd achieved was real-time data monitoring right and that ended up really allowing us to do things better and faster and more accurately and one of the things I have learned in my career over the last 25 years now is that good engineers understand at a certain point that their goal in some way is to automate themselves out of a job the best ones understand that they have to be the ones that are in the no so they stay relevant and then they're indispensable right so really at its core this is a story about Innovation Innovation is the true Spirit of HP and I think it's what's kept me around like I feel at home here because I think Innovation is assumed and it's really nobody should have to tell you to innovate it it's it should be the base model here and I truly feel it about HP now my role the name of my role is technology evangelist and the word evangelist if you didn't know comes from the Greek word for spreader of good news and I really try to embody that I really hope that everybody is a technology evangelist let's talk about the great things that technology and specifically hbe technology can do for business and for Humanity and um listen HP has the best fastest systems on the planet and in space By the way right um wrapped with networking and services and an edge to Cloud platform that is industry-leading and personally I can't wait to see what our customers are going to do with it next so with that I am privileged to introduce you to or talk about a couple of things that are tools for your toolbox that'll allow you to Showcase that customer Innovation or that that Innovation HB Innovation to customers and uh help them on their Journey it starts in ends with the cic this is the customer Innovation Center uh used to be called the EBC but it's not just for executives and it shouldn't be brief now I like this name better starts with customer focus and Innovation is assumed so Innovation is our middle name seven centers around the world available for everyone here if you're invited to this show you can access these centers you can bring your customers and and have the experience at one of our awesome facilities now I've noticed a couple things working at the customer Innovation Center in Houston and this is not a cookie cutter experience okay we tell Edge to Cloud The Edge to Cloud story through an immersive customized experience with the customer's name and lights the whole time there's a 100 foot Jumbotron in Houston if you've been to Houston we put the customer's name on it okay um and we have some of the brightest people in HP staff in the place it I am continually amazed watching my teammates put on the most professional customized and engaging experiences in the industry we also scheduled the best thought leaders in the company to come and talk to customers and in fact a lot of the people that you'll hear speak this week at Tech Jam they're regulars at the I so think of it like this take um your you have a captive audience with your customer at a private yearr round Tech Jam or discover and you'll get it you'll get why it has such impact we hear things like this all the time I had no idea HP did all that and this is the best experience I've had uh on any customer center and guess what it works this is is the impact on on sales uh for those that brought their customers to the cic uh at the cic we are results driven these numbers are how we measure our success at the end of the day that's our bar is how many and how fast we can close sales so these numbers speak for themselves now we realize that customers can't always come to cic and uh we need to arm our technologists with how to utilize our products and how to talk about them now I won't read all these but I like the number 25,000 so I'm assuming that means that a lot of you have already experienced a demonstration portal I hope so but for those that that don't um know anything about it or want to learn a little bit more we'll go into it a little bit when you log into the demonstration portal you can see the three logins here so employees partners and customers can all use the demonstration portal 24/7 for free when you log in uh if you're a veteran go to what's new right that's where we put the latest stuff up uh if you don't know anything about the portal and you want to learn how to use it obviously uh hit the orange one the ones on the bottom all demos partner Solutions these are isv and partner Solutions Green Lake HP Green Lake demos sustainability these are C categorized so you can find your way through the demonstration portal and again there's 500 demos on here I picked one under the HP Green Lake demos and specifically this one is the HP Green Lake Edge to Cloud platform now when you go into this category you can see all of them and uh you know live is a real demo environment lab is a real demo environment but more guided interactive is basically screenshots you can get through it quickly now the HP Green Lake platform one has it's basically like your own private VM with every single component of HP Green Lake available to you it's like you'd set up the entire environment and then you can do whatever you want with it this is real data every single component of every product that's under the HB Green Lake umbrella now I won't go you know we don't have time for a live demo that's for Wednesday There's a session on Wednesday at 3:30 I'll be putting on if you want to learn more about the the demo portal come see me we'll talk about the cic and how you can better utilize it and uh we'll do an actual live demo and so with that I'd like to ask Rita back on hi Rita hello I really liked your words on Innovation really good topic so what's your call to action for the audience here in the room that's a great question yeah thank you uh it is to show off HP Innovation okay I want to show off HP innovation and in order to do that utilize these tools I promise you if you utilize these tools the cic and the demo portal we will have better customer relationships and each one of you will be able to it's proven that uh it closes more deals faster and so if you're an HB employee and you have customers use the demo portal if you're a partner and you have customers use the demo portal tell our customers about it the next time you are present pres in to one of our products one of HB products to a customer use the portal and look up that product first and use it so that you can talk about it and recently right like use it right before you talk about it I find that you can really you understand the product you can speak about it better and get into the cic uh it's free it is not there's no charge for you all of you to bring your customers into the cic uh you just have to get them there and that is that goes to our partners and our customers or sorry and our employees right so uh that's that's my that's my ask is get them in there and we're going to find better relationships and faster sales I'm sure thank you thank you okay [Music]
