Denver Broncos RB Javonte Williams SPEAKS TO THE MEDIA Following Practice 8/28/24

another story so yeah I'm just glad to be on the right side of it what have you seen from Blake Watson in the progress he shown the last few weeks yeah um just a a crazy athlete um you can tell that he's still still learning the plays and things like that but I mean once he get everything down packing and clear his mind I feel like he going to be a problem I asked Alex this you guys are young get back up a receiver you're young behind you a running back do you see this as a rebuilding season or what are your expectations for the season for this team um yeah I definitely say it's rebuilding but as far as like losing a lot of games rebuilding I wouldn't say that hopefully um we can just like coach been preaching start out strong I mean I know we're we're young but we got a lot of people that's hungry and ready to get out there so we can just start fast I feel like we'll be all right does that come up in conversation based on what happened last year in terms of the fast start yeah um coach pyton just feel like we we uh what we did when we um went down way one and5 or something like that and then we tried to CL our way back uh hopefully this year we can just start out faster and maybe switching around and be 5 in one who knows and just take it from there you me you just mentioned clearing your mind as you you're now in your fourth year have you gotten better at that of figuring out how to kind of like step away take mental breaks like what goes into that for you to kind of clear um yeah um I think I'm still still trying to figure it out how to calm myself down cuz I mean I be calm the whole week but once I see the other team on Sunday I mean it's like a little bit of butterflies and things like that that you feeling inside but I mean that's a good thing to too cuz it gets you pumped and ready for the game so as far as just being nervous and things like that I I don't really feel it too much no more there were obviously really big expectations after your rookie year and then you get hurt last year come inj have you put those I gu same you can get to that level everybody anticipated you will head it towards in your second year again yeah I definitely uh hear and see everything I mean um there's a lot of people saying different stuff out there but I just like I've been saying my whole time here I just come go to work and whatever happens happens you put a lot of work in from the spring I don't think train now there's 10 days left until the regular season opener how how impatient do you get during these days to get to see get that first test yeah um I can't wait honestly I can't wait because I mean this the best as I felt in a in a minute so I mean just getting back out there um on the field in front of the crowd things like that and a real opponent that's going to actually count against the the record I'm ready I'm ready to get to it what are the advantages of a team that's young um just the ability to play free cuz I mean you don't really when you're young you don't really know what what to expect I mean you just doing things that been working your whole lifetime and career so I mean you just bring that here and bring it every day and I mean you might Inspire somebody else to go even harder making the team better so I mean when I hear the word young I just think of people just going out and playing free hey javante um Alex Singleton kind of talked about for rookie how poised and mature bone makes what and he gave some examples what are some examples in the Huddle or whatever in the locker room that just show how maybe mature emplo B next yeah I start by just being able to get the play out in the Huddle some of them plays be like 5 6 seconds long for him to remember it I mean that jum just crazy off real but I mean yeah just the way he carry himself uh everyday Pro you could tell he's um he's been ready for this moment for a long time and now that he's fin finally in the shoes I mean he's just taking po a hold of it and just going with the flow foron javante last time you was up here you mentioned how you felt more confident going into this year what what's the key to developing that confidence is having more confidence that you're compared to before is it because you're more healthier than before or what the other things you do to kind of build that yeah I mean just being healthy and another thing I feel like that goes along with with confidence is just KN what you're doing on the field um your run plays pass plays knowing who to block getting a pre not read um just seeing the little small things that a lot of people that's just coming from I mean different places might not pick up as early but um yeah just the small details and things like that that'll take it long you mentioned B getting the play out the huddle how does like the pre-nap process and how quick it is compared to maybe where it was in previous years you've been in this offense yeah um I mean as far as getting you talking about for him or for me for him for in the offens side oh yeah um just I mean just getting the plays out and things like that for him um I'm pretty sure that was a a big part for him cuz most players have to use wristbands and things like that but um I can see him picking it up without the wristbands for real so just just seeing him do that and things like that just shows that he's mature um confident and like I said he just been ready for this position now he's in it when did Blake Watson jump out to you when did you notice be player um I feel like when I seen his top speed was like 22 or 23 miles per hour I was like that really caught my eye and then just seeing him out here week by week you could just see him getting better and things like that he was kind of I mean it felt like a little out of place at the first week OTAs when he came but I mean as he kept progressing and doing things more and more he started flash on
