Netflix is developing a sequel series to the Beloved drama One Tree Hill with several original cast members returning sources confirm that Sophia Bush Hillary Burton and Bethany Joy lens's husband Daniel akles will executive produce the reboot akles along with her husband Jensen AES will produce under their company chaos machine Becky Hartman Edwards known for her work on Firefly Lane and Parenthood is set to write and executive produce the series Warner Brothers television the studio behind the original show will also produce the sequel Bush and Burton are expected to reprise their roles and akles is also in talks to return however it's unclear whether other original cast members will join the reboot the original One Tree Hill aired for nine Seasons from 2003 to 2012 on the WB and the CW the show centered around two half Brothers Lucas Chad Michael Murray and Nathan James lafy and their lives in the fictional town of Tree Hill North Carolina it explored themes of friendship relationships and family drama Bush Burton and lens previously hosted a rewatch podcast called drama queens though Burton left after season 6 and Robert Buckley later joined as a host the original creator Mark Schwan is not involved in the sequel due to allegations of assault and harassment made by Burton and others in 2017
